We purchased five Mr. Putter & Tabby for our neighbor. Emilee is seven. My wife is a teacher and she thought this series whould be good for her. In choosing the ones to buy I added Paint the Porch because it is a particular favorite of mine. All Mr. Putter & Tabby stories are good for early readers. The stories are entertaining and are illustrated wonderfully. I recommend these stories highly.

'Mr. Putter and Tabby Paint the Porch' by Cynthia Rylant is about Mr. Putter and his cat, Tabby. Mr. Putter decided to paint his house. After Mr. Putter painted the house, Tabby and the squirrel messed it up. Mr. Putter wondered who was going to help him fix the mess? I like this book because it is interesting and funny. Also it is a little crazy. Like the time the mouse was chasing the squirrel.
