Overview

Arianna Smith is a young, non-tenured professor at Kalispell Community College. She is trying to be pious and professor-like with her eyes on the tenure ball--but her personality gets in the way. She's just not a rule-follower.

When Arianna's best friend, Seth, is accused of rape, she immediately rushes in to rescue him. A recipe for disaster is fashioned when a crooked cop and a corrupt judicial system are blended into the mix.

The temperature is turned up when Arianna's old flame, Josiah--a heart-breaker from her past--shows up. Their shared childhood memories are a strong link that forges their past to their future. As Arianna and Josiah strive to evade their mutual attraction, they are unaware that someone is watching. The person is filled with a seething hatred and waiting for the perfect moment to destroy Arianna and her beloved animal companions.

With Montana's vivid landscape as its backdrop, this story is full of suspense and humor and an insight into a culture that is uniquely Montana.
