In the future, I will brag that I read her first novel. I can't imagine how she could improve. Hopefully she will bring her amazing talent to many important topics. I will read them all. She writes in an authentic voice that wraps you tightly in the world she has created. Character development is logical and frightening. I could barely put it down to go to work. Amazing.

My Beautiful Suicide by Atty Eve is a wonderfully dark thriller, and one of the most uniquely refreshing books I have read in a very long time. I didn’t expect the story to unfold anything like it did. The edgy, daring and imaginative author shattered any preconceived boundaries I had for how “dark” she’d allow Cosette—the book’s protagonist—to go. The characters strong internal monologue combined with the way the different facets of her personality are presented makes the reader understand why she feels the way she does in spite of how others see her. The foundation for her gradual dissention into the ethical abyss she finds herself in by the end is so well established that it’s believable that she would make the otherwise unfathomable choices that she does. Even more impressive, because of the nature of the events that unfold during her characters evolution, you find yourself still rooting for her even after she’s become a much different—and rather disturbed but still redeemable— person. The entire cast of core characters is amazing. From the best friend hell bent on pulling her back from the edge before it’s too late, to the mysterious, high school bad boy who encourages her to explore her wild side, her overworked, semi-absentee but loving mom, and her high school bully / nemesis who continues to manage to get under her skin even after no one else is able to. There is a hint of a supernatural / spiritual element to this book, with some ancillary characters exhibiting uncanny insight into what Cosette is experiencing, that makes the reader ponder the source of their insight and what powers they may be able to bring to bear as the series unfolds to pull the protagonist out of the rather deep hole she’s dug for herself. I can't say I have ever read a book remotely similar to this or one that literally made my jaw fall open with some of the totally unexpected plot twists. I am counting the days until the release of the second book in this breathtaking series.

Reviewed by Carrie-Jane White for Readers' Favorite My Beautiful Suicide by Atty Eve tells the story of Cosette Hugo. Cosette is unhappy; she has every reason to be. Her brother, Victor, has died, her parents are divorced, and she runs the gauntlet of the school bully each day. But she survives. Until a serial killer strikes in the community and she becomes a vigilante. Her view of life changes for the worse. Then, she begins to plan her own suicide. My Beautiful Suicide by Atty Eve is the first book for a long time that has sparked an overwhelming surge of emotions in me. I could truly relate to Cosette's suffering at the hands of Hilda, her enemy at school. The hate, the humiliation, the frustration, and the fear. But, then I started to feel frustrated by Cosette. She has friends who are connected to Hilda and she has her mother, and yet help doesn't seem to be forthcoming. Then, the attack on Hilda occurs by the serial killer(s). Cosette becomes a vigilante. Why? I couldn't understand the reasoning behind her decision.  Throughout my reading of My Beautiful Suicide, I experienced a roller-coaster of emotions, amongst them confusion and incredulity. I have to say it did leave a lasting impression on me for a few days after. It was this fact alone that convinced me to up my rating. I'm now left with two points that I feel must disclose: Atty Eve is an author to watch in the coming months. However, suicide is not selfish, but it is not beautiful either.
