I've known about Mothership ever since it released a couple years ago and always found myself wanting to read it because it sounded SO ridiculous. This was a pretty fun book. Elvie is an awesome main character who kicks ass and doesn't let anyone get in her way. She realizes she got herself into this pregnancy situation and handles is quite well. Especially when her dad (who is also awesome) wants to send her to this space teen pregnancy school. She also has an awesome best friend, Ducky, back down on Earth. Cole, on the other hand, is not the brightest person. To be honest, he is just plain stupid and I don't know how he has lived this long without getting himself killed. But in a strange way, I found myself wanting him and Elvie to get together, even though he was a jerk and ran away after Elvie told him she was pregnant. This is a fun book that you can't judge too harshly because it's meant to make fun of all the stereotypes out there. So if you want to read something light and fun with humor then this is a good book to read.

After reading Bailey's review (from IB Book blogging), I had to read this one, and I'm glad I did.  Honestly, this one was fun. Elvie Nara is one smart cookie, usually, except when it comes to Cole.  Gorgeous, dumb as a brick, Cole. For some reason, being around him makes all the smart thoughts fly out of her head, and that is how she ended up pregnant and shipped off to the Hanover School for Expecting Teen Mothers. Even then she is doing okay until the ship is invaded and it just so happens that one of the invaders is Cole.  Cole who took off the minute that she told him that she was expecting. As I said, this one was FUN! An easy read and definitely not something that I had read before.  Elvie was definitely the strong character.  She was smart and didn't need to be 'saved', and she has some great one liners.  Funny and engaging. A definite fun read for the summer!

I loved it, it had so many funny and shocking moments in it. The ending is to shocking to not have a second book.

A really fun and crazy book. I totally enjoyed this book; great characters, extreme situations and a heroine who is smart, gutsy and kicka$$. A slightly skewed vision of the future and a teenagers pov make for a rollercoaster ride of thrills, spills and guffaws. Enjoy!
