Mommy's Angel by Miasha

After her big brother Curtis is gunned down in the streets of Brooklyn, Angel's family crumbles. Grief stricken, her mother turns to heroin to ease her pain. She doesn't notice that her son has no food or that her daughters' clothes are torn and dirty. Worst of all, she doesn't see what her boyfriend does to Angel behind closed doors.

Desperate to support her younger brother and sister, Angel hits the streets looking for anything or anyone to help. But she's fifteen years old, so options for legal work are few. As a last resort, she turns to her brother's best friend, Antoine, who arranges for a job for her at a strip club. It's only supposed to be for a while, until she can get her working papers.

Angel is convinced she won't fall victim to the streets like her mother. But the fast life has its temptations and a magical ability to make you forget.

What a powerful little book. Miasha has a wonderful writing style. Nice and simple. Straight to the point. Life is all about choices. Some will be the right choices and some will be the wrong choices, but what ever you decide, you must deal with the consequences. And remember you don't have to go down the same road as your family before you. Cycles can be broken if your strong and determined. This is a must read for all young ladies. Excellent.

This book was very good, i like the fact it had a lot of intensity especially the drama with angel. I wouldnt know how to deal with a situation where my mom was addicted to drugs and my mom dated somebody who did harm to her, kindle, and her other little sister. On top of that, she lost her brother because he had to help his mom get out of debt because she had a gambling problem. This book was great and i dedicate to every teen who loves the drama books.

This book was depressing. It was a page turner. Lots of twists and turns, however the ending wasn't good in any sense

This book was a book i finished in one day. I give it to Miasha I couldnt stop reading it. I liked the writing style she used making Angel talk to her readers. It was a very good story and even had a twist that makes you believe everything had turned around for the poor girl and it would have a happy ending. But it turned to the worse again but was still interesting. The only thing that kept Miasha from getting five stars from me was her ending. I found it incredibly unbelievable that her mom would just decide to kill her out the blue instead of finding another way to end the story. That really disappointed me. I expected a better ending after such a good story. I feel like she got lazy and just ended it like that.

This book was horrible, very predictable most if the time and drawn out. I was getting annoyed reading it because it was just that bad and the only reason I compketed the book was to see this "wonderful" ending but I found it to be very unrealiatic. Loved Diary of a Mistress, very disappointed with this one. I will give Miasha anither chance and check out another book and if it's anything like this I will be done!
