Ian O'Connor spends his days in the purgatory of a New York textile factory, enduring the dangerous conditions to keep his family afloat. Somewhere in the vast, dark corridors of his daily prison is an angel. He has seen her only once but is determined to find her again.

Biddy Dillon has lost her home and her family. Loneliness chips away at her fragile hopes until she meets Ian, whose soft-spoken kindness touches her heart. For the first time in years, she begins to believe in the possibility of good things to come.

When tragedy conspires to pull the couple apart, they must decide if theirs is a future meant to be built together, or if fate has other plans.

I struggled to get through this book. It was fine but slow. Ian was a bit of an idiot, more than I expected for sure. Just not a lot of story to it. I liked the latter two Hope Springs books, just not the first one or this one.

My Dearest Love by Sarah M. Eden (5 stars) It is rare when I give 5 stars, but a few authors seem to consistently earn them and Sarah M. Eden is one. What a talented writer she is! My Dearest Love is a prequel to the Hope Springs series and tells the love story of Ian and Biddy. I would have adored a whole novel, but I'll take what I can get.. The novella is well-developed, well-edited and well-written. The characters are believable and the back stories are interesting. The fun part is that when you read the Hope Springs series, you'll revisit Ian and Biddy and see their relationship as it develops. I highly recommend My Dearest Love for a short, lovely read.

Set in New York City, My Dearest Love is a prequel novella to Sarah M. Eden’s Hope Springs series. Ian O’Conner works at a factory with his father and siblings. While walking through the factory halls, Ian sees a woman who changes his heart. But before he can pursue this woman, he needs to find her again. So the plot unfolds as we follow Ian’s love journey to find the woman he feels is meant for him. My Dearest Love is another tender story by Sarah M. Eden that will draw you in and touch your heart.
