FIVE STARS! "A most delightful novel." -- Readers' Favorite.
Mona Moon is not your typical young lady. She is a cartographer by trade, explorer by nature, and adventurer by heart. But there's a problem.
Miss Mona is broke. It's during the Depression, and National Geographic has just turned down her application to join an expedition to the Amazon.
What's she to do? Perhaps get a job as a department store salesgirl. Anything to tide her over until a next assignment.
There's a knock on the door. Who could this be in the middle of the night? Holding a revolver, Mona reluctantly opens her door to a man wearing a Homburg hat and holding a briefcase.
"I bring glad tidings. Your Uncle Manfred Moon has died and left you as his heir to the Moon fortune. You are now one of the richest women in the country!" he says.
Mona's response is to point her revolver in his face. If the stranger is telling the truth, she will apologize. If he is a fraud, she will shoot him.
That's how Mona does things in 1933.

Mona embraces characteristics which makes her a wonderful role model. Mona is in charge of her life. She treats others fairly and looks after those less able to stand up for themselves. The story moves forward with twists and turns. The descriptions are vivid and make the reader feel as though they are right there with Miss Mona. Great read!

What a great afternoon read, with a wonderful plot, well developed characters, and a writing style that kept me hooked to the end. Every time I tried to put it down to go run and errand or do some task, I felt pulled back. I gave up and read cover to cover. Mona Moon finds out she's an heiress, no longer having to eke out a living. She's inherited a huge mansion, a horse farm, an outreagous fortune...and someone who wants to kill her. She gets introduced to an unloving family and untrusting servants. It's up to Mona to solve the mystery and turn it all around. If you like cozies and mysteries, this is the series for you. The first book is brilliant. Ms. Keam has a great deal of talent and you'll be just as hooked as I was. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

If you like the Australian Miss Fisher mysteries I think you will love Miss Mona Moon. Well paced stories with action. Wonderful characters. I’ve just started the second title and preordered the third.
