The short review: This book aims to improve your mood mainly be making changes in your diet, particularly by recommending specific amino acids. The longer review: The book begins by having the reader distinguish between false moods and true emotions by having them complete a questionnaire. By doing this, you can see which false mood type (or types) you seem to fit. From there, you are directed to certain chapters for a more individualized treatment. Action steps at the end of chapters tell you exactly what to do. All-in-all it's certainly a valuable resource with much information. Know that it aims to primarily improve moods through nutritional means, which is a much overlooked area in my opinion, and anyone struggling with chronic bad moods is encouraged to check it out. Other books I liked that also take a natural approach include "Exercise Beats Depression". :)

I stumbled across this book by mistake. I picked it up and read bits and pieces and already knew it was what I needed. I went on to reading just the first couple of chapters and was amazed at what I learned. It's easy to understand how nutrition and certain suppliments assit the in process of creating good moods. I was all to used to having bad moods, and it created havoc in my relationships with people. I hated my life and wanted a change. Once I started the easy plan that Julia described in just 2-3 chapters. I no longer felt the need to abusing substances for curbing my moods. I was no longer holding on to hurtful comments even thought they probably weren't hurtful at all. I had simply preceived things differently before. I did not even need to see a therapist! If it could help a person like I was I know it can help you. You just have to read it and do it. It's not that hard to pop one suppliment to give a more positive outlook.

This book proposes that changes in diet and nutritional supplements can eliminate four types of 'false moods': a dark cloud, blahs, stress, or too much sensitivity. Admittedly, the author provides a fairly convincing argument to support her diet deficiency theory. It's not even that difficult to apply the dietary suggestions to yourself. However, I tried the suggestions for two months and didn't notice any improvement in my blah moods.
