Miranda Cortland survived a reality TV show and emerged a winner. Now she wants her life back. She plans to open a tea room. She is meeting Damien Fraser to buy a small building on his horse farm. There is powerful attraction between them but just as powerful is their fear of love. They are both fugitives from Hollywood who have unresolved issues with their respective families. Can these two find a HEA? Joanne Rock gives us a sizzling, sexy romance filled with two remarkable characters. Miranda is a mixture of strength and vulnerability. She and Damien are well matched. I loved the way they faced their problems and worked through them. The strength of their love touched me. This was such a well written book. It was a perfect winter escape.

I was surprised to enjoy this book as much as i did because for the title i was afraid it would be too steamy for me. Joanne Rock did write a steamy story , two in fact if we count the one Miranda is writing as her own erotic novel; however the relationship between Damien and Miranda is more on teh sweet side. They do have steamy scene yes but they learn about each other slowly, come to trust each other and with their hesitation and fears they are both sweet. I loved to see Damien discovers himself and Miranda is stronger than she thought. I just would have wanted to see Rick punished strongly^^;; and Miranda 's sister get what she deserves and it would have been even better The plot isn't too original but the wrote it in a way that you get immersed in the story and want to see how and what will happen, you can have guesses but you want to be sure. it was good contemporary romance

A plot with heart & steaminess. Win! *Book source ~ A review copy was provided in exchange for an honest review. Miranda Cortland just wants to leave L.A. and the fame from winning the reality show Gutsy Girl behind. She wants to use the winnings to open her own business, a tearoom in Sonoma. She didn’t count on a stubborn, sexy rancher to put the kibosh on buying her dream site. Well, she’s never been one to let a setback stop her, so she’ll see if she can work on the ranch for a bit while she comes up with Plan B. And Damien Fraser can’t say no to her. Will he let the best thing to walk into his life walk right back out? And will she be able to leave?  I’m not a fan of reality shows or their ‘stars’, but Miranda is a very likeable character. She’s nice, gutsy, focused and yet she’s free-spirited, too. It helps that this book isn’t about the show itself, but about the winner’s life after. Not to mention the hurt she’s endured in the past. Damien is a complex, wonderful and flawed character. He is also extremely focused on building his thoroughbred ranch. Watching these two damaged characters come together is beautiful and delightful.   I’ve been a reader of Harlequins for decades. Yeesh! That makes me sound really old. I started reading them when I was 10 (my  mom gave me the really old tame ones from the 50s) and I now have tons of them in my home library. I remember when Harlequin came out with the Blaze line (no age jokes now!) and I was so happy to have something steamier to read. Joanne Rock (among a few others) became my favorite Go To author for deliciousness between the covers. Even though I haven’t read very many Harlequins in about 10 years now, I can say that Joanne Rock is still delighting me. Bravo!

This is a really good story and just what I would expect of any Blaze book. It has the right amount of heat with a story line that kept my interest from beginning to end.  Miranda Cortland is trying to put her past behind her. She was on a reality television show not long ago and desperately wants to get away from the hectic L.A. life. What better way than to open a quiet little business along the Sonoma Coast. She’s found the perfect place, and as long as the owner does not recognize her everything should be good. Sometimes we don’t always get what we wish for.  Damien Fraser owns the property that houses the charming little building that Miranda wants to use for her shop. He’s gotten away from the media world, and he is happy where is life is right now. He needs the money that he can get from selling Miranda the building on his property, but there is no way that he wants the media in his world again and that’s exactly what she will bring to his peaceful life. He’s not sure if she’s really here for the property or if she knows who he is and wants to use him for his connections in the film industry. But she steps right in when he needs help and that causes Damien to feel really bad that he cannot sell her the building, so he finds himself letting her stay in one of his rooms until she finds another place to open her business.  Miranda is secretly writing her first naughty romance novel, and before she knows it she starts seeing Damien as her hero in the story. Will be willing to help her act out any of the sexy scenes? Damien has been used by so many women that he does not trust easily. Will Miranda prove to him that she is out to use him like those other women? Or will he open his heart and find that they both can fulfill their dreams? I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I give it 3.5 stars. I was given this book to review. It was the first time I’ve ever read Joanne Rock but it won’t be the last. I won’t go into the description of the story as you can find it above. Joanne Rock writes a story with a sexy theme. And while it has a very suggestive title and does in fact contain a few sexy scenes, it is actually a sweet, funny love story. It’s the standard romance theme, with no real surprises, but I was not disappointed. I didn't give it a higher score only because I easily predicted the ending very early on. My Secret Fantasies is a nice, easy, entertaining read. It has an interesting story line that unfolds at a steady pace. It doesn’t rush into conclusions, or wrap it up too abruptly. This book was well written with a good bit of humor. It depicted realistic scenarios without any over the top heroics. The characters were genuine and enjoyable. They are written with such detail you really feel you know them. They were famous, but didn’t live outrageous lives. I felt their circumstances were well thought out, and aptly described the issues of today.

Love the chemistry between Miranda and Damien. She is escaping her past and trying to create her own business. Things sizzle between The two, and they find themselves falling hard for each other. Her past catches up to her and together they take steps to handle it. Lots of romance, and twists! Teresaalsara

I was given this book by author for honest review. Running from the media and wanting a place of her own Miranda heads to a new life at Fraser Farms. Damien the owner is leery to begin with but soon realizes the spunky “Gusty Girl” is the one for him. Things are heated in this somewhat suspense story of love and fantasies.

I really loved this book!  It was a great read.  The couple, Miranda and Damien, both have issues, and go through much to resolve them,  and fall in love so that they can have their happily ever after.  My favorites are in there, horses, living in a peaceful, quiet community, and tea!  I do not want to reveal much because I do not want to ruin the experience for anyone.

I received from the author in exchange for an honest review. Loved this book! It was very fast and fun. Miranda is such a spunky fun character. She's very relatable. She ran from home at 18 to become an actress but realized that's not what she really wanted to do. She more just wanted something exotic and to escape her horrible family and ex. Her passion was working at a tea room with her best friend. She wanted to open her own shop and decided to use the winnings from the reality show gusty girl. Damien wants to keep out of the spotlight since that's where he grew up. He's all set to sell a spot on his farm to Miranda until he realizes that she was on a tv show and doesn't want the media that would follow her. He soon realizes that she doesn't want the attention and starts falling for her. The chemistry between the two was very steamy. I loved how he let her call the shots on how fast they moved since she was hurt so badly by her ex. He was very protective of her and wanted to help her heal. Definitely recommend if looking for a fun fast read.

This is the first book I have read written by Joanne but WILL NOT be the last. From page one you will love the characters and want to know how it ends. Don’t start if you don’t have time to finish this at times funny, steamy book.

This book was a well written book that was hard to put down. Both Mrianda and Damien experienced first hand how the allure of Hollywood could great interfere in one's life. They both sought a quiet life. They both quickly learned that the passion that Miranda was writing about in a book she hoped to published was more. They both, however, were willing to sacrifice their love so the other could have the quiet life outside of the paparazzi's radar screen. The book has a great ending.

I enjoyed this book! I liked the characters, the setting, their situation, and am looking forward to the third Fraser brother book. While I have not read a Harlequin book in awhile, I will be checking for other Joanne Rock books. She writes a great story. Even though I received this book from the author with the understanding that I would write a review, I will definitely purchase her books in the future.

In My Secret Fantasies, Joanne Rock brings us back to the Fraser family. This time, Damien is in the hot seat as Miranda Cortland descends on his quiet little horse farm in Sonoma, California. The recent winner of a television reality show, Miranda brings with her all the Hollywood trappings that Damien though he left behind at 17 when he escaped tinsel town for good. Though Miranda is trying to escape her Hollywood persona, Damien initially sees her as one of the starlets that always tried to get close to him in an effort to get close to his famous father. With Damien’s help, Miranda is able to make the Hollywood connection work for her. She in turn helps Damien realize he needs more in his life than just work. Miranda and Damien are a fun couple. They are more alike than they first realize. It was fun to catch up with the second of the Fraser brothers. Here’s hoping we get to see the third one here soon.
