Quinton Moore was raised in affluence while Ashley Miles grew up with nothingness. However, the rich CEO breaks all his habits to the point he feels almost like an obsessed stalker just to spend a few minutes with the building¿s cleaning lady mid twenties Ashley Miles who recently kissed him senseless, but rejects his advances since. He wants her even on her terms she feels the attraction from her head to her toes and all points in between, but fears giving up her hard earned independence and life goals. Besides she has no time for a man between two jobs and school especially a hunk who will discard her once his lust is satiated. When someone threatens her life, Quinton demands she move into his home for her protection. She reluctantly agrees, but wonders who will protect her heart from her host. As they fall in love, this adversary expands his attempted assault to include anyone that he observes Ashley seems to befriend his goal to destroy the meddling woman. A secondary character in JUDE¿S LAW, Quinton defies his namesake¿s law with optimism that when it comes to Ashley and him, love makes sure that everything that can go right will go right though it might take all night. Ashley is a delightful protagonist as her hard work to get ahead is inspirational. Their mutual desires makes for a heated romance with a matchmaking thug pushing them together with his obsession to kill her (though the why comes extremely late). Harriet Klausner

A great sequal to Jude's Law! I love how tough, independent, and quick witted Ashley is! I think Quinton's calmness and patience work well with Ashley's character. I will say I quit reading for a few days after the surprise at the hospital.. All I could think about was "not another book like this" but it actually didn't drag on like most books so I was happy in the end. Overall, the book was funny, exciting, and had some hot scenes!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I would suggest reading Jude's Law first which helps to set this one up. Ashley's honesty and upfrontness was a real treat...not one of those sappy girls!

Yes...there aren't many but who cares! I don't think this was meant to be based on a true story. I loved this book. I've never read this author, I will now. The best ending ever!!

'Murphy's Law' follows Lori's previous release 'Jude's Law', and readers will be thrilled to re-visit favorite characters from that book in her latest release. Quinton Murphy has been intrigued by fiercely independent Ashley Miles from the very beginning, but she won't give him the time of day. It isn't until they share a fireworks kind of a kiss that he realizes the attraction goes both ways, but the frustrating Miss Miles still refuses to act on those feelings with him. In fact if Quinton wasn't so self-confident, Ashley would deflate his ego like a balloon. He's never known a woman who is not impressed by what he has, and having to work so hard just to go out on a date with this maddening woman frustrates him, but it also gets his attention in a big way. Ashley has not had an easy life, but you won't find her crying about what she doesn't have. No, this woman has goals, and she's not afraid of a little hard work, or lack of sleep, in order to make them happen. After all, God granted her with plenty of energy and determination, and blessed her with May, the best friend Ashley could ever have imagined. Now her attraction to Murphy, as well as a persistent danger, threaten to wreck all of her carefully laid plans. But sometimes fate has other ideas, and sometimes those new plans are exactly what you need.... I have to say that I think Ashley is one of my favorite Foster heroines, right up there with Cyn. What I love most about her is that she's unapologetic about who she is. Determined to make it on her own, Ashley really gets her dander up when Quinton tries to coddle her, but is intelligent to know when she needs to assistance. She has pride and stubbornness, but not stupidity, thank God: many a heroine have been ruined by the 'too stupid too live' complex, yet fortunately Ashley is not one of them. She knows it's not a sign of weakness to ask for help when there are no other realistic options, and she's mature enough to do just that. And she doesn't soften up with just a few flattering words from Quinton either. If he wants to be with her, he has to take her as she is, and if he has a problem with that, well, tough. Then he's going to have to deal with it, not her. Quinton is the perfect complement to our prickly heroine: strong, self-assured, with an old-fashioned work ethic and an abiding love for children that endears him to his lady. Murphy may have grown up with all the privileges Ashley was forced to do without, but he does not believe he is entitled to a free ride. Instead he gives back, again and again, and there is no greater joy than in helping others reach their full potential. The lovely and fascinating Ashley does not fall right into his arms, which intrigues him, but it's her own work ethic and generous heart that has him falling head over heels in love. Life will never be boring with his little endearing tyrant -and Murphy just has to convince Ashley of this, which he will do with pleasure. The exchanges between the two are amusing and invigorating, and Ms. Foster has a way of writing hot love scenes that are lush, romantic, and sexy in the way they enfold, yet not too explicit or overpowering for the story. Physical intimacy between two consenting and mature adults is something to be embraced, not something to be embarrassed about and certainly not anything to be ashamed of, and in a Foster story that is exactly what you can expect: earthy, passionate scenes that show how being responsible and considerate of your partner can be very sexy and fulfilling. Turn up those fans, readers!

Lori Foster always writes a fun engaging romance story, and "Murphy's Law" as a re-release shows how much great storytelling never goes out of style. A hunky millionaire that will melt your heart, a feisty woman that has a plan for her life, and a killer on the loose, what could go wrong, or how will it right itself? Quinton and Ashley's story was one such storyline. Quinton found that all of his money couldn't sway a strong-willed Ashley to change her timeline on her life's plan. What Ashley hadn't counted on was her timeline changing somewhat with a killer after her while falling in love with Quinton. The story was released originally in 2006, with the author writing of strong women and the men who loved them. A book for the ages and the romance lover, it is a must have for your bookshelf. Thank you to Zebra/Kensington Books for gifting me "Murphy's Law". My opinion is my own. This is mine 4.25 Stars!

Murphy’s Law is funny intense love story. Great story with a lot of humor, steamy scenes, suspense and full of emotions. Rely good written book with great personalities. Quinton and Ashley are both likable really great people. I loved that they admitted their mistakes although they were both stubborn they knew when to step aside and except the reality of situation. They dialogues are awesome full of humor, teasing but also about serious important thing. They both fall unexpectedly hard and fast for each other and passion that they have is sooo explosive. HOT. Really great read. Recommended for the one who like to laugh and love good suspense in a book. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

I liked this read. Ashley and Quinton are complete opposites but work together. This is a fast paced read with plenty of drama. The story is fun and Ashley is so entertaining. A really good read.

'Murphy's Law' by Lori Foster is book Two in the "Law" series. This is the story of Ashley Miles and Quinton Murphy. I haven't read the previous book so for me this was a standalone book. This book didn't cover the meeting of Ashley and Quinton...so I assume that was in the previous book. Also know that this book was previously released around 2006. This new version does have a new cover on it too. This was a sweet romance with a determine man (Quinton) who seemed to know what he wants. A women who thought she knew what she wants but Quinton is slowly changing that. This does have some drama with someone who is after Ashley...but Quinton is trying to keep her safe. "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Quinton Murphy has the hots for Ashley Miles. He is rich and she is not. She has a plan that will see her secure with dreams fulfilled if she continues to work more than one job while going to college. She does not have time for romance so does not have time for Quinton. Well…that begins to change BUT there is also a stalker with bad intentions that must be found and dealt with before a HEA can be found for the two of them. This was a quick, easy, fun and somewhat predictable read. I did not read book one in the series, Jude’s Law, and have a feeling some of the comments would have made more sense and the supporting characters would have been familiar. That said, reading book one is not essential for this story to stand on its own. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensingington Publishing Corporation’s Zebra Books for the ARC. This is my honest review.

3.5 stars--MURPHY’S LAW is the second installment and re-release in Lori Foster’s contemporary, adult LAW romance series. This is waitress/student/cleaning person Ashley Miles, and successful businessman Quinton Murphy’s story line. MURPHY’S LAW can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty although some of the premise is predicated on the events of book on. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. The reader is first introduced to the couple in book one-Jude’s Law. Told from several third person perspectives including Ashley and Quinton MURPHY’S LAW focuses on the building relationship between thirty three year old successful and wealthy businessman Quinton Murphy, and twenty seven year old, struggling student and waitress Ashley Miles. Ashley is part of the cleaning crew in the office building where Quinton’s family owned consulting firm leases space, and Quinton’s attraction to Ashley is compounded by her refusal to trust the man who is offering her the world. With her best friend’s wedding only days away, Quinton offers himself as Ashley’s plus-one hoping for a chance with the spunky cleaning lady who has caught his eye. But someone is stalking our story line heroine, and the threats against her life are becoming more dangerous and personal. What ensues is the romantic relationship between our leading couple, and Quinton’s struggle to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. The relationship between Quinton and Ashley begins as a mutual attraction although Ashley struggles with issues of money, trust, and low self-esteem. The trust issue comes into play several times throughout the story when Quinton’s actions prove that, he too, struggles with Ashley’s less than stellar background and upbringing. As a virgin our heroine has very little experience with men but Quinton has offered to take it slow in his relationship with Ashley Miles. The $ex scenes are intimate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The colorful secondary and supporting characters include former MMA fighter Denny Zip, Jude Jamison, May Price and May’s brother Tim from book one JUDE’S LAW. Ashley’s friendship with May finds our heroine the target of revenge when someone from Jude’s past returns for vengeance. MURPHY’S LAW is a sweet story with a little bit of mystery, suspense and romance. The story line is predictable; the conflict resolution is quick and with very little fanfare-I was hoping for a little ‘more’. The premise is heartwarming; the romance is encouraging; the characters are animated and spirited. MURPHY’S LAW is an engaging story line with a happily ever after.

First thing to note is that this is a reissue if a previously published book so be sure you don't already own it. If you don't I recommend you give it a try. This is the second book in the series and although you don't have to have read the first book to follow along, I do think you will enjoy it more if you have. Quinton and Ashley are so cute together and even though Ashley is trying her hardest to stay away, she just can't resist him. Their story is fun and flirty and you don't want to miss it.

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. In it, Ashley is a struggling student, working two jobs while attending school. She had gotten a very rough start in life and is determined to make something of herself. Will is an almost too good to be true wealthy man that has become smitten by the woman cleaning his office building. Too bad Ashley doesn't have time for romance, but Will refuses to take no for an answer. Add in a psychopath from Ashley's past that is determined to punish her, and you have all the elements for a great story. I absolutely loved this book and would have given it five starts, except the ending felt a bit rushed to me and I wish the author had spent a bit more time with it. Even with that thought, this is a very good book that is well worth reading. Fans of the genre will thoroughly enjoy this novel and will want to put it at the top of their TBRs. I'm looking forward to reading more books by the author.

What a fun read! Ashley was a hoot! She was socially awkward, blunt and to the point. You always knew what she was thinking and while she was stubborn, she also conceded when she knew the other person was right. That's such a rare trait to find in a heroine. Ashley has had a not so nice childhood where her parents treated her more like an obligation and took charity from others instead of working. Because of this, she has almost too much pride to accept help and insists on making her own way. In a way, this is what made me like her character more. She was very feisty and how she handled others trying to coddle her was entertaining. Quinton was raised much differently. He had a home with loving parents and grew up wealthy. Despite having money, he's not a snob and is quite generous. When you find out how generous he is, you fall that much harder for his character. They seemed like such an odd pairing but that's what I liked most about them. We don't get to see their actual meeting in this book since it took place in Jude and May's story, but that's all I felt like I missed out on. It can definitely be read as a standalone. This is my first book from this author and I will definitely look into more of her books. ARC provided by Netgalley.

Ashley longs for stability, she wants the house, money in the bank, a good job, the whole works, and most of the time women want the man to go along with it, but not Ashley, she is determined to do it on her own. She is working two jobs, going to college, and has little time for much of anything else, and to be honest she kind of likes it that way, because it makes less room for distractions to seep into her world, and hinder her plan. But she didn't account for a man like Quinton to wander into her life, and now that he has, she is doing all she can to get rid of him, but the handsome hunk isn't letting her get away so easily... he wants a date, and is determined to get her to say yes! The moment Quinton meets Ashley he is taken with her, there is something about her that draws him in and has him acting out of character...and it is driving him crazy, no woman has ever been able to knock him off of his game, nor made him lose his focus the way she has. He wants to be near her, date her, lure her into his bed, but she doesn't seem to be falling for any of it. He is use to the women falling all over themselves to land a date with him, but Ashley doesn't seem to be dazzled by his charms... which leaves him with no choice but to follow her everywhere she goes, and pester her into saying yes. But he soon learns that he isn't the only one following her... Absolutely loved this book! Highly addictive story line, that had me burning right through the pages, I completely devoured it in one sitting! It had it all, a story line rich with heart, humor, mystery, and some sensational sexy times guaranteed to make you blush!! Highly recommend this one, Ms. Foster's quirky characters are sure to steal your heart!!

Murphy’s Law is book 2 in Lori Foster’s Law series. While it is a stand-alone book, you would probably enjoy it more if you read Jude’s Law first. The danger and threat from the first book carries over into this one and targets Ashley. I really liked both the main characters, Ashley and Quinten, and enjoyed watching their relationship develop throughout the book. Denny, a secondary character in both books, is great and added a lot to the story. I wouldn’t mind having him as a friend. While the focus of this book is on Ashley and Quinton, we also get to revisit with Jude, May, and Denny from book 1. I love it when authors keep us up-to-date on past characters by letting them be a part of storylines in other books. If you want a quick, fun read, this book fits the bill!

It was a quiet nigh as the medicine cats gathered around moonpond. "I would like to welcome a new apprentice" the russet tom said. "flowerpaw, do you pledge yourself to be a medicine cat?" "Yes" flowerpaw answerd. The medicine cats touched their noses in the cool pond.<br> Flowerpaw woke up in a grassy field. A white she cat walked up to her. "Whitestar" flowerpaw bowed her head in respect. "I have a prophacy for you." Whitestar said "Even the most rusty heart can be true." Flowerpaw looked confused "what does it mean?" She asked, but the scene was fadeing into darkness. Then she woke up
