When the going gets tough, the not-so-tough flee to Canada …

Emergency call operator Hollie Porter is saddled with a job she hates and a boyfriend who’s all wrong for her. Reaching breaking point, she cashes in a gift certificate and heads to Revelation Cove in British Columbia.

Flying solo and newly single, Hollie hopes to reflect and discover her purpose among the beautiful surroundings but instead ends up unintentionally providing comic relief for the staff and guests alike. Even concierge Ryan, a former hockey star with bad knees and broken dreams, can’t stop her from stumbling from one (mis)adventure to another.

But the island and a budding romance soon work their charm on Hollie, and she starts to believe she might have found the rejuvenation she so desperately desires. Until an uninvited guest crashes the party, forcing Hollie to step out of the discomfort zone she dwells in to save the day … and maybe even herself in the process.

SO FREAKING FUNNY!!!! This is a very hard book for me to review.  It's very different than the books I have reviewed so far.  I have to admit I LOVED this book.  BUT, it has a lot of sex, sex talk, and language.  The description and the reviews I had read made me want to read this book so bad.  When the opportunity came up to review, I jumped at it.  I did not realize how much sex and language would be in it.  I can't help it though.  It is such a great story.  I loved it.  Just loved it. Hollie's character is not my most favorite.  She is such a whiner, but her story is fabulous.  I love how it feels like she is talking to "me" the whole time.  It's so fun.  She was so funny.  She is what I would consider mostly an airhead with a tad of normal.  Her story had me laughing out loud a lot of times.  I could totally see the stupid choices she was making and want to slap her, but it did make for a fabulous story.  Her boyfriend Keith is, man I don't even know how to put it nicely.  He is a jerk.  I dislike him.  Completely.  Hollie's job as a 911 operator would be so hard.  I don't think it is something I could do.  Her feelings about her co workers, and the things she says about them, just made me laugh. I am IN LOVE with the Revolution Cove.  Yes, I realize it's a book, but the descriptions in this book are so amazing I felt like I was there.  The beauty of the author's writing put me right into the "scene". Concierge Ryan is my favorite from the moment he enters the book.  I love love love him.  He is funny,  he is handsome, he is interesting, and just plain fabulous.  Every time he opens his mouth I couldn't help but laugh out loud.  There was a lot of that while I was reading this book.  It is so hilarious. The love story is SO SO SO amazing.  It's perfect, and by perfect, I mean the characters were totally themselves, and went together so well, yet were their own person still.  Such a great love story.  It's funny, sexy, and intense. This is definitely, definitely and ADULT BOOK, but man, it was so funny.  I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book.  It made me cry, it was just so full of emotion. Content:  Language..lots of it.  Lots of sexual talk and sex it's self.

3.5 stars Did I enjoy this book: This was a fun read. I enjoyed the second half more than the first half. It took a bit longer than I thought it should to get through, but that may have been me. I like fluffy, light, fun reads. Must Love Otters hit the spot for the most part. Hollie was a character you could get behind. I felt bad for her, but I also wanted to shake her a bit. I wanted to tell her to get out of her relationship with Keith, to leave that crappy job he hated, to do something she wanted to do. She’s young, not tied down, now’s the time to do something! So, needless to say, I cheered when she finally took the weekend trip to Revelation Cove. She had quite the adventure there. I liked Concierge Ryan. He was a genuine guy, and a good counter to Hollie. Her clumsiness gave me a few laughs. Her overnight on the boat with the whales, otters, and the guy made me smile. Her episode with the cougar had me gasping. All-in-all, a good read, somewhat predictable, but good nonetheless. Would I recommend it: Sure! It’s a fun, light read. Will I read it again: I will not. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)

Sweet & Freakin' Hilarious! Hollie Porter is stuck with a life that she really doesn't want. Her job, her co-workers, her boyfriend feel all wrong. Her father gifts her a vacation, and she uses this opportunity to get away from it all. Little did she know that making a call to the Revelation Cove resort to make arrangements for her stay there would ultimately change her life on many levels. I loved Hollie from the start. She's quirky and authentic. She has her own brand of humor, a wild imagination and has far too many misadventures, including one naked mishap...oops! I've got to give her credit for trying to take charge of her life with gusto! When romance finally comes a knocking, oh boy, does the form of a handsome, green-eyed, ex-hockey star! Concierge Ryan is so charming and smooth. He will make you swoon, I promise! I adored...completely ADORED this book! I laughed, I cried, I rooted for the heroine to find her HEA right from the beginning. One of the things that I enjoyed was Hollie's close relationship with her father, who had raised Hollie as a single dad. Eliza Gordon also did a beautiful job with the setting, painting a stunning visual in my mind, so much so, that I now want to visit British Columbia. I love otters. I really do! I've been to Monterey so many times to view them frolicking in the water. The otters in this book? It's totally worth getting to this part of the story. So cute! If you love animals and romantic comedies, then I highly recommend MUST LOVE OTTERS! Get ready to giggle-snort several times! This story is incredibly funny, entertaining, and heartwarming. When I reached the end, I wanted to hug the hell out of my e-reader. *A complimentary copy was provided by the author for an honest review.*

I did not like this book at all. I couldn't get interested in the plot and the language was not what I wanted to read. I did not read much of it...(Maybe it got better farther into the book!) I would NOT recommend this book or the author!!

The hilarity that other reviewers mentioned must have passed me by. I found the writing style of this book immature. The main character wasn't terribly likeable (a desparate focus on having sex on vacation). And the ending seemed rushed. The only redeeming quality I can find is it was on sale.

Holly and Ryan's chemistry had me turning pages like mad! Such a funny, beautiful read! Can we have the sequel now please?

MUST LOVE OTTERS came highly recommended from a friend of mine, and I'm SO glad she suggested I give this book a try. Omigod, I laughed so hard, but I had to try to hold it in because I was shaking with laughter and didn't want to wake up my husband. I contemplated reading out in the living room but didn't want to leave my warm comfy bed. I had to wipe tears away! My chest ached from attempting to keep the laughter from escaping. It was painful, lol.  It's an amazing talent to be able to convey snarky wit and humor in the manner that this husband-and-wife team, Eliza Gordon, did. They pulled it off big time. They SLAYED me. I bow down to their genius. Seriously.  In the beginning of MUST LOVE OTTERS, it was painful to read about how unhappy Hollie felt, and the way she was treated by her boyfriend, supervisor, co-workers, and even people whose emergency calls she takes at the 911 dispatch center - the ones who yell at her and don't really have emergencies. But the pain was replaced by wonderful changes Hollie makes. She has the courage to turn everything upside down in an effort to find out what she wants from life.  There were sweet, romantic moments that had me feeling so happy for Hollie. She's so relatable - I know what it feels like to be disenchanted with the way I'm living and worry that I'm settling for mediocrity rather than taking a risk for real and true happiness. The trip to Revelation Cove, Hollie's early birthday gift from her father, couldn't have come at a better time for her, and I think the name of the cove is perfect for what she went there to do. She has a huge revelation that changes her life forever. I can't recommend MUST LOVE OTTERS enough. It's a read that will make you laugh so hard you'll feel like you've done a thousand sit-ups! Which is a terrific feeling. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't sure about this book for the first chapter or so. I didn't know if I liked Hollie, her job was depressing, her boyfriend was a jerk, and nothing was giving me the warm fuzzies. I am so glad I continued on! The book is a delight - funny, warm, just spicy enough. I finished the book and immediately purchased Hollie Porter Builds a Raft, which I read also immediately, and liked even more than the first book. Now, I'm stuck until Eliza writes the next one. C'mon, Eliza! Read this!

A sweet romance getaway. Hollie finds herself in both a relationship and a job that does not fulfile her dreams. A pre-paid vacaton helps her find herself, her loves and a new direction in life. I will keep checking to see when Eliza Gordon offers a new book.

Although I don't like 1st person writing, this one came across very well. I guessed where it was headed, but it didn't spoil the ending too much.

I needed to cleanse my palate from all the angst I had been reading and this was the perfect release! What a fabulous read. It is the definition of beach read, rainy day read or pretty much just read it to fall in to "Revelation Cove" for a while. Hollie is sarcastic, witty and is the Queen of quirky, so I basically love her. She needed a new beginning, but just didn't know how to pull the trigger until a 911 call speaks to her giving her the push she needs to start over. Concierge Ryan has a smart mouth with an adorable personality, knowing exactly when to deliver a one-liner, even his crooked nose makes you love him. Ryan has you wanting to jump on the next plane to find your own slice of Canada. Hollie and Ryan have no idea that one drunk dial phone call will be the call that will change both of their lives forever. This book has humor, can you say panty tarantula without laughing? There is no major sex scenes (calm down my smut lovers), but you don't need it with the steam build up and implied sexual encounters. Nature and wildlife action also brings something to the plate as well. Then add in the bathroom humor, Batman Jerry, flaming rooster sauce and me wanting more made this a two thumbs up read for me.

This was a good read. Predictable, but a nice way to spend an evening or two.
