Overview

Multiple Motives (Kate Huntington Series #1) by Kassandra Lamb

Psychotherapist Kate Huntington helps other people cope with the horrible things that have happened to them, but she herself has led a charmed life... until now. When a series of what seem like random events-a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time-takes a sinister twist, it becomes apparent that she and her lawyer friend, Rob Franklin, have a common enemy.

But the lead police detective has a different theory. He's convinced Kate and Rob are lovers attempting to eliminate their spouses. And he seems determined to build a case against them. As the attacks escalate, Kate and Rob are forced to investigate on their own. Who hates them enough to want them both dead? And doesn't seem to mind if others get caught in the crossfire!

(All books in this series are also designed to be read and enjoyed as stand-alones.)

About the Author

In her youth, Kassandra Lamb had to decide which of her two greatest passions, writing or psychology, she would pursue as a career. Being partial to food, heat and electricity, she opted for psychology. Now that she's retired from her career as a psychotherapist, she can focus on creating an alternate universe in which her protagonist, Kate Huntington, is always the kind, generous and insightful person that Kassandra wishes she was herself.

When she's not at her computer, transported in mind and spirit into the world of her characters, Kassandra physically lives in Florida and Maryland, with her husband and her Alaskan Husky, Amelia.

Kassandra was born in Baltimore and lived in Maryland for the first 50 years of her life. Like Kate Huntington, she was a specialist in trauma recovery for two decades. She also taught psychology at Towson University and still teaches part-time in Florida.

Good read. Conclusion was a bit anti-climactic. ...and yes, it's possible for males & females to have close (platonic) friendships. :-) :-)

What a GREAT introduction to a new series of mystery books. OK. So I am very late to this party. Apparently the series started back in 2011 and Book #6 in the series has already been published, with a new one due out soon. So ... what can I say? I am now going to binge on all the other books in the series. I am totally in love with ALL of the characters in this book - not just the title heroine. Such a wonderful story of what friends and family mean (or should mean) to one another. So one to book #2. Let's see what happens next.

Enjoyed this book Chanel my mind about who was the bad guy several times but I had the correct person my first time I definitely would have been jealous of Kate if I was Liz

Stereotype on male/female relationship is so ironic in the world today. Lamb will hold your attention by not wanting to put this page turner down needing to figure out who are after the friends.

Great story, I read this book in one sitting. Iam an avid reader that has many varried tastes in books. Lately I have been reading more and more, mystery books. I highly recommend giving this book a chance, Rob was kinda mushy but some women like that! I was wrong about the perp thruth entire book, that doesn't happen very often, even after the arrest and confession, I was wating for more drama. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talent withus.

Good story, interesting, complex characters. I figured out who the perpetrator was, toward the end of the book. Not sure one therapist in a private practice would have 2 patients with a diagnosis of multiple personalities but then this is a book of fiction. Good read.

Good character development. Loved the relationships as the friends worked together to keep everyone safe while solving the mystery of who was behind all the crimes. Will definitely read more of the series.

As a an avid reader of mysteries since the 1950s, it is nearly impossible for me to find one that I cannot unravel in the first chapter or two. This writer gets my "hats off!" award. I had no clue as to the ending until I got there. Best read ever.
