What a bright and delightful book! This easy-to-read story glows with beautiful pages of charming images and glitter. (Don’t worry, the glitter doesn’t shake off!) It’s a perfect book for the holiday season, connecting the topics of Christmas with the alphabet. My daughter just turned 2 and loves pointing out the letters. It’s fun to read and it’s a great learning tool as well. Another thing I loved about it is the focus on Jesus, the nativity and the true Christmas story. This would make a great book to read throughout December. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from BookLookBloggers. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

“J is for Jesus, God’s Son who was born on Christmas Day,” the letter states in the children’s book, My Christmas ABCs: An Alphabet Book. ~ What ~ At twenty pages, this board book with rounded corners and sparkly accents inside and outside targets preschool children and older who like Christmas and its meaning. With no scary scenes, it is a book of all the letters of the alphabet as they relate to the special holiday. With one to two letters per page in alphabet order, there are broad but colorful, sparkly items that focus on Christmas. From envelopes with Christmas cards from near and far to ice that makes us slip and slide or pajamas that keep us snug and war or wise men who brought gifts for baby Jesus, all show prominently the letter with a word that begins with it. ~Why ~ Having grandchildren, I love Christmas books that are eye-catching, and this one is with its sparkly accents on letters and objects on every page. I like how colorful yet simplistic the illustrations are and that it is easy to understand for younger toddlers. Having the raised sections of sparkles makes each page look like a present. I am so thankful there are no references or pictures of Santa Claus. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not like books about Christmas or Christ’s birth will not appreciate this book. Others may think the drawings are sophomoric, but the sparkled areas quickly draw attention. Beginner readers may have problems with some of the two- and three-syllable words. ~ Wish ~ There is nothing I would change about this read – it is perfectly done. ~ Want ~ If you are looking for a children’s book for Christmas and about Jesus that will delight and brighten the holiday, this would be an ideal present, especially if it is read near a warm fire where the glow illuminates the sparkles on the pages while showing young ones the items of Christmas alphabetically. Thanks to Book Look Bloggers for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
