Love comes to the rescue

Vet school drop-out Tess Grasso dreams of having her own pet therapy business, but she meets one disastrous obstacle after another. There's no denying she has a way with animals, so in the meantime she puts her skills to use at a local no-kill shelter. Between helping her furry companions and a budding relationship with fellow dog lover Mason Redding, Tess begins to find fresh confidence...

What Tess doesn't know is that Mason is recovering from an accident, hoping to get back to his pro-baseball career. He's afraid the truth will ruin everything-and he's right. But in the midst of hurt and betrayal, a free-spirited stray Husky enters their lives, and teaches them a few things about faith, love and forgiveness.

My Forever Home is a wonderfully cozy and heartwarming read. It is just made to tug at you, through both animal and people. You totally understand why Mason keeps who he is from Tessa and the revelation works well with their relationship as it has developed. And while there is the opportunity, I really appreciate that Burns avoids melodrama and handles issues quickly and realistically. While I feel that Mason had good development as a character, I do wish we’d gotten a little more of Tessa’s family. Her issues with her family is what sent her on a tour of Europe, but while it is hit upon I think that it could have used a little more. I do love her relationship with her grandmother – their closeness is so sweet and I loved the support there. As much as I love Mason and Tessa’s relationship, it is the connection with John Ronald that is really the highlight of the book. The look inside his mind brings happiness, sadness, and humor. Some may not like the personification of a dog, but it works for me. Like Sit, Stay, Love, My Forever Home is one of those easy to read, slow burn books that takes it time creating connection between the characters – exploring them as people and how they relate to each other. Mason & Tessa manage to find each other at a time when both are ready for the next phase and it creates a delightfully satisfying HEA. I’m so looking forward to what Burns has in store for us next. **Review given honestly and freely after receipt of a reader copy. This opinion is completely my own and was not influenced in any way.**

A Sweet, Clean Holiday Romance with Furbabies This will stretch your heartstrings so good. I loved this read, including furbabies of all sizes and origins. Mason had a great outlook, had overcome a lot. I understand why he did what he did regarding Tess. He didn't take advantage of her, but knew he wanted her. Tess confused me a bit at first as she was so insecure and sure didn't act very mature, but understanding came later. The true hero was a magnificent, super intelligent stray, Mason named John Ronald. To have his viewpoint at times imo, was genious, pulling me in deeper. A great journey to "My Forever Home" with all the feels. I always enjoy some humor and Tess's Grandma also added some levity. I feel parts of this story were a tad slow, so it did take me a few days to finish, but all ends very well. I received an ARC thru Net Galley and giving my honest review.

this is the third book in the Recuse me series by Debbie Burns. I read the first one and saw that Net Galley had the this one available for review. This is part of the series but can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed it. I really like the shelter and how they care for the animals. This one is about Tess who is back from living in Europe. She was to start a dog trainer/therapy business and goes to work at the shelter. She meets Mason who is walking his neighbor's dog. She seems to be the only person who does not know who he is. The romance is sweet and the dogs sweeter. The writing is very good. This was a very good book. I am off to get the second one in the series. I will read more books by Debbie Burns

My Forever Home is a wonder sweet read with amazing characters and some of the cutest pups around. Debbie Burns and this series is new to me but now that I've had a sample of her writing and stories I will definitely be going back and reading the first two books. I read this with no problem so it is definitely a standalone. Tess Grasso finds herself floundering in life and decides to return to her hometown and try to get her pet therapy business off the ground. Mason Redding is an injured baseball player who is recuperating and itching to get back to the game. These two meet when Mason has a mishap with his neighbors dog and needs Tess to help him catch the furry troublemaker. They start to spend a lot of time together at the local shelter. During their time together Tess opens up to Mason but he's kept secrets. Will their new relationship be able to survive them? Excellent read that I highly recommend.

My Forever Home by Debbie Burns is the 3rd book in her Rescue Me series. Once again Debbie Burns gives us a wonderful sweet story that is based around an animal shelter, with a sweet couple and a fantastic dog. Tess Grasso, our heroine, has always loved animals, and was planning to be a vet, but things changed, as she wanted to do something more. Tess is wonderful with the animals, knowing how to handle them in all kinds of situations and her knowledge and love for them shows. Mason Redding is our hero, and we meet him when he is walking his friend’s dog, and notices a stray dog that seems to be following him. When the dog escapes, it is Tess who happens upon the scene and manages to retrieve the dog. In a short time, a friendship develops between Mason and Tess, which will turn into a slow build sweet romance. Mason wants badly to find the stray dog, who he plans to adopt, and has already named him John Ronald. Tess and Mason will begin their search, and when they finally find him, it becomes emotional as John Ronald tries to bring them to some puppies whose mother died, and they are sadly near death. But Tess will spend the night at the shelter, and they will all work overtime to save their lives. Very sweet. Mason knows he is falling for Tess, but he has a secret that he must tell her before he expresses his feelings. Mason is a pro baseball player, who is currently on the injured list, and has kept this a secret from Tess, as she does not follow baseball. He enjoys being with Tess, and no one knowing how famous he has become. When Tess discovers the truth, will this ruin their relationship? I love this series, which spends much of the time with the shelter, and the wonderful dogs or cats they have rescued; it is heartwarming to watch how much they all care about the animals. The romance between Tess and Mason was sweet, and I really liked them together, and loved how John Roland played a part in bringing them together. It was also cute to have a few POV’s in John Roland’s thoughts. What follows is a wonderful sweet slow build romance between Tess and Mason. This was a wonderful sweet romance, with the shelter family and animals as a major part of the story. Debbie Burns gives us another wonderful, delightful, sweet, heartwarming story that kept us hooked until the very end. My Forever Home was a beautiful and heartwarming story, as we fell in love with the couple, the secondary characters and all the dogs/cats, especially John Ronald. Mason and Tess romance was pure and sweet, and blended so well into the story. My Forever Home was well written by Debbie Burns. If you love animals, with a romance in the background, you need to read this book.
