"If you're looking for a sappy, easy, cookie-cutter romance with sparkly characters or weak, virginal damsels... move along, human! This story is multi-dimensional from start to finish ... Whether you're a die-hard fan of the series already or this is your first time reading this author, you will not be bored!"

Opening line: He rode up on a Harley.

Recently promoted to the Special Operations Topside Team, quiet warrior Breen Dalakis is the least likely man to commit an unauthorized bite. But in a moment of blinding bloodlust, he bites and bonds with a new Dragon woman, permanently tying himself to a stranger. Now he must find a way to break through her seething rejection, but a lifetime spent skirting his emotions has left him stumped.

Wild girl Charlize Renault has never been in a long-term relationship, doesn't want one now, and there's a good reason for that--a deeply buried, secret reason. But when Breen disappears on a mission gone bad, Charlize's emotional ghosts rise again. She'll have to finally conquer her past if she ever wants to find true happiness with the man who has moved mountains to reach her...but the last time she fought her demons, they nearly destroyed her.

About the Author

Tracy Tappan is the best-selling author of gritty romance, her novels spanning across multiple genres. Her debut novel, THE BLOODLINE WAR, won the bronze medal for romance from the Independent Publishers Book Award (IPPY), one of the largest national book contests. The second book in her Community Series, THE PUREST OF THE BREED, was a USA Book News Award finalist, and the fourth book, MOON-RIDERS, a Readers’ Favorite Gold Medal winner. The third book in her Wings of Gold Series, MAN DOWN, won the Readers’ Favorite Bronze Medal for Romance, was a 2017 Kindle Book Awards Semi-finalist, and won the HOLT Medallion for outstanding literary fiction in a novel with Strong Romantic Elements.

Tracy holds a master’s degree in Marriage, Family, Child Counseling (MFCC), loves to play tennis, enjoys a great glass of wine, and talks to her two Labradors like they are humans (admittedly, the wine drinking and the dog talking probably go together).

Reviewed by Melinda Hills for Readers' Favorite Charlize and Breen are made for each other – or are they? Moon-Riders by Tracy Tappan brings Dragon Charlize together with Varcolac Breen with explosive results. Charlize has a lot of baggage from an unhappy past and thinks moving to this unique colony will provide her with a new lease on life. Charlize uses her strong attitudes to keep others away, but that just won’t work with the surprise consequences of her extremely physical encounter with Breen. Breen also has issues from his past but when his life is on the line, he finally realizes that there is more to living and does everything he can to overcome Charlize’s hostility. Age-old enemies show up and try to get revenge for past conflicts. This exposes some complicated relationships and only a willingness to start over will move the groups past hatred and revenge. That also goes for the inhabitants of Tarana as personal needs and long-held feelings create tensions that threaten the stability of the community. Decisions need to be made but will everyone agree to what is best? Moon-Riders is Book 4 in Tracy Tappan’s wildly successful Community Series with an in-depth look at another couple living in Tarana. Superb character development with the main characters, as well as strong supporting roles, bring the action alive and let you experience extreme emotion as you progress through the story. Fantastic descriptions and well-conceived sub-plots add to your experience, whether it’s the humorous or horror inducing sections. Intense action balances deep passion while each plays a necessary part in depicting the lives of these unique beings. Tappan’s use of psychology provides for intense feelings that really draw you in and leave you wanting more. Moon-Riders is an adult-themed book well worth reading, and stands alone well in spite of being Book 4 in a series!

The story line of this series sucks you in and keeps you rivited throughout. I would highly recommend this series to anyone. The way the Varcolac and the Fey interact in this series is special and refreshing change.

I just love this series! Tracy's unique spin on vampires is something so truly refreshing, especially if you've read your fill of the same ol' vamps drinking blood, can't go in the sun, blah blah blah. True, Tracy's vamps share some of these qualities, but the originality is just SO cool! I'll admit, I was not a fan of Charlize at first. At all. She sort of adopted the stereotypical "playboy" role of wham bam thank you, ma'am, no man will ever tie me down (figuratively speaking), etc. But I'm really glad I stuck with the book and enjoyed how Charlize changed her tune eventually. Similarly, I wasn't sure if I would like Breen either. He struck me as a bit of a pushover, maybe even a little aloof. But again, he sure proved himself and I'm super glad I was given the opportunity to read this latest installment of The Community series!!! (I was given a copy of this book in consideration of my thoughts)

Where to begin? Tracy Tappan's 4th installment of The Community series, Moon Riders was amazing read. It delved deeper into the history and culture of the Varcolac than we have seen yet. It had harrowing twist and turns, and you feel just as strongly as the characters as they battle enemies, emotions and trauma. The plots are so well thought out, with new characters and many of your old favorites as well. You'll laugh, and cry, and grieve. I've already read it 2 times, and the series at least 4 times, and I keep coming back for more. You won't want to miss it!

Moon-Riders is the best of The Community Series so far!!!! The long awaited fourth book in Tracy Tappan’s Community Series. Moon-Riders focuses on the relationship between Breen and Charlize and their unexpected bonding. While trying to figure out the new paths their lives have taken and finding a way to accept their fates, they hit many unexpected and surprising roadblocks along the way. I’m afraid to say much more since I don’t want to put any spoilers in here, but trust me when I say it will be well worth reading. You don't necessarily need to read the first three books but it will make this book SO much better if you do. I have loved every one of the books in this series and Moon-Riders exceeds all my expectations. There are so many twists and turns to the overall story I found myself frequently wanting to go back to the previous three books to see if there was some clue that I missed. Ms. Tappan has hit it out of the park once again and this book was so worth the wait. I really hope the fifth book comes out soon, I will be waiting anxiously for it.

MOONRIDERS by Tracy Tappan Moonriders is a continuation of the Community Series and this is book 4. I love this series, and this is no exception and might just be my favorite one. This is the story of Breen and Charlize. A more unlikely pair would be hard to find, but they come together and the sparks fly. This story also brings us characters from the first 3 book which I love to see old favorites in later books. It is like a visit with old friends. These 2 really earn their HEA. They go through so much on their way to finding each other. I do not like to give too much away, but urge you to take a chance with this one. You would not have to read the first 3 to enjoy this book, but would benefit from the backstory they bring. I can always count on Tracy Tappan to bring a story that keeps me turning pages and wanting to know more about the characters I care about. Her gift for storytelling is what makes her one of my favorite authors. After reading the Community Series in its entirety I urge you to give Tracy's Wings of Gold Series a try, you won't be disappointed! I received an ARC for my honest review.

This book completely lived up to my expectations as the 4th in the Community Series!! I could not WAIT to get my hands on this book and I could not put it down. It gave me the biggest hangover afterwards!!! This is seriously saying something for someone who swears off science fiction books. I could not resist this series and am SO glad I gave it a try!!! I adore this world Tracy Tappan has created and cannot wait to jump back into it with the next release!! Breen and Charlize light up the pages in this book and the tension and chemistry is off the charts. They have instant chemistry but have a lot of work to get to where they finally truly connect. There is a lot of raw, gritty angst that keeps you turning the page wondering what is going to happen next. There is a ton of information revealed in this book that sheds light on the characters within the story from all the way back to book 1. If this community were real, I'd be first in line to sign up to go visit these vamps!!!

the first few chapters I knew why I had missed those Varcolac boys so much! While this is the story of Breen the quiet & brooding Special Ops Warrior & the tough Dragon Woman Charlize it was so much more to the seasoned Community Series readers. It updated us on the previous book characters but also brought new depth to storylines only touched upon before in Luna Zana & the original Varcolac. Then there was John Waterson who had worked with Toni. As I have said, so much going on it was glorious to read. There were other threads in here which will build into future books but this is a complete story for Breen & Charlize. It took me a while to warm to Charlize but once her story unfolded she was easier to understand & Breen just developed throughout. If you haven’t read the Community Series before, you will get the most from this if you start with The Bloodline War & work your way through as you absolutely won’t regret all those hot hot hot Varcolac & their passionate Dragon women. I was lucky enough to be given an ARC but I would be buying this anyway as I am an unrepentant Community Series addict. I can’t wait for more please Tracy.
