When Bess is in her sleepy room, she feels snug and warm, "like a big hug." Whether she is daydreaming, reading, playing, or sleeping, her room is her haven. Everything in it her books, her beloved panda, her doll house, and her bunny clock has special meaning for her. She takes pleasure in the stars on the wallpaper that reflect those in the night sky, her new big bed, and the fluffy quilt that covers it.
