Moore Than A Feeling by Julie A. Richman

"Holly and Aiden broke up? Seriously? No way. Not those two."

No, not only dumped.
Blindsided and dumped.

I thought that Aiden McManus was my forever, my soulmate,
That was until he told me he was still in love with his ex.

I didn't want to believe him.
So, I convinced myself that our break-up was because of his upcoming deployment,
and not because he didn't love me.
Believing that, helped me get through those first months.

But after a while, I realized I just might be lying to myself.
And it was time to move on...

So, I moved on. Or tried to move on, anyway.
But that didn't work out so well for me, either.
And it practically got me disowned from my family.

After that, I finally started to get my life back together,
I had everything back under control...
...Or so I thought.

Until I found out Aiden was back

And now he's everywhere I turn,
Still pushing me away,
telling me he doesn't want me.

But every time he calls me Angel or reaches out to touch my cheek,
I know what he's not admitting to himself –
He still loves me.

And I'm going to prove it to him.

Nothing less than PERFECTION that will leave you wanting MOORE! This book was EVERYTHING! It was so much more than just Aiden and Holly’s story. It is a homecoming to all your old friends from this series! This can be read as a standalone, but it will definitely make you want to find out MOORE!!! This family is something special! Even CJ makes some SPECTACULAR appearances! I knew Julie Richman was talented, but this book shows just how big her talent is! This book made me feel like I was being encompassed in a warm blanket, reminiscing and catching up with old friends. That is a testament to her writings to submerge yourself in this story! While you are visiting old friends, she gives you Aiden and Holly! Aiden being a man and thinking he is doing the noble thing, breaks Holly’s heart! Holly rebounds with a HUGE blast from Mia’s past! This is just pure amazingness as this plays out! While also giving us a terrific dramatic plotline, Ms. Richman takes on the tough subject matter of PTSD! She handles it with care while showing what MANY service member comes back with and unable to either get help or know how to get help. As someone with personal experience with PTSD, she handled it beautifully. Ms. Richman doesn’t give you the perfect story, but it is a perfection for this series.

Moore than a Feeling is icing on the cake! Moore than a Feeling totally tugged on my heartstrings from the first to the last sentence. Not only does it bring to light a serious issue of PTSD and its effects on both service members and their loved ones it tells a story of hope and healing. This story features Aiden and Holly. It takes place on mostly on Fire Island where the Moore family has their beach house. Julie Richman also weaves in humor with the entire Moore clan and extended family. While this can certainly be read as a stand-alone you will increase your reading pleasure with the boxed set Needing Moore. Kudos to Julie Richman.

Despite the more than rocky start that the Moore blended family experienced due to secrets, lies, and hurt feelings, Schooner and Mia have found a way to surround all of their kids with a profound sense of love and protection. But as much as they want to protect their eldest daughter, Holly, from enduring any more of life’s heartache when it comes to love, parents have very little control, which means that all Schooner and Mia can do is be there for Holly and help her cope and slowly move forward when the love of her life breaks her heart and refuses to admit that what they have/had isn’t over. In everyone’s mind, Holly Moore and Aiden McManus were the couple people aspired to be, so the fact that Aiden dumped Holly blindsided all those who know them, but their reactions is nothing compared to how heartbroken and shell shocked Holly is when her soulmate crushes her to her core. Julie A. Richman perfectly illustrates just how devastated Holly is by Aiden’s rejection and how much their breakup affects every aspect of her life, forcing her to make some off the cuff decisions that clearly shouldn’t be made. It’s clear that Holly has been simply existing since Aiden’s deployment, and while she’s tried to move on, working through the various stages of her grief and heartbreak, nothing and no one can entirely heal her heart regardless of how much her head wants that to happen. Regardless of Aiden’s altruistic reasons for ending things with Holly, it doesn’t solve his feelings of inadequacy or the fears and nightmares that constantly torment him. Aiden exemplifies the struggles that soldiers must endure, both on the battlefield and in civilian life, as well as what happens when support is refused and a downward spiral is inevitable. There are so many layers to Richman’s characters in Moore Than a Feeling, which means that Holly and Aiden are constantly evolving, in both positive and negative ways, and with that idea in mind, it’s quite easy to identify when they go off the rails and when they take back control of their hearts and their minds and work towards a beneficial resolution. Any book in Julie A. Richman’s Moore Series is like going to a family reunion…it’s like catching up with people you feel like you’ve known forever and not missing a bit when their stories continue. Every character that readers have grown to love and even hate are a part of Holly and Aiden’s story, and while my positive feelings for CJ are still a work-in-progress, I do have to say that she actually comes through for her daughter when she truly needs her to, which means CJ at least had the frame of mind to put Holly first for once instead of being her normal selfish self. I don’t think I will ever truly like CJ, but like it or not, she’ll always be a part of this family, so some kind of truce must be made. Holly and Aiden’s journey is an intensely emotional one, and it’s one where individual soul searching must occur for both of them to move forward even if that’s done alone. Despite Aiden’s actions otherwise, the love he feels for Holly remains even after he calls things off before his next deployment and returns home still firm in his resolve to stay away from the only woman who can actually heal his heart, body, and mind.

I feel like I've taken a long very satisfying journey. This book is delightful. I love getting to seeing Schooner and Mia with their growing family along with Seth and Henry its a beautiful gathering. CJ is back in the story!!! and she is perfection. You must read this...she can't be described by anyone but the talented Julie A. Richman. This book is about Holly, Schooners oldest daughter. It opens with her heartbroken over Aidens break up with her as he is sent into a war zone by the Army. He does end up getting injured, quite seriously and that provides much of this story. Holly is an amazing woman who knows what love means. Her fight for him is epic. Julie does a fantastic job of describing PTSD. Her depiction of Aiden is painful to read, as it should be. This is a long and well woven story and I loved it enough to read it twice before writing my thoughts. Thanks to the author for this wonderful trip

It was great catching up with Moore family, this time with Holly’s story. I felt like a fly on the wall watching everything going on. This is a story following rich tapestry of family life. That follows through from Holly and Aiden’s break-up. Two thanksgivings and many other family holidays. Even though this is Holly’s heartbreak, as seen through the eyes of her family, and provides great entertainment with banter and bickering among family, friends and Ex’s. I must admit I felt right at home! Great read with plenty of entertainment, also tackling Aiden’s problems after being injured and suffering with PSTD. This is a standalone with a happily ever after. I loved it , plenty of laughs even among the pain. This is book with lots of love and heart.
