A Candle Glows
In the deep, deep night, in my deepest anguish,
In one lonely corner of the room,
My weary soul is knelt in prayer;
And through my tears I see
The sweet, sweet face of Jesus,
The bleeding heart of Jesus
As a candle glows.
A candle glows for you my love,
To light your path in the darkest night,
In this stormy night, my love.
Like the fire of love in the Sacred Heart
Of Jesus, to Jesus I leave you my love.
Close your eyes, sleep in peace
As in my heart, I shall kiss you good night
And my fingers stroke your hair,
As I gently lay your head on the pillow
And in my soul I shall keep all the love
That shall burn evermore
As a candle glows.
A candle glows deep in my heart.
For in this heart is the truest love
That only God can see.
Oh fire of love, burn in my heart!
Keep burning, just burning
To warm my sweet love!
In this cold winter night,
Keep him warm, safe from harm,
Bless his dreams, watch he doesn't wake
To see the storm outside
In this lonely night;
The raging wind that tries to blow
The candle's glow.
My soul shall stay up in the night
To watch my love,
As a candle glows!

I see my world crashing in pain.
And, yet, I beg you not to cry
As you watch me walk away.

Such a forbidden world!
What a curse to love
Someone you just can't have!
You said with sadness we should
part,
Soft-spoken words that were just
tearing you apart!
But your eyes could not conceal
The hidden passions that your
heart yearns to reveal
And right or wrong, our love is
true.
My dearest moments are with you.
It breaks my heart to have to say
"I shouldn't enter your world!"
I shouldn't enter your world.
Such a forbidden world!

Someone you just can't have!

But, for tonight come softly, love,

Take my warm breath in a kiss
And make me deaf to the world
And all its pride.

Which, with all yearning,

My heart feels nothing
But the love and the joy

With deepest love,

But it breaks this heart that

As in my mind,
I hear the words
"I shouldn't enter your world!"

It breaks my heart to hear you say I'm numb.
I'm cold, cold as a rock, with a heart of stone!
Yet tears roll down my cheeks for you alone.
If this isn't caring, then I don't know how else to tell you.

I'm crushed, crushed from within, you'll never know.
Now tears well from my eyes, I can't say "good bye!"

These Are the Hands
You took my hand, my love, and the world stood still.
I couldn't look at you, afraid I'd show the love I feel.
But you pressed my hand and held it warm and tenderly
'Till I felt a secret love within, from your hand to my hand.
So help me God as I off er these hands —
This pair of hands, these little hands of mine.
These are the hands, to help you build your plans,
You can reach out anytime, untiringly patient and kind.
And when you come home at the end of the day,
These loving hands will greet you to fade all your hardships away.
And, Honey, when you're feeling low, please don't go, just stay,
For, in my arms, you'd watch the setting of the day!
These are the hands, my love, clasped in silent pray'r —
The very hands of love to heal your wounds of deep despair.
And, Honey, now that we're young, it may sound funny,
But when we're old and gray, I'd ask you
To come and rest on these wrinkled hands,

Do you ever wonder how lovers find eternal love,
