Overview

There are many children suffering from Alopecia. This is a children's book based upon my son who wore a red hat. The book explains why. I wrote this book in hopes to spread a message about Alopecia. Alopecia is an incurable disease that attacks the hair follicles and kills them leaving the child hairless. There are three types of Alopecia. Proceeds from the sale of this book will go to help children with Alopecia. The foundation is called the Alopecia Areata Foundation.

About the Author

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. A mother of five children. Her oldest son was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata when he was three years old. Then at the age of five, he was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis. Since then she has taken the time to educate family, friends, colleges and her children's schools about this incurable disease.

In 2008, she decided to write a children's book that would be fun and educational for children to read, yet at the same time spreading the word about Alopecia. Her son was the inspiration to this book for he always wore the red hat that was purchased by his grandparents when he went to visit them on his summer vacation.

*The author will donate a portion of the sales made from this book to children who suffer with this disease. The foundation is called that Alopecia Areata Foundation.
