You're driving a 68-foot long truck with 30 tons of cargo through a hostile fire zone. There's oncoming traffic and the side view mirror explodes...into your face. What do you do? If you are Sergeant First Class B.G. Chambers, you simply keep on driving!

These, and other adventures, are shared in weekly emails home to family and friends during her 724 days of deployment. From the first fateful phone call that would send SFC Chambers to Southwest Asia, to the first days of medical care upon returning home, "Mama Mad Dawg" shares the often-lighthearted tales of an Army Reserve Transportation Company, as they live and drive the highways between Iraq and Kuwait.

As a former soldier that had the honor to serve under SFC Chambers, not on the combat zone, but at our home base, her recount of the daily missions and life in Kuwait and Iraq, transport me right beside her. She is a true hero!! It's a must in every home library.

WOW! I got the feeling I was right there with her, sharing all the experiences! This would be great for anyone with family and friends over there, or even if you want to get some insight of what our troops go through on a day to day basis. A must read!

This is a great book!! It is funny, sad, poignant and timely. You really get a glimpse into what life is like for our troops in Iraq. It is personal, and you are rivited from the very first words! Very fast read!

This book to me is must read. There are not many books about life in a Transportation Unit. This one is about life on the roads of Iraq, in the camps and what was encountered during OIF I. Combat units may get the glory but with out The Army's Transportation Corps, those units could never do their jobs. Having been in there during this time, I know what is written in this book is real and true.
