About the Author

Liz Roth started writing many years ago, even before she retired from the medical profession. Wasting many years thinking she was a romance writer but always having to deal with the pesky villains who kept popping up in all her stories, she finally gave up and decided since she read mysteries and obviously wrote them, why fight it? She now calls what she writes Romantic Mystery (RM) since there is always a little romance involved.

She also writes cozy mysteries series called, "The Clueless Cook Mysteries" for Berkley Prime Crime under the name, Liz Lipperman.

WOW! And I mean WOW!. This book has so many twists and turns it felt like a ride at DisneyLand, without the kids. Unpreditable doesn't even being to describe this book. Loved every minute of it.

What would do if you found out your nephew was dying? Dani Perez’s twin sister’s son is dying. There is a long shot cure that would save him but can Dani follow through on the crazy plan the sisters come up with. She is also trying to clear her husband’s name. He was killed during a bust and has been labeled a “dirty cop”. Her entire world is turned upside down as she tries to complete and survive both missions. Dollycas’s Thoughts This is one of those stories that I don’t want to tell you too much about so that I don’t ruin any of the suspense. I read the whole thing in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. This is a exciting story with really strong family relationships. The things we do for love. Dani puts her life on the line for both her nephew and her husband’s memory. The author takes us with these characters on a journey of love, loss, surprise, tension, fear, worry, and hope in an extraordinary way. This is my first Liz Roth novel that I would classify as a romantic thriller. I hope she has another one it the works because I definitely want more!! I highly recommend this one.

I loved this book! Great romance, edge of your seat suspense, and a fabulous conclusion you won't see coming. Roth has a knack for romantic suspense, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Mortal Deception is a fantastic book by a phenomenal author! Dani is a former cop turned private investigator. Her husband, who was also a cop, was killed and she is trying to find out why. Dani will do anything for her family and sometimes gets in over her head. She tries to prove her husband's innocence and save her nephew's life while unwittingly putting her own life in danger. I loved the fast paced action, the twists and turns and the way this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this book!
