Overview

More for Mom will encourage women to stop believing the lie that more is needed from them,
and start living with the truth that more is available for them.

With real-life talk, humor and convicting biblical truths, Kristin Funston helps hard working mamas to look at each day and each facet of their life to discover what happens when they believe God has more for them than what they think the world needs from them.

And what He has available is a whole and holy life, just waiting to be claimed–a salvation and day-to-day reality complete just as it is. The pieces of each mom’s life–the work life, mom life, social life, etc.–are mended together through Christ to complete her one whole life, set apart because of Him.

This book is a stepping stone to help working mothers reset their spiritual and emotional health, habits, and relationship with God. There are performance pressures at work, home,
and mind-sets that affect a mom’s ability to feel complete and live more closely aligned with God. This book includes the beginning steps for moms to walk in wholeness and holiness by asking God for more.

I loved More for Mom, it's like I was sitting across from my best friend having a conversation! Kristin dropped some truth bombs and nuggets of wisdom, right when I needed to hear them. God's timing is everything and he used Kristin's book to convey these messages to me! More for Mom is honest, relatable, encouraging and funny! I highly recommend this book, it's an easy read and I plan to share it with my mom friends who I know need encouragement too. "Our holiness isn't about anything we do, but about what Christ has already done."

More for Mom is a great book for those moms who need that extra dose of encouragement. When we have those rough days (which let's face it --- moms have them often), I have found myself recalling little truths or stories from Kristin's book. Thank you Kristin for sharing your heart and perspective on motherhood.

All of us struggle with the same things - how to do it all, how to create time for it all.... we just often don't realize that we are on a shared journey. This book provides a 'tell it like it is' approach to today's world that moms live in, from someone who is walking the same path. It beautifully knits scripture and holy mindfulness into practical advice and stories. (note: I received an advance reader copy from the publisher)

This book is Amazing! I love the way the author intertwines scripture with the text. I feel like we are living life, and then getting a peek into the mind of Christ. I feel very down to earth when reading Kristin's stories, even when it brings up raw emotions. It's ok to feel emotion, and even laugh at yourself at times. This is so inspiring! Thank you!

I've been a mom now for over 2 decades. How I wish I had someone whispering the powerful words Kristin shares in the pages of this book while I was just starting motherhood. Even at this stage of life, with some of my kids already out of the nest, I found her book impacting my heart and how I look at holiness, my life, and the more God has for me. It's drawn me closer to Him, with a renewed purpose and focus. I'm looking for more of Him to get more of Him, seeking Jesus in the middle of my mess!

Definitely a Must Read! As I have read through this book I felt myself relating too everything from living a juggling act to stacking up my list of sins. I feel like this book has given me some practical ways on living my Whole and Holy Life that I never thought of before. “If there’s a hole where patience should be, intentionally strive to add more patience into your day”. This is going to be my new motto because I have a 2 year old and a 6 year old so lately my patience is thin. Kristin is an amazing writer and allows the reader to relate as you read the words. I received an advance copy of this book and loved every second of reading it.

Being a mom is a hard task....the hardest I have faced my entire life. Kristin delivers some major truth moms that we forget in this world of mom-shaming and the comparison race of social media. Kristin uses 'girlfriend' talk to relate to all the struggles we all face as mothers. She helps us see we are never in it alone. She uses scripture PLUS real-life examples moms have all faced illustrating how we can live a whole and holy life!

Many people who see this book title may assume that it is for women who are of child-bearing age. Well, I am many years past that time but it calls to me because I am deeply involved in the care of my five year-old granddaughter. It also speaks to me because I sometimes feel that I just can't get it all done. I know that I'm not alone because most of us experience heavy demands on our time and our busy lives can occur at any age! One of the chapters in More for Mom is titled "More Time" and the author discusses how to shift our time and energy back to Jesus. She also shows us how to use Biblical truths to gain a new perspective. Funston tells us that "The small pieces of our lives that seem separate from one another actually work together to complete who we are, because we have a Creator who speaks through our pieces from a place of true wholeness." In another excerpt she shares Luke 12:23. Jesus tells his disciples that "For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothes". Funston reminds us that "Life is Who we allow to complete it, and our body is Who we allow to fill it". Wow! More for Mom is filled with bible scripture and Funston's own personal experiences and it is a book that encourages, motivates and inspires. So, whether you are a twenty-something stay-at-home mother; a thirty-something mother with a career; or even a sixty-something grandmother who is once again in the mothering business---it doesn't matter because---this book is for you! More for Mom can help you can find truth and encourage you to find a way to enjoy a "whole and holy life". I received a complimentary digital copy of this book but was under no obligation to post a positive review.

More for Mom is a well written book for moms that are feeling overwhelmed. Many moms believe they are not doing enough in and outside of the home. We are told to give more, do more and serve more. Kristin Funston assures moms that we are holy before God and our works do not determine our value. She offers practical advice on how to prioritize our schedules and community involvement based on our God given talents and abilities. Our focus should be how much we can do based on what our schedule allows and not worry about what others think. Follow me on my blog at https://quirkybookworm.azurewebsites.net I will be posting my review on Monday, May 20th, 2019.

More for Mom, by Kristin Funston is a book directed at moms that have a lot of juggling to do (isn’t that all of us?) There are so many things that need to be done and we all only have twenty-four hours a day. Funston, a busy mom herself, wrote this book to help other moms live a “Whole and Holy Life”. The author does not claim to be the “perfect” mom who has everything together. She shares her own struggles but exhorts her readers to pursue holiness in our everyday living. Funston emphasizes that “our holiness isn’t about anything we do but about what Christ has already done.” This book includes Biblically-based, practical advice about spiritual disciplines such as fasting and prayer. I also found the chapter about prioritizing our time very helpful. Funston writes in a down-to-earth manner and is funny and relatable. I would highly recommend More for Mom for any mom who wants “more” from this life.

EXCELLENT for moms and women of all ages, beliefs, and walks of life! Very encouraging book with scripture to back the advice. I received an advanced copy of this book to read and I am so glad I did. If you find yourself overwhelmed with life, read this book. The author writes as though she is giving advice to a friend. I feel as though I have known her for years. I will be buying copies for friends and family.

What a refreshing look at modern motherhood from the timeless perspective of Scripture. If you're in the midst of raising children, managing schedules and feeling as if the weight of the family rests on your shoulders, please read this encouraging, witty and truth-filled book in which Kristin Funston shows us how to embrace what God has FOR us rather than what He needs FROM us.

More for Mom is a simple and relatable book that points weary moms towards Christ. We all feel like we are failing and falling short but Kristin's authentic point of view reminds us that we are not alone! We no longer have to feel isolated in motherhood. Thank you, Kristin!

In "More for Mom" Kristin writes like she is your girlfriend sitting down to coffee. She weaves humor with huge helpings of truth throughout the book. "More for Mom" is a breath of fresh air in a "should do more" "could do more" culture in which we live. She encourages moms to drop what they perceive they need to be and to depend on what has already been done FOR them, through Jesus. As I read the book, I felt myself exhaling expectations that I place on myself, and inhaled the more that is available to me in my current reality. I would encourage moms of all walks to read this must needed timely message!

More for Mom is an encouragement for moms in all stages! Kristin uses biblical truth and real life humor to point us toward Christ and the abundant life he has for us.

This book is so encouraging for Moms who are raising kids and are overwhelmed. Kristin is so encouraging and reminds us that with God at the center of our lives, there is more FOR us in the holiness of parenting if we only rely on the Lord. She is very relatable and funny. Many times through the book I was saying “AMEN!” as I read! So good.

As moms, we are constantly giving our all to everyone and their needs, but as a mom of 4, I often find myself depleted, exhausted and overwhelmed by all the needs I have to meet before my own. Kristin reminds us that God is with us, that he is here to give us the strength, encouragement and peace to help us decrease (and hopefully put an end to) our overwhelm by looking to him first. She weaves scripture and stories throughout the book to let us know that she's also a mom in the trenches while offering ways to help us lean deeper into our relationship with him. When we do, our load will become lighter because we no longer have to carry our burdens alone.

Kristin is so fun and witty in this book which makes it for such an easy read. It's such an uplifting book for moms especially young moms. A few of my favorite take-aways from the book are that as moms we always think we have to be perfect, but Jesus has already bridged that gap for us and we are perfect in his eyes! Just that daily reminder for moms is so important during those long days at the beginning. She really walks moms through life to encourage them to make sure they continue to follow their dreams and passions of the work that Christ has created us for! This book does a great job of threading scripture throughout. It was a great read!

More for Mom is a book that helps you see yourself with Grace as God sees you. It lifts that burden off you so that you can enjoy your life the way God intended. I loved reading the book, and it encouraged me in a way that I did not expect. This book is a must read for any Mama who wants to live a full life.

This book was such a refreshing and motivating encouragement to me. I've been a mom for over 2 decades and still was able to glean inspiration from it's pages. Kristin offers up encouragement and practical biblical advice for every mom, no matter the age. She reminds us, that God is for us and wants to help us during the difficult times. I will be purchasing this book for my mom friends! I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. However, this review is purely my own opinion.

This is a great book for not just those Moms of littles, but Moms with kids of any age! Kristin weaves honesty, love, and humor into this book. She breaks down practical advice on how to be in each moment and to not get as overwhelmed as more and more is asked of us because God has more for us.

Fantastic reminder that we are holy because of HIM and not because of our works, that we cannot base our opinions on people's social media highlight reels, and that NO ONE has it all together. AND IT'S ALL OKAY- WE DON'T HAVE TO BECAUSE HE DOES! I absolutely loved this book. The conversational writing style made me feel as if I was sitting across from Kristin chatting over coffee. Such an easy read and truly a breath of fresh air.

More for Mom is a great book! It really shows that we can be Christian and mother's to our children at the same time. It's OK to say no to yet another request in order to parent your children. All Christian mothers need to read this book! Disclaimer: I received an Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for my honest review..

Good book for us Moms who have felt worn out, squeezed out, or just plain tired out! We've forgotten what God has for us, as His daughters! We forget that He wants to minister to us too, even as we are ministering and serving everyone else. I especially enjoyed Kristin's chapter on fasting and being creative with our time with God. Sometimes we need to meet Him, even in the chaos, or if you're me...especially during the chaos!! God's still got for more me! I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Definitely a great book it reminded me to slow down and enjoy life. Wish I had this book several years ago when I first became a mom.
