My wife and I introduced MY BIG BOY POTTY to our 3 & 1/2 year old a week ago. He has displayed the ability to hold his urine and stool for some time, but always showed reluctance to move on to using the potty and asked for a diaper if he didn't have one on. Within two days he began talking about Michael; 'Michael (the story's main character) has potty time every day' and 'Michael wears big boy underpants.' He has sat on the potty several time and successes are becoming more frequent. We borrowed the book from our daycare's library, but purchased a copy to keep at home for our big boy to keep.

Great book. We bought this for our 2 year old boy. He has not showed any interest in potty training, but we thought we could start early. We bought this book and the Potty Train book. After reading this book a few times, he started to show interest. In the middle of reading the book the first time, he asked for his brown teddy bear while sitting on the potty. The 2nd time we were reading this book, he asked to sit on the potty. We are pleased with our progress in potty training so far understanding that boys generally take a longer time to get there.

Bought this book for my 2 yr old son whom we are trying to potty train. He loved it, but it didn't create a fully potty trained boy overnight, which is obvious. I loved the fact that he was able to identify with the main character; he plays with toys, reads books, and wears diapers just like him. It shows where he should go to pee and poop as well as how the transition from diapers to underwear works. The only thing that is different is that in the book, Michael (the main character) is being trained in a potty not an actual toilet. We bought a potty for our son and it was a complete fail. He was more interested in the real toilet, but even with that difference in the book he gets the main idea. YOU HAVE TO STOP USING DIAPERS AND GO PEE IN A POTTY, BIG OR SMALL. I think it's a great investment as it explains every step and makes it easy for little boys to identify with Michael and promotes trying to be a big boy like him! All in all it's a GREAT BOOK!

I bought this book and started reading it to my son almost everyday when he first started showing signs of potty training readiness. It's all he wanted to read for awhile. He really identified with the boy in the story (ex. has a bear, reads books, has a toy car he rides in, etc). This book helped him be more interested in using the potty.

my son is nearly three and enjoys reading this book. the only fault i would mention about the book is that it, like so many others, mentions a new potty. i am potty training my son on the big toilet with a seat that sits on top. would appreciate a book without a potty chair.
