For over 35 years, James Johnson has been engaged in professional fundraising. He has worked on more than 30 major campaigns, from $2 million to $500 million. Dr. Johnson has raised over $1 billion dollars. In 2005 he received The President’s Volunteer Service Award for his work on the Red Cross HEROES Campaign. James has served in various roles, including Director of Economic Development, Senior Vice President for Advancement, University President, Founder and CEO of Ethos Leadership Group, Founding Principal of Park Bench Fundraising, Senior Faculty for The Institute For Charitable Giving, and Senior Principal for Jerold Panas, Linzy, and Partners.
James received a Bachelor Of Arts from Lubbock Christian University in Communication, a Master Of Arts, and a Doctorate In Organizational Communication from Texas Tech University with an honors program at Indiana University, along with post-Doctorate work at Harvard University. Dr. Johnson’s previous books include “Twenty for 20: Twenty Strategies to Increase Your Fundraising 20 Percent”, Ketch Publishing.
James and his wife Lesa are Texans who moved to Chattanooga to live closer to their grandangels.
