“Once in a lifetime, if you’re lucky, a Coup de Foudre strikes. This happened to me the first time I set eyes on Mark Bouchard.”
So begins this fast-paced, romcom, in which Malibu O’Hare, who has always prided herself on her cool demeanor regarding the opposite sex, comes face-to-face with Creole Chef Mark Bouchard and his past.
More than the steaks at Scandal restaurant begin to sizzle as Susan Jean Ricci, the beloved From Women’s Pens author of the Cindy’s Crusades series, weaves yet another hilarious, but tangled web.

Malibu works for Priscilla as a junior editor. When a client backs out of dinner meeting, Priscilla asks Malibu to join her. They decide to go to the new 'it' spot, Scandals. It wasn't an easy place to get seated. While looking at the menu, Malibu glances up. There in the kitchen was a hot looking guy. She couldn't stop staring at the man. Mark is the chef at Scandals. He loves to cook and he's very good at what he does. When he looks up to check out the dining room, his eyes land on this beautiful redhead. She's distracting, but Mark is enjoying it. He has to find out who she is and where she lives. Intense heat after a chance meeting, Mark and Malibu could feel the electricity between them. The writing is solid and the characters lovable. The pacing is terrific. It moves right along and before you know it, you've finished the book. I really enjoyed reading how these two were like magnets from the first glance. I laughed and fell in love right along with Malibu. This author can create a sweet, sensual story without being graphic. I loved that! I have been recommending this book to everyone. Ms. Ricci is a very down to earth writer. Her characters just leap off the page. Get this one. I didn't find issues with this one. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~ I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because I could picture a couple of my friends in Malibu's shoes.
Romance readers will love this satisfying sassy, sexy and fun read! I loved it! Author Susan Ricci had me at page one. Immediately captivated by capable and confident editorial assistant Malibu O’Hare, the reader is drawn, as she is, to Creole chef, Mark Bouchard. Brought together by chance, the chef at Manhattan’s hottest dining destination, Mark is the perfect blend of alpha male and mysterious stranger. As the story unfolds, one can’t help but root for this budding romance full of intrigue, surprises, laughs and trickery in the name of love and friendship!
Reviewed by Tracy Slowiak for Readers' Favorite In a fun, quick romp of a romantic comedy read, My Sexy Chef by Susan Jean Ricci is an entertaining novella that’s also a great read, following the story of Malibu O’Hare as she meets the handsome and extremely sexy chef of the new hot spot in town, Scandal Bistro, Mark Bouchard. Falling head over heels in, well, probably not love exactly, but at least lust, Malibu can barely tear her eyes away from him long enough to focus on the news her boss Priscilla has for her - that she’s being promoted to junior editor in the publishing house she works for, with several decent authors ready to work with her. And when she sees Mark, the sexy Creole, outside her apartment later that evening, well, her night’s only set to get better from there. This was a great read, especially for those moments when someone is looking for a quick read with a decent amount of spice and a lot of moments that will have you giggling. My Sexy Chef is a book that would be enjoyed by anyone who loves a spicy romance, a fast paced read with some great characters and a great start to a new series. Author Susan Jean Ricci is gifted at writing deftly and sketching out the basics needed for a complete story without adding too much “fluff” to fatten up a story unnecessarily. I understand that this is the first novella in a planned Sexy Chef series, and I, for one, am very much looking forward to the next installment.
