Sixth-grade Morgan and her classmates are completely unprepared when a guest author--who's friendly with crows and talks like Dracula--volunteers to teach their English class. The kids are justifiably suspicious, and are convinced the woman is a witch. Morgan sets out to expose the author's evil motives, but can she do it before the whole class falls under her spell?

A strange foreigner for a teacher, a student conspiracy with magic spells---what could be more fun! This book is very inspiring for young writers finding their voice, and it adds in dashes of learning to value diversity and recognizing the real magic in our lives. It would be great for parents to read aloud or for teachers to use in middle grade classrooms. It may very well inspire young writers to participate in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), which has great support for kids. I wish something like this had been available when I was a young writer. Christiann Howard Author of the Jilian X Murder Mysteries
