The book is really good, it made me cry. The only thing I didn't like was that it was in third person.

Life Goes On Lurlene McDaniel is a phenomenal writer. She captures events in peoples' lives, and makes the reader feel like they're actually experiencing it as well. The book I'm reviewing is called Mother Please Don't Die.It is about tomboy Megan McCaffrey's life, and dealing with many trials in her teenage life as well.Megan learns to deal with boy troubles and drama at school, while coping with her mother's diagnosis of cancer. It's autumn, and school is starting. The book passes from that autumn to the following spring. The main character is Megan,a 16yearold tomboy. She plays softball and is extremely competitive.Megan has a hard time accepting things;she refused to believe her mom could die from brain cancer for one,and she is extremely upset that her crush,John Paul,is dating someone other than her.The book expresses these feelings in this quote that says,"The muggy September air closed in around her. In the distance,Megan thought she recognized JohnPaul and Becky.Megan felt a strange fluttering sensation in her chest, and a bad taste rose to her mouth.Becky and JohnPaul.Together.She looked away and quickly crossed the street".Audrey McCaffrey is Megan's older sister. She is very uptight and strict.Audrey is very girly. She's getting married to Brent pretty soon, and that is all she ever talks about. She and Megan don't really get along, merely because they don't have any similar interests. At the start of the book, her actions prove this,"Audrey tossed her strawberry curls and glared at Megan.'Can't you do anything quietly? And get that filthy mitt off the counter!I declare,Megan, when are you going to start acting your age? You're thirteen, and you're still grubbing around on a baseball lot like a sand rat!'Audrey wrinkled her nose in disgust'Well you better take some lessons, little sister. If you don't get your act together,no boy is ever going to date you, much less ask you to marry him".The next character is Mrs.McCaffrey.She gets headaches daily they were sometimes so bad that she would be bedridden for the entire day,and be shut out in darkness. One day, she collapsed at the house,so she got rushed to the hospital after she had a seizure. It was then that the family found out she had a cancerous tumor in her brain. She got radiation to kill it off,and that was working for a while, but then she just got weaker and weaker.Megan finally had the realization that her mom may not live. She figured this out at Audrey and Brent's wedding.Once when she was bedridden at home from a headache, the reader truly got to see how awful it was. This is when Megan came in to comfort her mother,"Even in the shadows Megan could see the pinched corners of her mother's mouth, the closed eyelids, the deep, dark circles under her eyes.Megan gently eased herself onto the bed and lifted her mother's hand in hers. Then, there's the sweet, innocent Thad. He's the youngest child in the McCaffrey family. He takes the news about his mother very badly;this is mainly because he doesn't really understand. He was wide-eyed,and trembling when the doctor told the family about their mother's condition.Absolutely everything was shocking and surprising to him. When the doctor was telling the family about the tumor for the first time, this is how Thad reacted,"My colleague,Dr. Nash,is an excellent neurosurgeon who'll operate Thad leaped to his feet.Youre going to cut open my mother's head?Don't do that. Can I see my mom?'Thad askedchewing on his lowerlip.Megan knew he was on the verge of tear
