Josh Landry is one of the hottest bartenders in New Orleans. He’s shown many a female tourist that things are definitely big and easy down here.

And he’s now been celibate for a year. Because he finally met her.

Yes, her. The One.

But, after nothing more than a hot goodnight kiss and a promise to meet up again next year if they’re both still interested, she went home to Iowa.

It’s been a long year.

But now it’s Mardi Gras again and he’s ready for his happily ever after.

If she shows up.

Oh, she shows up. For her best friend’s wedding.

But Tori is a terrible bridesmaid because all she can think about is her knight-in-shining-Mardi-Gras-beads from last year.

Well, and because she accidentally lays a hot kiss on her BFF.

Aka, the groom.

Unfortunately, no one believes that it was a case of mistaken identity. So, now she has to convince everyone she has no intention of ruining the wedding. She’s going to need a crazy-about-her boyfriend ASAP. Even if he’s just faking it.

Well there’s only one other person she knows in Louisiana...

Josh is all in. In fact, he’s thrilled. And he’s not faking anything.

But the groom isn’t faking his sudden case of cold feet either.

And now Tori might have a choice to make.

I am sorry but after twentytwo pages of the story going back and forth from the past to the present as the author described their current push through the Mardi Gras crowd to get to the Bourbon Street bar where met was complicated and BORING. I just could not waste another second trying to make sense of the story. I do not recommend it, unless you like reading about drunk senior citizens, drunks vomiting, and frantic searching through the crowd for one person. Not for me.

I just loved the sound of this plot as soon as I read it. Throw in that it is New Orleans, a place I desperately want to go and it was written by an author I have come to love and I was ready to dive right in. Oh what a little gem My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is; I was totally hooked from the first to the last page and I just did not want to put this one down, even when real life got in my way. Veterinarian Victoria (Tori) Kramer is in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras when she meets hot and sexy bartender Josh Landry. Their connection is immediate and they find themselves talking through the night as they get to know one another. Parting after a smoking hot kiss, they agree if they are both single, they will meet again next Mardi Gras. Fast forward 12 months and complications arise when Toni who is in town again for her best friend Andrew’s wedding accidentally kisses the groom to be. Despite her protests that it was an accident, it appears the groom is now having second thoughts about the wedding. Toni turns to Josh to step in and be her devoted boyfriend, a role Josh is absolutely ready for. I loved the characters of Josh and Toni and I particularly enjoyed how much Josh was all in from the first kiss and decided to be celibate until they meet again. Such a caring and swoon worthy man who ticks all the boxes and the love that Josh and Toni share was beautiful to read about. This is a funny, romantic, sweet, steamy story that blew me away. Josh's family is an absolute hoot and I would not mind being a part of their family. I cannot wait to read more in this series and I firmly believe that Erin Nicholas has another winning series on her hands.

Josh and Tori are amazing. Josh is a big hearted southern boy with an amazing family. Tori is a small town girl with a family she just doesn't quite fit in with. When Josh and Tori meet there love is instant but distance makes it almost impossible. Watching them fall in love and and the hurdles they have to jump to get there is amazing. This story makes you fall in love with New Orleans and the bayou. So if you're looking for a sweet story with hot romance and humor then this is the story for you!

The cover on this book was great. This story line flowed nicely. There was drama, love, and zing between these main characters I'm deft intrigured with the secondary characters to buy the next book in this series. This book ran around 223 nk pgs so you do get somewhat of a completed descriptive history of the main characters which is nice you rarely see a author do this any more its nicely done because you can understand the quirkness of the characters and say now I understand why the author had them react this way. I wish the ending was a bit longer tho it felt kinda fast like okay this happened to the groom and wham its over hopefully there's gonna be a bit more shanigans with andrew in a future book.....vw

A Wonderfully Sexy and Laugh-Out-Loud-Funny Contemporary, Small Town Romance! “We’ll give it a year. And then, if we’re still thinking about each other and want to see each other again, we’ll both show up at Bourbon O on Mardi Gras. If we’re both there, we’ll know.” I absolutely LOVED this book! My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding is the wonderfully sexy and laugh-out-loud-funny opener to Erin Nicholas’ brand new Boys of the Bayou series. I’m admittedly already a fan of Erin’s, but this tale simply blew me away with its awesomeness. Her writing whisks me right in the story with the characters that are so well-developed that I feel that I can touch them. I could have stayed in this world forever and I’ve not been able to stop thinking about these characters and this story since I finished it. This is the lovely story of bartender Josh Landry and veterinarian Victoria “Tori” Kramer. They met one year ago on Fat Tuesday in New Orleans. As their tale opens, we catch up with Josh who is elbowing his way through the crazy Mardi Gras crowds to see if the girl who makes him want to act like a crazy romantic has showed up at the Bourbon O bar as they’d agreed last year. The two didn’t share phone numbers or addresses so they’ve not communicated for a full year. So, will she show? Tori’s best friend, Andrew, is getting married. Tori is the ninth bridesmaid in his wedding since it’s not appropriate for her to be his best man. Tori is not excited about the wedding as she feels that Andrew is making a mistake. Besides, on this Fat Tuesday, she can’t stop thinking this is the night she’s supposed to be meeting up with with Josh who she’s not been able to get out of her mind since she met him at the Bourbon O last year. When she desperately needs a date to the wedding, Josh steps up to the plate. Oooh La La! What can go wrong? These are the best couple ever. Josh lives in Autre, a parish in the shadow of New Orleans. He has a large, colorful, loving family who has a history of falling hard and quick for the love of their lives. They are also pains more often than not. Regardless, I wish I had a grandma like his Ellie! She’s a hoot! Josh had a well-earned playboy reputation. However, he said sayonara to his womanizing ways once he met Tori. He’s outgoing and enjoys promoting New Orleans to anyone who will listen. Tori lives with a menagerie of special needs rescue animals in a small town in Iowa. She’s quiet, a loner and has a reputation for being weird. She’s a champion in my eyes as she is an avid animal lover. Even though they seem to be opposites, she and Josh make the most beautiful music together. But, there’s no future for them when they live so far apart… Or is there? If you enjoy contemporary, small-town romances with hot heroes – and who doesn’t? – I promise you will love My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding! This book is incredibly perfect. Just make sure you have time to read it all the way through as you most assuredly won’t want to put it down until you’ve inhaled every single word. Also, if I were you, I’d cook up a batch of corn grits to dive into. This tale will give you some serious cravings. Next up in Erin’s Boys of the Bayou series is Owen Landry’s story. There’s a brief set-up for it within this tale’s epilogue that will whet your appetite. Needless to say, but I can’t wait!

Meeting a year ago during Mardi Gras while Tori was on vacation, Josh feels a spark he’s never felt before. Sex would have been easy, but then Tori might have forgotten him or he her. Letting her leave, then deciding on celibacy for the next freaking YEAR was difficult. Hoping to meet her again during Mardi Gras this year is always on his mind. Tori can’t believe she’s back in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Of course, she’s only here because her best friend is getting married, right? He wants her in his wedding, but his fiancé won’t allow Tori to be a groomsman. Heading to the bar to see if her attraction to Josh is still there, she accidently KISSES HER BEST FRIEND and his fiancé hears about it. Tori and Josh are so cute together. She chases him to the Bayou, he chases her. Josh’s family is crazy, but then so is Tori! They are just perfect together, but will circumstances allow this bayou boy and his Iowa veterinarian to follow their hearts?

I highly enjoyed the companion series to this one, the Boys of the the Big Easy. But so far, I like the Boys of the Bayou even better! Tori is probably one of my all-time favorite characters! She is so quirky and fun and just totally real. I feel so bad for her that people in her small hometown never appreciated her. Despite that, she's grown up to be an amazing person, studying and working hard to become a veterinarian, creating a sanctuary for special needs animals on her farm, and bascially being the best version of her own self. And Josh just absolutely loves everything about her! That is definitely his most endearing quality – that he just accepts Tori for who she is and doesn't try to change her. We should all aspire to have such an amazing guy in our lives. (And I'm lucky enough that I do!) The rest of the cast, at least those in Autre are also SO much fun! I especially love Ellie, but all of them are delightful. The love and affection between the characters, not to mention the playfulness and easy banter is so much fun to witness. And it's amazing that Tori feels totally included and accepted right from the start. Well, once they'd decided she wasn't pregnant or murderous, anyway. LOL! Paisley and Andrew and nearly everyone from the Plantation world, on the other hand, were totally disingenuous and obnoxious. I seriously did not like any of the interactions with that crew. It's no wonder that Tori was so anxious to have someone on her side there that she caught a tour bus down to Autre to see Josh – even after he seemingly stood her up for the date they'd set a year before. Of course, Tori and Josh face quite a few obstacles on the way to their happily-ever-after. Many of which were outside influences, but quite a surprising few for both of them from inside themselves. Luckily, though they were finally able to overcome all the challenges and bascially force their way into each other's arms. I can hardly wait to read the installments for the stories of Owen and Sawyer. Although I'm going to feel really cheated if we don't get to hear Kennedy's tale as well. Much as I did that we didn't see more of Gus in this volume! =)

This was a great way to kick off the newest series! Tori, the heroine is funny and quirky and the hero loves all of her quirk! The main characters have SO much chemistry and they're so likable. The supporting characters are an absolute hoot! It made me want to book a trip to NO and see all of the points of interest listed in the story. I loved this book and I'm looking forward to the next one!

I loved this one so much. Erin Nicholas never disappoints with her books. Josh and Tori have an instant connection but are unable to explore it and agree to meet the next year at Mardi Gras. They both show but miss each other. Thank goodness Tori decides to go and find Josh. Their time together is sweet and fun. Tori is insecure and thinks she is weird but those are all the things that Josh loves about her. Throw in a best friend who is also the groom who has second thoughts and a bridezilla from hell. Josh's family is a hoot and they accept Tori and all her "weirdness". This is the perfect story of love and choosing to go for it when it's right.

Every book that Author Erin Nicholas pens seems to make me smile but this book does more than that it make me oh so happy deep down in my soul. It is like sunshine and roses all inside one book...Kittens without the sneezes (yep I love them but I am highly allergic) but our Iowa Vet Tori loves them and even sexy Gator boy Josh does too. This book so well written it is like a movie without sound: which is awesome for me because i am deaf. I Instant chemistry! Tori and Josh sizzle one weekend then arrange to meet up again one year later if they still think that chemistry is there. You know that saying "like ships that pass in the night".... That is what I was thinking at one part of the book but don't worry fans it all comes out in the Bayou. You will laugh with the family and want to scream at times but most of all you will certainly fall more in love with not just the Boys of the Bayou but the entire family as well.

Visiting New Orleans during Mardi Gras has just been bumped up to the top 5 on my bucket list! Erin Nicholas knocked this one out of the park and continues to amaze me with her characters. The author has a way of drawing the reader into the story and making you feel like you're right in the thick of it all. The instant chemistry between the main characters is intense, but believable and heart warming. The Landry family is filled with such dynamic characters, that the story is worth reading if only just for the entertainment they provide. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING is the first instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU erotic, romance series, a spin-off from the author’s BOYS OF THE BIG EASY series. This is bartender/bouncer and Bayou tour boat operator Josh Landry, and twenty-eight year old veterinarian Dr. Victoria ‘Tori’ Kramer’s story line. MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING can be read as a stand alone. It is not necessary to have read the previous series. Told from dual third person perspectives (Tori and Josh) MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING follows the second chance, building relationship between bartender/bouncer and Bayou tour boat operator Josh Landry, and twenty-eight year old veterinarian Dr. Victoria ‘Tori’ Kramer. Approximately one year earlier, during the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans, Louisiana Josh Landry met and fell hard for Tori Kramer, a veterinarian from Iowa but a woman who had quickly stolen his heart. With a promise to meet one year later, Tori went home but Josh never forgot about the one that got way. Fast forward to present day wherein Tori has returned to New Orleans for her best friend’s wedding, a return she hopes will reunite long, lost loves. Enter Josh Landry, the man with whom Tori will fall in love. What ensues is the rekindling relationship between Josh and Tori, and the potential fall-out as the New Orlean’s wedding plans spiral out of control. Tori Kramer’s best friend Andrew believes himself to be guardian and protector of our story line heroine. With Andrew’s wedding only days away, Tori begins to fall hopelessly in love with a man she met one year earlier but a man Andrew struggles to accept or defend. Josh Landry knows Tori Kramer is his happily ever after but her best friend Andrew continues to run interference at each and every opportunity. The relationship between Tori and Josh is one of second chances (of a sorts); a rekindling romance between two people separated by distance and obligations. Josh is determined to make Tori his own including proving he is worthy of her happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. We are introduced to a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Tori’s best friend Andrew, and his fiancé Paisley, and several members of the bridal party; Josh’s NOLA extended Landry family, friends and business partners: Owen, Kennedy and Sawyer: their father Jeremiah, grandpa Leo, grandma Ellie, cousin Mitch; and Aunt Cora. The world building continued to focus on the building relationship between Tori and Josh; Tori and Andrew’s friendship but also looked at the Landry family dynamics, their friendships, love and loss. I am looking forward to their stories. The family stories are fun and exciting. MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING is a story of family, friendship, second chances and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is sexy and spicy; the characters are charismatic, sassy and spirited. MY BEST FRIEND’S MARDI GRAS WEDDING is an energetic and heart warming story.

Sinfully sexy and delightful! With the first book in the spin-off series from her beloved Boys of the Big Easy series, Erin Nicholas brings us a familiar face as the first Boys of the Bayou hunk. Josh has been playing the field with the best of them, but lightening struck last year and he hasn't been able to get her off of his mind ever since. With a cast of family sidekicks, Josh sets out to show her what a great time can be had in the bayou. The story line is humorous, with a whole lot of heart. Great characters! Really enjoyed and can't wait for Owen's story! Bartender Josh Landry wasn't expecting to meet the woman of his dreams while serving her a Mardi Gras drink, but when he laid eyes on her, he knew. She was the one he was destined to be with. Only he lives in Louisiana and she lives in Iowa, and in doubting the long distance thing, she walks away ... with only the promise of meeting at the same time, same place if they're both still single and thinking of each other next year. The time has come ... he's there ... now where is she?? Veterinarian Victoria Kramer is back in New Orleans for her best friend Andrew's wedding, and she can't get the meet up she and Josh planned out of her mind. When she finally gets out of the bride's clutches long enough to make it to the bar they're supposed to meet at, a masked mix-up has her accidentally kissing the groom and mortifying the bride! She needs a man by her side for the rest of these wedding festivities ... even if he's faking it. Operation track Josh down underway!

I LOVED this book so much. The characters were great. Tori reminded me of my brother with her love of animals. I loved hoe Josh accepted Tori for herself quirks and all. I loved Josh's family so much. They were a hoot especially his grandma. This book had me laughing quite often. It has such a nice light fun tone to it. Josh with kittens sign me up please. I don't blame Tori for the way she acted when she saw this because I would have reacted the same way. I would highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed!

A fun, flirty, steamy read to enjoy at your leisure. Grab your copy today!! My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding by Erin Nicholas was my first book by this author, it’s also the first book in the ‘Boys Of the Bayou’ series and I was captivated from the very start. It’s funny, witty and had some truly swoon worthy moments. Josh Landry is one hot bartender from Louisiana who met the girl of his dreams one year ago, but after one night together, she left, promising to come back in twelve months if they were both still single. Victoria Kramer isn’t just still single, she’s in trouble and needs help getting herself out of the boiling waters of doubt she kinda threw herself in. She needs a hero, and who better for the job than the man from her secret night of passion last year. Josh is more than up for the job, he’ll let Tori do whatever she wants as long as he gets to keep her for himself at the end of it all.
