This book provides an indepth look at the young man himself through the formative years of youth and is very worthwhile. Without it, one lacks the proper foundation to really understand many of the later biographies and works on Churchill. Well worth the read in spite of efforts of detractors who obviously have never read the book. An excellent source.

Have you heard of a man who was one of the greatest prime ministers of all of England? Have you heard about Winston Churchill? If you have and you're interested in him, here's a book for you. Even if you haven't heard of him but you're interested in learning about him, I would recommend this book to you. The book, My Early Life takes place in Great Britain in the 1870s. However, the main character, Winston Churchill was born in Ireland in the year of 1874. The characterization of the book is an indirect presentation. The main character's traits are revealed during the story by one's actions and speeches. The story is about a young boy's life that is a normal character. The book gives you everything that the author has gone through his life. For example, a couple of them might be: his studies (school), his daily life, his thinking's, his hobby, and almost everything that he did as a young boy. I really enjoyed reading this book and I liked it so much. Because, I personally enjoy reading autobiographies and I think that this character of me made me want to read more about him throughout the book. Another reason why I liked this book was that it clearly states the "behind the scene" life of a great man who helped change the world. People usually think that a great man was always perfect in his past and had great education, great personality, born into a very wealthy or a noble family, and everything else that they would imagine of a great man. However, this book shows that even a person like Churchill made mistakes all the time and that even he was not perfect. He did have great education, but he didn't always enjoy learning. I would like to recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning about Churchill or great people from the past. However, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who is younger than 12 years old. Because, when I first read this book, I was 12; and it was hard for me to follow along and understand the plot of the story. And if a 12 year old has a hard time following along, I doubt that anyone under the age of 12 would be able to read this book and follow along. But I think that this book is a great book to read.

Wonderful story of the formative years of one of the great men of our generation. Churchill lived a fuller life ln twenty five years than most of us do in seventy five. Very well written and so very easy to read.
