Overview

Murder On Elbrus by Charles G. Irion

Murder on Elbrus begins with world famous mountaineer Scott Devlon scarcely recovered from the disaster told in Murder on Everest, when he is sent to observe an EU sponsored conference in southern Russia. This casual assignment turns deadly with the murder of a Russian official atop Europe's highest mountain. Joined by the beautiful Natasha, the most powerful woman in the media world, Scott must run for his life, uncertain of her loyalties and true motives. Joined by a tread worn CIA agent, a Russian mobster and Georgian nationalist, they flee across war torn Chechnya with the Russian army in hot pursuit. Along the way ethnic vendettas play out while old secrets are revealed. Scott can't know where his greater enemy lies: with him or on the fields of fire. Set against the bleak terrain of the north Caucasus this action packed thriller unfolds at a breakneck pace. The Summit Murder Mystery Series is a unique set of novels. Join authors Charles G. Irion and Ronald J. Watkins for this extraordinary journey of exciting exploits and murder atop each of the seven major continental summits, beginning with Murder on Everest.

About the Author

Charles G. Irion is an author, adventurer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. In the 1970s, Irion began his career in commercial real estate development and brokerage. In 1983, he founded U.S. Park Investments, a company that owns and brokers manufactured home and RV communities. In 2007, Irion founded Irion Books LLC and began writing and publishing books. His first book was Remodeling Hell—one of four books he authored as part of the Hell Series. This was followed by Autograph Hell, Car Dealer Hell, and Divorce Hell. Inspired by real-life events, these books are true stories created by actual (hellish) events that infuriated Irion to the point of wanting to expose the demons through his writings. He is donating all of the net proceeds of his Hell Series to victims of fraud.

While writing the Hell Series, Irion began work on the Summit Murder Mystery Series. The impetus behind the murder mystery series was his participation in a 1987 expedition to Mount Everest from the China side. Irion couldn’t resist creating plot-twisting, adventure-filled stories against the backdrop of the world’s deadliest mountains, the Seven Summits.

Over the past thirty years, Irion has also garnered a large collection of recipes from resident RV campers. More than 350 of these can be found in his book Roadkill Cooking for Campers: The Best Dang Wild Game Cookbook in the World.

Irion holds a Masters of Business Administration in International Marketing and Finance from the American Graduate School of International Management and Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Biology and Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. As an explorer, Irion has visited more than sixty countries and is an accomplished SCUBA diver. He is also the founder of a children’s dictionary charity, a founding member of Phoenix Social Venture Partners, and past president of a local Lions Club. Irion lives in Arizona.
