Mountain of Whispers (Island of Fog, Book 3) by Keith Robinson

"Whisper Mountain is the lair of the beast," say the frightened mountain elves. "Beware the Shadow Demon, for it will hunt you down and eat you alive."

Hal and his friends weren't looking for another adventure, but this was a mission they couldn't ignore.

Whisper Mountain gets its name from the frequent cries of ghosts echoing down the mountain, the souls of victims who have run afoul of the demon. Who in their right mind would venture into the old elfin temple? But according to a crazy old soothsayer, the mountain is "the key to everything."

Miss Simone has more immediate problems to deal with: a squad of soldiers from Hal's old world has been spotted coming through the 'hole' in the Labyrinth of Fire. Will this lead to a friendly integration of virus survivors, or an industrialized, technologically advanced human invasion that threatens the land forever?

The shapeshifters set off to the mountain, hoping all this talk of demons and ghosts is just superstitious nonsense. What they find there surprises everybody...

MOUNTAIN OF WHISPERS is the third book in the ISLAND OF FOG series.

Ive enjoyed reading about hal and abigal and the gang going through adventure after adventure in this rich world full of interesting characters. The book is well thought out and written. I was impressed with the flow. The story was written for children but the writing was very adult with a coherent plot with very few holes. Im a fan of the trilogy and will continue to read more of this series. I suggest it for children 10 and up. I also suggest it to adults who just want to get lost in a fantasy series that doesnt have graphic violence. Hal and his friends are often in danger, but there is no gore or inappropriateness to it. This series is a page turner and very enjoyable.

I have always wondered about the mind of someone who writes about the most inocent creature on the face of the Earth, a child, as if they are a focus for attacks from the evil one. Creepy story in a whole creepy series, I would not recommend this for your children.
