Overview

Monochromatic HDR Photography: Shooting and Processing Black & White High Dynamic Range Photos / Edition 1

Update: The Kindle version of Monochromatic HDR Photography: Shooting and Processing Black & White High Dynamic Range Photos currently available for sale has been corrected and updated to address formatting issues.

Monochromatic HDR Photography is the first book intended to show photographers how to work at the intersection of two up-and-coming trends that are at the forefront of the digital revolution: Black & White and High Dynamic Range imaging.

The book explains techniques for extending dynamic range, monochromatic conversion methods and best practices where the two technologies intersect. Since successful digital monochromatic image creation generally requires using the color information inherent in RAW exposures, most case studies will be presented in full color.

In addition, Monochromatic HDR Photography provides extensive coverage of the creative vision required to successfully create monochromatic HDR images and the workflow necessary to make art prints from this specialized image making technique.

I got the sample of this book and I could it read fine. However, when I purchased the book the print was so small that it was almost impossible to read, even after turning off the publishers default and using the largest print available on my Nookcolor. I never have much luck with the live chat nor the customer service line so I don't know who to ask. Not very happy with this purchase. Rod.

Once again, the best book ever! This step by step book takes the photographer from seeing, visualizing, capturing the color image, and post processing via Photoshop. Learn how to take color images with lots of contrast (full sun) and convert them to wonderful black and white images with detail, structure and contrast. Harold carefully explains (in layman's terms) a number of ways to convert the color images you exposed carefully to get the wonderful contrast that makes such great black and white images. The images and the descriptions show you the way to create your own visual black and white masterpieces. The book also covers the use of a black and white filters that help add texture, structure, and contrast to your finished images. Photo examples help show the reader what, why and how to get the results they are looking for. Another jewel of a book that the reader will use and treasure for years to come. Thanks Harold, we needed this book!!! Comment |
