Overview

Monday (Timeless Series #1) by E. L. Todd

I don’t believe in destiny.

In fate.

Or in soul mates.

But I believe in Hawke.

My life has never been whole since my parents left forever. I have my brother, someone I can barely tolerate most of the time, and I have my best friend, Marie.

And I have myself.

But when Hawke walks into my life, there’s an immediate connection. Our eyes lock and an unspoken conversation is exchanged. For the first time in my life, I actually feel something.

But he doesn’t.

He keeps me at arm’s length and pretends there’s nothing between us when there clearly is. I’m not the kind of girl to wait around for any guy, so I don’t.

But that doesn’t mean he isn’t in the back of my mind.

Our paths cross again in a way neither one of us expect and it changes everything. Was it destiny that made it happen? Was it fate?

Or was it something else?

About the Author

E. L. Todd was raised in California where she attended California State University, Stanislaus and received her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, then continued onto her master’s degree in education. While science is interesting and a hobby, her passion is writing. After writing novels as a small child, her craft grew until she found the confidence to show her closest friends—which is how Only For You, the first installment of the Forever and Always series, and the Soul Saga series began. When she isn’t reading or writing, she is listening to indie rock music. Her current favorite artist is Mumford and Sons, whom she credits most of her inspiration for her novels. She also enjoys running and swimming, as well as working as a high school teacher. She also works as an assistant editor at Final-Edits.com. She has an unusual obsession with dogs, even though she doesn’t own one, and her favorite vacation spot is Disneyland, which she visits several times a year. The most important aspect of her life is her friends, whom contributed so much time and energy into all of her novels. According to E. L. Todd, “Without them, Only For You and Soul Catcher never would have come to fruition. I am theirs forever.”

I give it two stars since I finished it but it had a few glaring errors that should have been cleared up with beta readers and editors. Author rushed through the story with a lot of telling and not much showing. Didn't feel the story was well written and didn't feel a connection between the two main characters. The pov of Hawke was written in a girly voice and just didn't ring true as a male pov. Definitely won't be reading on in the series.

I was pulled into the book and couldn't put it down until I finished it. Wish it was full length so I didnt have to wait to know how it ends, but it's worth it. This is the first book I've read from this author and I truly loved it

Not good enough to drop my money into a long series. I just read Monday, there are 7 days in a week, no way would i buy 7 books. So often a series just drags on with tragedy after tragedy, no thanks. I enjoyed Hawke and Frankie, but too much drama

This was a really good book to read. I know why Hawke did what he did at the end the way he did it, but WOW

This is my first time reading E.L.Todd. I think the subject matter was strong and the book had lots of potential. However, the story moved slowly and there were flaws in the development of the characters. There were some very intense emotional moments in thet story, but then nothing. Hawke' POV did not reflect the man he was described to be. A bit to feminine for me. There were several grammatical errors throughout the book, but not enough to hinder the meaning. I did finish it and will read the next book. I have hope that the E.L. reflected the Monday book and seriously looked at how to improve the Tuesday book.

Hawke and Frankie have an instant connection. They go out and have a great time. Then Hawke walks away. He is haunted by his demons. Only Frankie can save him. But what happens when the demons come back? A great start to their story. Filled with passion, loyalty, love, soul mates, and internal demons. Can't wait for the rest of the series!

Cliffhanger! The ending made me want to scream and rant for hours, but only because I was so invested in Hawke and Frankie. They overcame so may obstacles and it seems like more are to come. I can't wait to read Tuesday!

First book by this author and OMG... I'm in love!? FABULOUS story!! Watching Frankie and Hawke struggle to find love... a first date ending in friendship and a friendship leading to finding your true soulmate. So many incredible characters, having dealt with and survived so much.. Yaya is a trip, Marie is a fabulous friend and Axle surely keeps it fun and exciting! Beautiful story about two people coming together and finding what they truly need in each other and unconditional love between two people that truly understand one another. But in the end can they move beyond their past? KILLER cliffhanger ending.. my heart is breaking and I'm left DYING to know where these two end up next!? HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended read!!

Francesca is an independent, sassy spitfire. Not afraid to ask a man out, when she crosses paths with Hawke and feels the connection sizzling between them, she takes control of the situation and asks him out. Unfortunately for Francesca, Hawke misreads the situation and by the time he realizes it, butterflies are stirring in her belly and Hawke is taking a one way train out of anywhere that could lead to Commitmentville. In a series of events, Francesca and Hawke are led back to one another and become good friends. Their friendship comes easy despite both being attracted to one another. Hawke doesn't do relationships though and a line has been drawn between the two of them in terms of relationships or anything of that nature. As their friendship grows and intensifies, Hawke finds himself doing things that he wouldn't normally do. But can their connection last? Can Hawke ever be the man that Francesca needs or is their too much darkness in him? Monday had me laughing, frowning, and swooning all throughout the book. Just when I thought I knew what would happen next, Todd surprised me. Monday is a fantastic start to the new Timeless series and I am anxiously anticipating the rest of the releases!

Monday by E.L. Todd is the first book in her new series Timeless. This book was so far from what I was expecting in the best way possible. I expected a full-length, sappy, stand-alone romance (love those) and I got a witty, banter-filled, emotional journey throught the beginnings of the forever-love that Frankie and Hawke have for each other. From flirty banter, to a first date, to crickets...Frankie wonders what happened with her and Hawke on their date. It was fun, they kissed, it was amazing, there was most definitely chemistry AND he was the first guy shes ever really needed and wanted to go on a second date with. So why'd he blow her off? Hawke misreads Frankie's intentions and when he realizes she is not out for a night of fun between the sheets, at least not only, that she is looking for long-term eventually, he backs off. BUT, he just can't stay away. Thus begins their budding friendship. As friends they are cute and caring and wonderful together. But of-course their is angst and drama. They both have darkness in their pasts and issues to deal with. What we the reader struggle with is watching when they try to go it alone, and then of course, the cliffhanger. We always struggle with a cliffhanger. Even though I do love to hate them. Great news, however, books two and three are already available and appear to wrap up Hawke and Frankie's story arc.

You know there's that moment when you meet someone's eyes and you kind of just melt into a little puddle right there. Then you act like a fool trying to get their attention? Yeah, me either. Kidding. I have done that it is one of those moments where I wish I could slam my face into my desk because it was so embarrassing. Francesca is someone who is a heartbreaking person. She will drive you to tears because you just want to hold her. She had a hard life. But then again, so has Hawke. Through this book, your heart will break and end on this note. It isn't your typical HEA and you sure as well aren't going to get one. Unless it is continued in her next books. I personally think that we should all riot against Todd for putting us through so much pain and make her write faster to bring the next book in the series. I am not big on HEAs but I am not on cliffhangers either. Hint, hint. So maybe it will come soon. With a rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars, blog you later, awesome book nerds.

I only got the first half of the book as an ARC . I was spellbound and head over heels from the beginning . As much as I read, and as vast as my genre and authors are, it has been a long time since a romance has brought me such passion and heart ache. I can't wait to finish their story and only hope they find their hea.
