Overview

Payton Summer doesn't have time for love. Between running her own business in her hometown of Jupiter Bay and her monthly night out with her sisters, Payton has no room for men, dating, or the drama that it entails. Her life is fine just the way it is. Yet, her attraction to the one man she shouldn't want can't be ignored.

Dean McIntire has one rule: don't date clients. It's a lesson he learned the hard way, and sees the consequence every day when he looks at his five-year-old daughter. It's not a rule he'd break again. Until he meets the gorgeous Payton Summer, and suddenly, Dean finds himself ready to throw the rule book right out the window.

What happens when the sparks of lust can't be denied? One night turns in to two, and two turns in to more. Payton and Dean find themselves unable to stay away, but can they survive when their secrets are exposed?

*Though part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone. It is intended for those 18 and over due to graphic language, descriptive sex, and the world's most inappropriate grandparents.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is book 2 in the series and it was a really good story. There is also a lot of sex but it has a really great story with lots of issues throughout the story that keep it interesting. I am going to try and not spoil too much of the story. While this story can stand alone, I really suggest you read book 1 in the series, My Kinda Kisses which stars Payton's sister Jamie. Its a very sweet story and is a great way to introduce the characters. This story is about the oldest sister, Payton who has had a really rough life and lots of twists and turns in the road. Now she is 33 and owns her own business, a flower shop and also has a really great accountant, Dean. Dean is a single dad and for most of the book Payton has no idea. Payton and Dean have a strong attraction and they keep having One Night Stands. But Dean does not want to date a client, he has done it with bad results and Payton feels the same way but she also feels she is unlucky in love. The two in between sexual encounters, try and not be together until they end up at a conference together and share a room and thats when they both decide to try and have a relationship. This was a sweet story. It is romantic and mostly sweet. Though it also has some moments that will make you cry. Some things happen in this story well that made me cry and well you might cry a little as well. Mostly it was a fun and sweet read and I really enjoyed it. It is very well written and the Summer Sisters are a really fun family especially the grandmother.

Payton Summer is the oldest of the Summer sisters. Her family and her flourishing business take up most of her time. She long ago relegated herself to a life of solitude after learning of some devastating news. She never imagined a few steamy nights could ever change her mind. Dean McIntire is completely happy in his life as an accountant and single-dad. His entire world is about taking care of Brielle and thankfully he has his mom to help him when he needs it. Having been raised by a single parent, Dean appreciates the life he's been given and isn't in any hurry to change it but he can't seem to get the beautiful florist out of his mind. This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand alone though I would recommend reading My Kinda Kisses so you don't miss out any of the antics of the Summer family and it helps to know the relationships. I am excited for the next book in this series. I enjoyed the evolution of these characters. Payton's journey is so realistic and a true depiction of someone who has dealt with these issues. Dean's evolution, albeit a small one, is in perfect symmetry to Payton's. I loved these characters and how the author was able to keep me invested in the outcome. I have read all of this author's published works and loved them all. I am excited to see where the next installment will take us.
