Must Love Fashion by Deborah Garland

Escape into the exciting world of fashion where Andrew Morgan, a former male model turned brand manager meets his match in Gwendolyn Mallory, a beautiful small town public relations specialist he doesn’t think he needs.

She was hired to turn the fashion world upside down...not his.

Go behind the scenes as Gwen sets out to prove she has what it takes to promote a prestigious brand like Prada. Andrew is already struggling to accept his PR responsibilities have been taken away from him, but the intense attraction he has for Gwen is just plain getting in the way of rational thinking—sleeping with a co-worker has always been on his to-don’t list. But Gwen challenges everything Andrew believes about love and relationships as he puts aside his heartbreaking past to have the woman he never knew he needed.

Follow the sparkling fuse slowly burning with sexual tension as Gwen brings to life a sexy devil…who just happens to wear Prada.

RT Book Reviews gave Must Love Fashion 4 Stars and Kirkus Reviews said it's "A strong start to a promising new romance series."

What an absolutely delightful debut from author Deborah Garland! I wasn’t sure what to expect, since I don’t know (much less love) the first thing about fashion. But oh, how I did love these characters. Gwen and Andrew have both had some pretty crappy luck with marriage. Gwen’s husband bailed on her, leaving her with a huge mortgage to cover, and Andrew is a widower who seems stuck in one of the stages of grief, unable to get his life moving again. When the two of them end up having to share space at the NY headquarters of Prada, it’s only a matter of time before the sparks they strike off each other set fire to the walls they’ve erected around their hearts. Of course, nothing can ever be that easy. Just when it seems they’ve gotten their issues taken care of, more drama of both the personal and professional persuasion throws them right back into choppy waters that may just sink their relationship permanently (trying to be vague here to keep from giving any spoilers). I had a hard time putting my e-reader down until I finished, and now I’m anxiously waiting for the second book in this series, which I hope is about Gwen’s brother, Gregory. That poor man is in desperate need of some loving!

Must love fashion by Deborah Garland is the first book in her Darling Cove series. This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a very enjoyable read. Andrew - the brand manager of the company he works for - doesn’t understand why he needs a PR representative. So needless to say he isn’t happy when he is told he is getting one anyway. Gwen knows she has to make an impact if you wants to succeed. Especially since Andrew is dead set against needing her around. What neither of them anticipated however was the instant attraction between them. Forced together for one reason maybe they can find a different reason to stay together. I really enjoyed these characters together, they just worked so well. The whole story was just believable and made it so easy for you to become engaged with. The writing was the exact style I like and helped to create the overall package. A very good book and a new author to explore!

Must Love Fashion (Darling Cove #1) by Deborah Garland was a fun, heart pounding, feels ripping, gushy good feel book that had me hooked from start to finish. My first read by this Author, and first in this series, I went tin with a open mind, but still thinking I knew what was going to happen, this story seemed like all the other boy meets girl.. but all similar was it was, it was in a whole different realm of difference. What you are probably asking, makes this story different. The characters, they were already well established, had healthy careers, with hidden baggage and life experience, and everything life has to toss at you. Their love matured over time, even though there was instance attraction, they both played it close to heart. Both didn't know what steps to take, or what was or wasn't common ground. This story was just as much about them moving forward as it was about them learning what it is to truly fall in love. It mimicked real life, with real life situations, and how life tends to throw as much sh** at you, as it possibly can. There was no perfect answer, and that is what set this book apart from others that have similar plots lines. So please take my super high recommendation that you not only need this book in your life but you need to experience what it is to tell a real, heart pulling, gushy story, that for me wasn't cheesy, wasn't over done, and wasn't full of overused cliché's. This will set a new stander of reading for you. It has me. Happy Reading -E.A. Walsh

Must Love Fashion by Deborah Garland is the first book in her new series Darling Cove and what a grand slam! Following the story of Andrew Morgan, former male model and recent widower who now works for Prada as a PR manager. When the boss brings in Gwendolyn Mallory to bring the brand back to life, Andrew is knocked back on his heels more than once by her. Andrew is still mourning the loss of his wife to cancer, and thinks that he doesn’t need some small town gal telling him how to do his job, but Gwen does more than showing him how the job is done….she starts a fire inside him that he isn’t ready for. Gwen on the other hand is smitten with Andrew from the start but knows that she getting attached to Andrew is danger. He has so many scars, secrets hidden behind his devasting good looks that he is danger to her sanity, but she can’t stay away. The more that Andrew fights his attraction to Gwen, the more that he falls for her, if only she could open up completely to him. Gwen has secrets, deep and dark that could destroy everything she has worked so hard for, but more importantly could push Andrew away from her. Will opening up to him push him away or draw him closer? These two made such a great story to read. The interactions between them were a blast to read, making this book one that I couldn’t put down once I started reading it. The angle of suspense that Garland weaves into her story makes it even better. Garland is a new to me author, and I am so glad that I picked this one up. Her writing style was unique and her characters were on point from beginning to end. The storyline grabbed me from the first page and kept me reading until the very last page. If you are looking for a new author to add to your collection of go tos than this is one you really need to keep an eye on. I can’t wait to see where she takes this series in the future, because you can bet I will be first in line to buy the next one.

Must Love Fashion (Darling Cove Book 1) by Deborah Garland is the first book in her Darling Cove series. This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what else she has wrote. This is a contemporary romance story that will keep you engaged until the end. This author's writing skills are such that her story is creative and easy reading. The way she writes about the ups and downs of a relationship is enjoyable. Her characters will pull at your heartstrings. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of different emotions. In this story we get a look behind the scenes as Gwen sets out to prove that she has what it takes to promote top brands. Andrew is struggling with his PR responsibilities as they have been taken away. His problem is that he feels an attraction to Gwen which is really getting in his way. Co-worker relationships are a definite no no so what will he do? He finds that she is challenging everything he believes in with relationships. Will she get him to change his mind about relationships? Has he met his match with Gwen? I enjoyed both of these characters. Andrew is so strong and I felt compassion for him. His past isn't the happiest but he has his reasons for his feelings on relationships. Gwen is a strong woman but has some issues that made me sad and some of the other things she is going through. They are both pretty much down to earth but do have some insecurities. I will say they took me on some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. They have such great chemistry together that I kept hoping they would figure out their happiness together. They both have been hurt and have scars that need to heal. The main question is, will they give each other a chance on love or will they let it go? Will they open up their hearts to let each other in? The secondary characters in this book are supportive and I hope we get to see more of them in the future in other books. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens between Andrew and Gwen and if they find the happiness they deserve.

It’s amazing how love can turn supremely confident and self-assured people into worried, self-doubting balls of anxiety. Such is the case with our lovers in Must Love Fashion. Gwen and Andrew are drawn to each other the minute they meet in the offices of Prada. Each has been hurt and scarred by past relationships and fights the growing attraction and passion they feel. Will they open their hearts and take the second chance that the universe has waiting for them? Will their fears and careers keep them from seeing that they both deserve happiness together? Ms. Garland is a talented writer who has created two memorable characters who struggle with the ups and downs of relationships that is further complicated by their jobs as executives for Prada. Set against the high speed, high pressure backdrop of the fashion world, this story had me riveted from beginning to end. The ups and downs of life are realistically presented, and the passion and love is off the charts. This is not a book for prudes. The sex is hot and frequent, but by no means the focus of the story. The climax is exciting and the resolution satisfying. The development of the supporting characters leaves no doubt that their stories will follow. I am very happy that the Darling Cove series will continue. I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this book, great read on a cold night in front of a warm fire though all the hot sex in this book, you may not need a fire to keep you warm!!! I love the characters, their lives have both been devastated by cancer and You really care about them and really want them to work through their issues and make their relationship last.

If this doesn't tug at your heartstrings I dont know what will. This was a beautiful, funny, heartbreaking story. 2 bruised souls finding one another. Andrew still getting over the death of his wife from a couple years ago. Gwen going through a divorce and dealing with some scary health issues. They sorta didnt start off right when they met. Both fighting some feelings but trying to stay professional until they couldnt. Things were not cut and dry for Andrew and Gwen. Ups and downs throughout their story. Can they make it to the end and have their HEA? Or will 1 ugly word be the end? After what Andrew suffered with the death of his wife Gwen doesnt want to put him through that. Andrew initially freaked out wants to stick by her. With juggling their jobs and personal issues...Can they make it to the end and have their HEA? Or will 1 ugly word be the end?

One of my favorite reads this year! A huge fan of the movie, The Devil Wears Prada, I was eager to read this story, which is set in that same world. I always thought the romance was lacking in that story and Deborah Garland has changed all of that, giving me my very-satisfying romantic fantasy in the world of runways and Prada bags - thank you, Ms. Garland! Gwen and Andrew are both trying to put the issues of the past behind them. There's some pretty heavy stuff there (Andrew's wife died of cancer) but from the moment these two meet we see chemistry and comedy alike, making for a very enjoyable read. Garland is amazing with her descriptions, making you feel as though you're right beside Gwen and Andrew as they prepare for the L.A. fashion show, and fall in love. Love great love scenes? The ones in this story are smoking hot! Ms. Garland paints an incredible picture with dialogue and description, which made me rather disappointed that Andrew is not depicted on the cover. Though, he is certainly described very well in the story. And I suppose a little mystery does make him all the more exciting...and exciting he is! Definitely give this book a read. You won't be disappointed!
