What a great read! I have enjoyed this series so much and this recent installment is excellent. Linda Ladd continues to build her characters so beautifully; making them real and quite believable. This story of a sadistic serial killer is dark and freighting; yet Ms. Ladd interjects a wonderful sense of dry humor that allows the reader welcomed relief from the darkness. If you have not read the other books in this series don’t hesitate to pick this up and read away because it can most certainly stand on its own. However be for warned, as you are sure to want to read the other five books in the Clair Morgan saga.

The latest in the Claire Morgan series does not disappoint! With each new book in this series I find myself wondering if it will hold up to the last. Each book is just as good as the last. I love a good thriller with just enough romance mixed in to lighten the subject at the right moment. Ms. Ladd has made me a fan! I have no idea how she comes up with the storylines of her various serial killers but she creates a villian beyond compehension and keeps your interest to the very end.

Thrilling. Demented. Twisted. As usual, Linda Ladd puts you through the paces of really evil and unthinkable crime from two perspectives... the killer s and the intrepid Claire Morgan's. ...wjj

Frightening. Ladd writes nightmare fuel. Details of children and adults being tortured.

This series is getting really good I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading Mostly Murder. I hated whenever I had to put it down. Can't wait to read the next one. Stephanie Clanahan

Title: Mostly Murder - Clair Morgan Mystery Book 6 Author: Linda Ladd Published: 12-5-13 Publisher: Kensington Books Pages: 354 Genre: Mystery, Thrillers, & Suspense Sub Genre: Women Detectives ISBN: 9781601830517 ASIN: B00DV1ISPO Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley . I will warn you that this is a series you will quickly become addicted to. This is a murder mystery darker that I usually read, but the description caught my attention and I had to read it. I have never any of Linda Ladd's work before and coming into the middle of a series can be difficult as I can have a hard time trying to see how all the characters fit together. I was surprised how easy it was to catch up on events from earlier books so that Mostly Murder flowed smoothly. I was able to read without getting lost. The characters are so diversified and well developed with varied levels of complexity. At first I did find Nick a bit hovering and controlling, but as I got into the story I understood why and could sympathize as to his reasons for wanting to keep her safe. Clair Morgan and Nicolas Black have returned to where both spent time when they growing up. Clair is participating in a law enforcement exchange program and Nick, a psychiatrist for the rich and famous around the world, is opening another hotel. He has purchased and restored a home of mansion proportions. It is staffed with a cook/housekeeper & groundskeeper/major domo couple that also doubles as body guards and security. Nick is off in England when a serial killer begins a reign of terror. Malice enjoys inflicting terror on others and he has been perfecting his techniques since he was a young boy and practiced on his sister and cousin. As the body count grows Clair and her team try to figure out why a voodoo doll with a picture of Clair's face attached is found at the crime scenes. Is this the time Clair has finally met her match or can Nick keep her safe from the killer obsessed with her.

Good book as usual.  But unfortunately, I guessed the villain near the beginning of the book.  Her earlier books surprised me more.

As usual, Linda Ladd comes through with a suspense filled story that keeps her reader guessing. I did love the story, but I did miss the Lake of the Ozarks setting and characters. Can't wait to see where this series goes next.
