Meet the Author

Henry Ford (July 30, 1863 - April 7, 1947) was an American industrialist, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, and the sponsor of the development of the assembly line technique of mass production.

Although Ford did not invent the automobile or the assembly line, he developed and manufactured the first automobile that many middle class Americans could afford. In doing so, Ford converted the automobile from an expensive curiosity into a practical conveyance that would profoundly impact the landscape of the twentieth century. His introduction of the Model T automobile revolutionized transportation and American industry.

Great explanation of Ford's views of business, the story of how he got started in the industry, in his own words. Worth reading.

I am currently a sophomore in high school, and was assigned a research project on Henry Ford. This book was very informative and helpful. It provided me with almost all of the information I needed to  complete my assignment. In majority of the book, Henry Ford writes about how he started the Ford Motor Company, his ideas for the company, and about the cars and money he made. Even though I truly enjoyed reading this autobiography, I would have found it more interesting if Ford would have written more about his personal life. Ford doesn’t include a lot of information about his life growing up, or his family ancestry. I thought this book was very informative about his company but would have found it more interesting to read more about his personal background more. I learned so much about Henry Ford, his company, and Ford's impact on our world today. Overall I thought this book was very interesting and helpful.
