Award-winning photographer Mark Nixon has created a trove of quirky and nostalgic portraits of teddy bears and other stuffed animals that have been lovingly abused after years of play. MuchLoved collects 60 of these images along with their accompanying background tales. An exhibit in the photographer’s studio led to a small sensation on the Internet when a few of the pictures circulated unofficially on scores of blogs and on many legitimate news sites. Viewers have been intrigued by the funny, bittersweet images and their ironic juxtaposition of childhood innocence and aged, loving wear and tear. When you see these teddy bears and bunnies with missing noses and undone stuffing, you can’t help but think back to childhood and its earliest companions who asked for nothing and gave a lot back.

My sister gave me this book for Christmas. It made me cry. I bet a lot more adults will come out of the "closet" with their "stuffed" stories. Everyone needs a copy in their homes.
I bought a copy for myself and for a good friend too. Very heartwarming photographs of stuffed animals that may be threadbare and saggy and worn, but still charming. I enjoyed the history of the toy also. I am a grandma and still have my teddy bear that I have had since I was a toddler, and I still buy stuffed animals now and then if they wave at me! So this book really appealed to me. Hope to see a sequel, and one on old dolls also!
My friend gave this to me as a gift since she knows that I still have my old stuffed animals. I absolutely loved this book! It is very charming, sweet, funny, and heartwarming. The photos are wonderful, and the descriptions by the owners are so whimsical and funny. I ordered four more copies for my friends. Highly recommend.
If you once loved a stuffed toy in your past, this is a great read. I love all the pictures that go with each story. Brought back lots of warm memories from my childhood.
