Overview

Moonsilver (Unicorn's Secret Series) by Kathleen Duey, Omar Rayyan

Heart Trilby has no family. She lives a hard and lonely life in the dusty village of Ash Grove — until she finds a scarred, skinny mare in the forest. Against the wishes of her guardian, mean-spirited Simon Pratt, Heart adopts the mare and names her Avamir. Heart is thrilled when she realizes Avamir is in foal. But when the colt is born weak and disfigured, Simon decides to sell Heart's beloved horses to be slaughtered by the town's soapmaker. Can Heart find a way to protect them — and the only love she has ever known?

This was an awesome story. My daughter always reads out loud to me. I thought it was a bit boring at first, but when we got to the end, she and I knew we needed the remaining books in the set! I can't wait to hear 'the rest of the story'.

This is the first of an eight volume series written at the level of young readers who are ready for chapter books. However, it will also captivate older and more capable readers. Very rarely do authors writing for this particular reading level give the attention to character development and story-telling that Ms. Duey does in this series. This beautiful and fascinating saga builds to a surprising conclusion that will amaze readers of all ages. I highly recommend it for young readers to enjoy on their own or for families to read together aloud

This girl finds a horse but end up not being one... a unicorn!!! This unicorn's horn got riped off I think because there's this big scar in her forehead. Advimir (the unicorn) has a baby... Moonsilver. Then the rest is a surprise for you!!
