Overview

From New York Times bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes MY PEN IS HUGE, a Standalone Romantic Comedy.

Dear Mr. Merrick,

I quit.

And since you're obsessed with your stupid pen collection, I thought it appropriate to take the big one you love so much and write my resignation letter. Kiss your pen goodbye, big man!

Because when I agreed to work for you-a hotshot journalist I've admired for years-no one told me that you had a secret life and that you'd bug my apartment, have someone killed, and make the moves on me just to test whether I'm serious about this job.

I mean, come on! What kind of boss does that? Yes, you're ten degrees hotter than the sun, and you melt panties everywhere you go, but this "little intern" is done with your games.

From this day forward, consider me your mortal enemy, your biggest threat. Maybe your pen is huge, but my determination is bigger. See you on the battlefield, Mr. Big Pen.

Your ex-admirer,

Gisselle Walters

Mimi Jean did not disappoint in another OHellNo series . The humor and sexy scenes are wonderful. it was nice how closely it tied into her previous book. She has become my favorite author.

Chock full of Pen jokes and double entendres how can you go wrong? Gisselle Walters is a fresh out of college journalist with her sights set on doing pieces to change the world. Landing an internship with Leland Merrick a legendary journalist known for getting the story no matter the situation is just the way to get her started down that path. Unfortunately nothing is that simple, the two are like fire and kerosene together. Day one is fraught with misunderstandings, overheard conversations that may or may not be completely inappropriate, a source with information on a dangerous public figure, and serious case of frustration. Merrick is a complete chauvinist who doesn’t have time for female intern, as no female can do what he does. Gisselle is determined to prove to him that she can not only do the job, but scoop him in the process. This Enemies to lovers rom com, exceeds what one would typically expect from the genre. It is deftly told from a dual perspective giving the reader an entertaining stroll through the shenanigans of rather complex characters. Ultimately Mimi Jean writes the banter between a Texas girl and true English “Gentleman” flawlessly, while telling an engaging tale of flawed characters who are not only eccentric, and slightly over the top, but also curiously relatable. She once again writes a book that is snarky, fun, twisty, and unexpected in the way you’ve come to expect from her. Although you can read this as a standalone it is a great fifth installment to the “series” with interconnected characters that flashes with moments seen in Battle of the Bulge. Though this book wraps up the core of Gisselle and Lelands story, there is a mild cliffhanger at the end, leaving it to easily and seamlessly continue into another installment.

Favorite Quotes: Little does he know that while Camila has the mouth of a sailor, she’s not an easy can-o’-woman to open. I will agree to meet… if you get down on your knees and apologize for the mean-ass crap you said and concede that I am not inferior to you simply because I have a lady garden instead of a flagpole. The way he’s looking at me makes my chest buzz. I want to run away, but at the same time a flaming asteroid hurtling from the sky couldn’t move me. The need to be here with him feels like the nail-biter climax from the best suspense movie you’ve ever seen, plus the biggest tear-jerking happy moment of your life (finding your lost puppy), added to seeing a man so hot you stop whatever you’re doing and just absorb the heat. My Review: This was a fun, quick, and saucy rom/com full of irreverent humor, sensual steam, whimsical and outrageous situations, and quirky characters. More often than not, the build up of those we have lovingly admired could never hold up to the reality of meeting them and discovering they have cooties. And that is what happened to Gisselle, fresh out of university with her journalism degree and eager to start her dream job with her idol/international daredevil/journalist/lady killer/Leland Merrick. The sexy and globally acclaimed Leland turns out to be an infuriating Neanderthal and a first-class asshat. And her dream job; it lasted all of a few days. So what is an idealistic young woman to do but make him pay by becoming his competition, and she does, although things are not as they seem – are they ever?

Loved Leland and Gisselle! Leland Merrick is a renowned journalist. Gisselle is recommended by her professor who is friends with Leland for a job as his assistant. The rest is pure fun, sassy banter, intrigue, and suspense. Get ready for a great ride! The OHellNo series is definitely my favorite!

Excuse me while I go dab at my eyes from laughing so hard. In case you can’t tell from the blurb or even the cover, this book is a hilarious, laugh out loud, enemies to lovers romance. I had a horribly stressful week and My Pen Is Huge brightened my day and pulled me out of my funk. True to this author’s past works, she created a fun cast of quirky and endearing characters and humorous situations that kept me entertained until the very end and left me frantically searching for the release date for her next book. Gisselle is my kind of heroine in that she is strong-will, determined, and eager to change the world. She is definitely persistent and refuses to bow down to the infamous journalist Leland Merrick. According to Gisselle, Leland “is the definition of persnickety”. He presents himself as a confident somewhat chauvinistic journalist who dives headfirst into dangerous situations to get a story. He is mysterious, head turning handsome, and arrogant. He finds himself inexplicably drawn towards feisty Gisselle. Things are not all that they seem to be and these two have some interesting encounters with each other and some banter that will have you laughing until you cry. This book is a part of the author’s OHellno series. It can be read as a standalone, however, there are spoilers for the previous book - Battle of the Bulge. I received an early complimentary version of this book.

My Pen is Huge is book five in the OHellNo series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. This book is a little different than the rest of this series. But, true to form, is full of the OTT hilarity this author is known for. Gisselle Walters is twenty two years old, fresh out of college and ready to take on the world as a journalist. Her professor has recommended her for a job as an assistant to the legendary Leland Merrick. Gisselle needs this job. She’s buried in student loan debt. But even more than that, she wants to learn from the best. And that is what Leland is, the best in the business. Leland Merrick is a journalist with dark secrets. He works alone, often in very dangerous situations. Plus, he has some pretty strong views about women being in some of the places his work takes him. He can’t deny, though, that Gisselle is beautiful. Their first meeting, he could feel the electric current between them. “Leland Merrick is not what I expected. He is so much more.” I would call this an enemies to lovers story because even with all the sexual chemistry between these two, they don’t get off to a very good start. Leland does everything he can to keep Gisselle out of the way and safe and Gisselle does everything she can to stay right in the thick of things. All the while, that thing between them is growing until it’s impossible not to accept the inevitable. Leland and Gisselle find themselves in one crazy situation after another as they try to navigate both the case they are dealing with and their feelings for each other. The other books in this series I felt more of the love story between the characters. This one, though, I had more trouble connecting with the romance part of things with everything else going on. But, if you enjoy crazy shenanigans, laugh out loud moments and some smexy times, as these two try to figure things out, then this book is for you.

Loved reading the phenomenally amazing and extraordinary romance book. When Giselle gets the chance to work with the number one journalist, Leland Merrick, she can't believe her luck, but Gisselle finds the handsome, arrogant, know it all, Merrick, not taking her aspirations to be a journalist seriously. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, engaging and riveting storying capturing the reader from the first page of the story until the last page of the story. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
