Very complete densely packed data, but no easy way to search contents, MUST PAGE THROUGH tiny print to hope to locate the information YOU want. Needs revision to include search function or Index with hyperlinks to relevant pages. There are literally tens of pages on any one food, exhaustive choices, but if all you want is data to record your last meal - little help.

This a great reference tool to figure out the sugar, carbs, calorie content of items. I like that there is a nice section for some of the restaurants. I use the restaurant section a lot before I go out to eat so I can plan my meal ahead of time. This allows me the opportunity to eat out with family and friends but not kill my diet.

My doctor handed me a piece of the paper that informed me I could help myself lowering my cholestrol by following a 1500 calorie diet not to exceed 200 grams of cholestrol and not more than 9 percent saturated fat. I looked at the 9 percent saturated fat written on that note and my first thought was, I better hit B-Dalton and see if there exists a book that can assist me. The Lady at B-Dalton took me right to The Most Complete Food Counter. The Most Complete Food Counter not only taught me that a female needs 7 percent saturated fat, it also taught me how to do the math to figure the 7 percent. This book has loads of useful information, including how to figure Body Mass Index. It's a great investment.

I had to go on a diet, this was the first time I had ever gone on a diet. I knew nothing about calories and how much calories this food or that food contained. One of the reason that my diet was so successful was due to this book. Example Peach - it would show you a long list, fresh peach - calories, canned peaches by brand name calories, etc. I think the peaches had a 1 1/2 - 2 pages just for a peach. It was very thorough, extremely helpful. In the back it also listed foods from restaurant types and other restaurants. If you are going on a diet and want to know things like calories, carbs, fat, sugar, fiber, etc, etc, etc. I considered this my diet bible. I'm still using it even though I'm not on the strict diet that I started on.
