About the Author

Patricia Shehan Campbell is a Professor of Music Education and Ethnomusicology at the University of Washington. A certified teacher of Dalcroze Eurhythmics, she is widely known for her research on children's music, their musical development and the pedagogy of world music cultures. She is the author of SONGS IN THEIR HEADS, TEACHING MUSIC GLOBALLY, LESSONS FROM THE WORLD, and numerous research and pedagogical articles and chapters.

Carol Scott-Kassner is a retired Professor of Music Education. She is an expert in musical growth and learning in young children. She is a co-author of three series by Silver Burdett Ginn; author of chapters in two editions of the HANDBOOK OF RESEARCH IN MUSIC TEACHING AND LEARNING; and co-author of MUSIC FOR THE ELEMENTARY CLASSOOM TEACHER. She is also known for her extensive leadership in music education.
