Mud Cakes In The Sand

Mud Cakes In The Sand

by Kassandra J. Stephens

This story takes place in a large U.S. city during one of the worst recessions in U.S. history. It begins when Jeduthun Barrett, who is unemployed, is awakened in the wee hours of the morning to a strange sound in his bedroom. Jeduthun meets 5 characters who become victorious over many difficult issues of life. Jeduthun has other strange encounters, in the wee hours of the morning, as this mystery unfolds to deliver a cataclysmic crescendo of events.

There in the vast sea of sand were five still moist mudcakes,
which actually were sand castles that had been so beautifully sculptured and were towering toward the sky. It was as if the Holy Spirit were whispering to Jeduthun's spirit when he heard the question: "Didn't I mold and make you as the potter does the clay?
Though I made you from the earth, I have placed within you that part of me which will allow you to stand as a rock in the midst of adversity. Look around you. Do you know of any others that you have interacted with over this past year who are like these mud cakes, standing strong in the midst of adversity, like a rock?"
