One of the most thought-provoking, profoundest meditations on life that I have ever read, Wanda Octave's `My Life Interpreted' is a special collection of the author's words of wisdom. It is genuinely sincere and thoughtfully written, and you can palpably feel the truth of its words right in the introduction. Although `My Life Interpreted' is basically about what Wanda Octave learned from Wanda's own life, the experiences are sort of filtered through a "wisdom sieve"--the smallest, seemingly pedestrian events become meaningful happenings--from Wanda's enlightened perspective, everything happens for a reason, and such reasons are deftly understood from a place of deep meaning.  `My Life Interpreted' should be everyone's `elbow books'--those special types of books that are kept on a shelf "right by your elbow" so that anytime you feel down or upset, when something you expected did not come to fruition, when life seems to be throwing you lemons--and cartloads of them--you can always resort to Octave's words of wisdom, browse to, say, the chapter called "Health and Happiness", and I'm sure you'll instantly regain your bearings. When your confidence wavers, jump to #48, "Observe yourself." And when you worry too much, jump to #21, "Burst that Bubble." Indeed, this book can serve as your daily guide map as you negotiate with this beautiful and terrifying thing called life, and I believe it can help you keep your head above water as well. Never preachy, always emphatic, and often entertaining, Octave's book is a celebration of life, the day's littlest achievements, and even the simple fact that you are alive. As Octave asserts right in the first page, "Life is short...and it is constantly speaking to you. Listen." And you can start listening by ordering a copy of this book--you can even gift the book to friends you care most about. This is an indispensable book. I highly recommend this.
