My Heart Stayed Home: An Eaton Creek Adventure
Handsome John Jensen, a young man with unusual interests sets off to a new town to find himself. Although not willing to abandon his family, he develops a fire to discover his own path without losing the love of his life, Arabelle Curtis, or his family's respect. His journey takes him to the rough town of Saint Louis and the more sophisticated Philadelphia where he learns many of life's lessons along the way. Finally with an idea for his future, his faith intact and a burning passion for his woman, who has some unusual talents of her own, he makes his way into maturity and back to the dark haired beauty he was meant to spend his life with. As John and Arabelle begin their exciting and non-traditional life together, they encounter a new and sometimes cruel world, responding with grace and dignity. With the support of their families they find their way back to the developing community of Eaton Creek, where they find that acceptance is a little harder to come by when it involves the community that raised you.

About the Author

Peggy grew up in rural Michigan, the middle child among four siblings. Her home has always been in the country and at an early age she began learning old-fashioned skills like gardening, fishing, sewing, preserving food, caring for animals, etc. As a young married woman at 19 years old, Peggy realized you could learn almost anything from a book or another person and expanded her interests to learn how to build a house and make almost everything her family needed. Curiosity of pioneer life, herbal medicine and figuring out how to do things other people only dream of, all influence her writing. Finishing college as a 38 year old wife and mother was a challenge, but well worth it. After completing a Bachelor's degree in business and education, Peggy earned a Master's in Management. She began teaching business and computer classes at a nearby college, and then for the public school system. Currently she is still married to her wonderful husband of 37 years and living a few miles from her childhood home. Their children are grown and married and have produced two delightful grandchildren. Peggy's time is spent volunteering at their school, writing books with her good friend, Maggie DeCocker, and teaching college courses.
