Set in the beautiful hills of Columbia County, the 'old' clashes with the 'new' as weekenders and second home owners gradually contest for primacy in the community and reshape its character. Muller, caught in these forces, struggles to uncover the mystery and bring redemption to himself and the land. Rich with local folklore, his story is beautiful and moving, about biblical truths, lost love and the redemptive power that can reshape life in the face of tragedy.

I'm only about a 1/3 of the way into this book. So far I am finding it a very slow read because I am having a hard time staying interested in it. Chose to read it because it is based in the area I live and grew up in.
