Every ancient legend begins with a grain of truth.

Ceri always knew she was different. Seeing people's auras and being able to change the weather with her moods just isn't normal, nor does she understand why simply being around others saps her of her strength. There's no one she can turn to; who she is and where she comes from are the biggest mysteries of all.

Settled into a small college town, she immerses herself in studies of the supernatural and lives a solitary existence. Until he crosses her path and comes to her rescue.

After earning his master's in criminal justice, there's no plausible reason for Edan to stick around campus. There's only a feeling. A feeling of destiny and purpose that calls to his ancient Highland ancestry and keeps him right where he is.

When he meets Ceri, his purpose becomes clear. He can't explain it, but she needs him, and he'll go to great lengths to protect her.

In their search for answers, Ceri and Edan learn there's a lot more to the world than either of them ever imagined. The lines between reality and myth blur as they discover ancient magic, hidden realms, and the truth about who – and what – they really are: pawns in a game that's been played for millennia.

Will Ceri and Edan embrace the destinies that have already been written for them? Or will they sacrifice everything to be together?

More Than Mortal is a stand-alone, Fae-based paranormal romance that will change everything you thought you know about faeries.

About the Author

Abbie Zanders is the author of more than 40 published romance novels ranging from contemporary to paranormal and everything in between. She promises her readers two things: happily ever afters, always, and no cliffhangers, ever.

Born and raised in the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, she has degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. She worked for more than twenty-five years as a software engineer, designing and writing financial applications, though she has also held second jobs as a deli clerk, pub waitress, restaurant baker, and secretary that she draws upon to give real-life dimension to her characters.

Abbie has been crafting stories since elementary school, though she has only recently decided to start sharing them with others. When she's not escaping into another world of her own creation, she's a busy wife and mother of three, including a set of identical twins. Besides being an avid reader and writer, she loves animals (especially big dogs), American muscle cars, and 80's hair bands.

Holy @#!!! That was Amazing!!! This author never fails to entertain me! She has a way of bringing you into the story and keeping you there. I read this book it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down, I was drawn into Edan and Ceri’s world and didn't come out of it until the end. This was an amazing story with great characters. You will not regret adding this book to your library!!! I think every girl would love to have a Guardian(Edan)in their life!

Ms. Zanders books are always a guaranteed buy for me. This book ventures into new territory for her, and was well executed. I cannot say that it was my favorite of her books, it is definitely a solid read. The book does get a bit heavy in the middle, but the payoff if there if you read through (Part of me likened it to when I wanted to pitch Sherrilyn Kenyon's Acheron out the window in the middle...not the same type of angst as Archeron, but a heaviness that gives weight to the book). Ceri isn't my favorite heroine (I personally gravitate to a bit more spine...though I don't have to be able to put myself into the heroine); but I did enjoy Edan and he strikes me as more in the "mold" of what we are used to from Ms. Zanders hero's. The ploting is on par with what I expect from an Abbie Zanders books, and the world building leaves me wanting to see where she will go next. All in all, while it may not go immediately onto my "read again" shelf, it is a solid book, good read, and I can't wait to see what she has waiting for readers next.

This is a completely different take on paranormal! Ceri knows she is different but she never truly realizes just how different until her whole life changes in an instant. When she runs into trouble and Edan comes to her rescue, not only do they become closer than what they expect but it creates problems that could be beyond life changing for the both of them. This was definitely different than what I was expecting but it absolutely worked! Ceri and Edan are these characters that you can't help but love and want to know more about, all while rooting for them to get a HEA. And when they are separated, you just want to be able to find a way for them to come back together again. I don't want to say too much because I feel like it would be a spoiler, but if you like PNR then you will definitely like this one! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because there was one character that I truly couldn't stand and what he did to her without any repercussion's just made me mad. But honestly, I think that is just a preference thing for me!

Fantastic! Awesome! Wow! (all too tame for my feelings about this book) I know it sounds cliched but I read for the story. I love fantasy, romance, and sci-fi in all forms (except westerns). This story hit's it out of the ballpark, with bases loaded, at the bottom of the 9th, with 2 outs, and the score 9-6 (and I'm not a sports fan). These characters are amazing and the author spent the time to let us get to know all of them. She gave us some to love and some to loathe (I had very strong feelings against a certain fire and earth hedonist but thankfully he was redeemed). The story itself brings together different mythologies and intertwines them to perfection. This is a tale of love, loss, duty, sacrifice, redemption, friendships, and more. Even when I wasn't reading this book, the characters and story were on my mind. I really hope that the author continues with this fantastic world she has built, as updates on Edan and Ceri are required and several characters will need there own story told (like Xane and Maggie). Don't wait, grab this book and start reading!

Wow! This book was wonderful. I felt so much for all the characters, especially the emotional roller coaster ride that was Ceri and Edan's story. From the start, I was drawn into these characters' plight. In the beginning, it was their confusion. Then as their relationship grew and story line progressed it was their love and heartache. Ah, it was such a beautiful story. And the detail! Abbie does such a wonderful job of transporting her readers into the story. The description of the settings really brought the places to life. One of my favorite places in the story is the Highland village. I keep finding myself picturing it when I let my mind wander. Honestly, I've yet to read a book by Abbie Zanders that I did not like and More Than Mortal is no exception. I loved it!
