About the Author

C.L. Hunter started writing poetry as a young girl. Her grandparents owned newspapers in Arkansas: the McCrory Leader and the Augusta Advocate. She'd send them those poems. In return they'd print them in the weekly newspaper and send the clippings back to her. That started her love for writing.
She attended Arkansas State, studying business, but started a family early having three children. Hunter considers herself a Floridian, having lived in Saint Augustine since the age of seven. She loves the beach and hot, humid weather-the hotter the better. She is an avid gardener, loving every type of flower God created. You'll find flowers in all her books. She also loves boating and anything that has to do with the water. When she's not writing, she's a design consultant for a custom homebuilder in Jacksonville, Florida.
Hunter has written several short stories, but keeps them under lock and key. Her first novel, Your Soul Was Made for Mine, won Readers Favorite Silver Award and the Benjamin Franklin Digital Silver Honoree Award.

Reviewed by Romuald Dzemo for Readers' Favorite My Soul Belongs to You by C.L. Hunter is a tantalizing romance with solid characters, a compelling plot, and a great conflict. Katlyn Reynolds has had a history of loss and deep hurt in her teenage years, including a daughter she had to give up for adoption. She is the kind of woman whom experience has taught to not trust any man. Her life becomes her business and she is best at it, succeeding in creating a flourishing advertising business. But the protective wall around her breaks down when she meets Deacon O’Mallery, an Irish boy abandoned by his mother, but now a successful executive in one of the largest Intel companies in Europe. The attraction between the two is magnetic. Will Deacon find in Katlyn the love of a mother who abandoned him or can Katlyn still discover in this irresistible man the freedom of love? The writing is excellent. Magnetic. Absorbing. C.L. Hunter casts a spell on readers with the very first words of the novel and manages to keep it alive throughout the story. The voice is clear, irresistible, and she writes with awesome confidence. Listen to these lines as they capture the loneliness of the protagonist, introducing one of the conflicts in the story: “I sat alone in the corner of the British pub in Hilton, thinking it was the closest I’d feel to Deacon for a long time. This was the last place we were together in public. I felt a tear, but I sucked it up. Big girls don’t cry. I laughed at myself. That was the title of the other song that played around in my head regularly these days.” My Soul Belongs to You scores successfully on different levels. The plot, though not so complex, is fraught with surprises. It is steady and well-paced. Readers will love the characters, who are well-developed, and they will enjoy the metamorphoses taking place in them. I loved this book. Loved it so much that it hurt having to turn the last page.

Reviewed by Arya Fomonyuy for Readers' Favorite My Soul Belongs to You by C.L. Hunter is another beautiful entry in the Soul Mates series, a great story of love that will undoubtedly appeal to fans of romance. Readers are introduced to two powerful characters, Katlyn and Deacon, both professionals in their own right. While Katlyn has lost faith in true love and lives with an unnamed longing, she’s built a wall around her to protect her fragility. On the other hand, Deacon is a man who was abandoned in childhood by his mother, an attractive man with a charm that disarms women in unfathomable ways. When the two meet, a fire ignites that will transform their lives and set them on a journey towards self-discovery and healing. This is a romance that isn’t just about the attraction. C.L. Hunter leads readers into the very soul of the characters, letting them touch and feel their darkness, their fears and uncertainties, and then surprising them with the light that emanates from the humanity of these characters. The plot is well-woven and the story is told with elegance and style. The first person narrative makes the read irresistible and it feels like the narrators, who are the characters themselves, are talking straight to the reader’s heart. This style allows the reader to get a powerful grasp of the psychological conflicts the characters are going through. I didn’t read the first book in this series, but I am quite sure it’s the next book I am going for. The writing is so well-accomplished that it leaves the reader wanting more, utterly satisfied and loving the characters. My Soul Belongs to You is a satisfying read. A very enjoyable romance from a gifted writer.

Reviewed by Benjamin Ookami for Readers' Favorite My Soul Belongs to You is the second installment in C.L. Hunter's Soul Mates Series. Kate and Deacon live worlds apart. One lives in Ireland and the other in the United States. Whenever they are in close proximity to each other, one thing is certain: they want each other badly. But there are things that keep Kate from having a real relationship with Deacon. Deacon, when he's not daydreaming about Kate, continues his search for his mother, a woman he never knew. When Kate pays a visit to Ireland, two things happen. One, Kate helps Deacon in the search for his mother. Two, an angel warns Deacon that Kate is in danger. Meanwhile, Kate's own extended search for the daughter she never knew continues. While the author teases us at first with a possible hot scene involving Kate and Deacon, there is a lot going on in this book for a reader to be primarily concerned with that. Perhaps one could say that this second installment is written with the main intent of getting a few mental hurdles out of Kate and Deacon's way before they can finally enjoy being a couple. Kate is especially put to the test as she pushes herself to her limits when it comes to sexual pleasures. Something awful has happened to her as a teenager; the time has come for her to battle her demons. With a slight dab of the supernatural, Hunter gives us hot moments coupled with two people pitted against inner turmoil.

Reviewed by Stephen Fisher for Readers' Favorite My Soul Belongs to You, Soul Mates, Volume Two by C.L. Hunter is a modern day romance that begins with Kate traveling to Ireland, after she and Deacon split up. She was going to visit her friends, Emmalyn, and Nolan, at their castle. Kate doesn't want Deacon to know that she is in the same country. Deacon had just spent a drug induced night with his long time friend, Nessa. By the time he wakes up, it is in the afternoon so he exits as fast as he can. After the two talk at the office, Nessa hands him a note that she received last night from an American man that instructed him to stay in Ireland, and to stay away from Katlyn, or else it would not end well for him. After he gets himself tested for STDs, he goes home. While what he believes is daydreaming, he is visited by his guardian angels, Thomas and Calista, who cleanse him of the drugs and warn him that he is in danger. They tell Deacon that all he has to do is ask for them, and they would be there for him. Rebelling at what the note implied, Deacon decides to visit his friend, Nolan, at the castle before catching a flight to America. C.L. Hunter does a splendid job of entwining the plot of this international romance between Deacon and Katlyn. she has created wonderfully developed characters that jump off the page. The two main characters have a couple of things in common between them, one being adopted and the other giving up a first child up for adoption. Add in that they both are usually 'love them and leave them' types. When it comes to each other, outside and divine influences are intent on playing a role in the outcome. Ms. Hunter is able to convey the passion that builds up between Kate and Deacon so that time and time again, just when you think it couldn't get any hotter, something unforeseen douses the flames. My Soul Belongs to You is full of 'edge of your seat' surprises, lustful desire, and some very tastefully written romance. What more could you ask for? Brava!

Reviewed by Chris Fischer for Readers' Favorite Wow! Just, wow! That’s exactly what I thought when I finished reading My Soul Belongs to You, the second volume in the Soul Mates series by author C.L. Hunter. This story grabbed me from the very start and kept me obsessively reading until the wee hours of the night, all the way until the very end! Follow the story of Katlyn Reynolds, a successful advertising executive who is haunted by the decision she made to place a daughter up for adoption when she was sixteen years old, as she lives her life as a fiercely independent, 'love them and leave them' type of woman. But when she meets handsome Irishman Deacon O’Mallery, her previous determination to remain on her own starts to waver. Will he be able to change her mind? You’ll need to read this awesome tale to find out. I so enjoyed My Soul Belongs to You. Author C.L. Hunter has done a great job in creating characters that her readers will relate to, connect with, and will truly come to care about. If that isn’t a hallmark of a great author, I’m not sure what is. And talk about a sizzling story…this is definitely that! The fireworks between Katlyn and Deacon are sure to keep you hot and bothered, and hopeful that they will end up together in the end. Any reader who loves a sexy romance story should absolutely read this book. I am so pleased to be able to highly recommend My Soul Belongs to You, and I look forward to reading more from author C.L. Hunter as soon as I am able to do so!

"My Soul Belongs to You" is brilliant. It captures all the elements that a turn-pager book needs to get your attention including many different unexpected treasures along the way. This isn't just a typical romance novel. It steps out of the cliche and has its own unique genre. There is suspense, fantasy, and romance woven together to make this book an incredibly enjoying read that I couldn't put down. This is the second book in the Soul Mate series, but it can stand alone. I can't wait for the next book in the series, "Our Souls Entwined" to come out so I can snatch it up. If you want to read the series in order, the first book is, "Your Soul Was Made for Mine." C L Hunter’s latest offering proved to be a thrill packed ride of erotica, romance, thrills and spills. I’m not generally a romance reader but having been looking to branch outside my usual reading comfort zone as part of a reading challenge, and so far have really enjoyed what I’ve found. The characters are more detailed than I’d have expected from what I, perhaps wrongly, thought was a genre of more about the thrills than great depth, but I enjoyed the story of Katlyn and Deacon. In fact I expect I’ll read more from Hunter at some point in the future.

Series books that also offer enough when reading out of order are a favourite of mine. I discovered this a few years ago by accident, and when going back to start from earlier books there is a whole new realm of depth that further adds to the overall experience. Reading other reviews of My Soul Belongs to You this is what came across to me so I took the plunge and read it for myself. C.L. Hunter is obviously a writer with a lot of talent, which is what first came across to me. I love the characters and how their introduction is handled in such a provocative way. The scene setting is also subtle but painted with just the right amount of detail so that they never overpower the prose, which is fast and punchy. I’m now off to read Your Soul Was Made for Mine, and hoping for further books in the series.

Another fantastic read from C L Hunter. My Soul Belongs to You gets underway with the same great writing and fire that I’ve learned to expect, and with Katlyn and Deacon we have great characters that both have complexities and depth. Mystical love affairs don’t come any better than this, believe me, I‘ve read enough of them, and now I can’t wait to read Hunter’s next book.

This is a cute romance! The entire story is focused on Deacon and Kate and their rise to a future together. This is Hunter's second novel about them, but I caught up to what was happening very quickly. I am thinking about going back and reading the first novel, because the story is so intense and fun. Deacon is so careful with Kate, more so than the average male, and she comes to trust him with all her secrets and pain. They are blessed with human and angel friendships, and the angels are awesome. They only appear in times of extreme emotion, and need, but still watch the lives of their charges and use all available to them to keep life running smoothly. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an erotic chick flik. It is more chick flik than erotic, but that is important to the story, and it is part of Kate's emotional journey. The Irish culture element is amazing too. Highly infused and explained, the cultural references are a part of the story instead of being a side feature.

My Soul Belongs to You (Soul Mates Book 2) by C.L. Hunter is a well put together combination of genres, not the least of which is romance. Toss in a little touch of angels, eroticism, and huge amounts of charisma and electricity between Katlyn and Deacon and you have a great story. Hunter is great at fully developing the characters and even manages to avoid some of the more common cliches that are so often found in romance novels. When the two main characters meet, their respective pasts pose some trouble, and could possibly come between them, but Hunter finds a way for true love to prevail. With an added dimension of angels in the spirit world that watch over Katlyn and Deacon, you have a sweet and inspiring element. Thrills and suspense are not far to be found either, and Hunter captures the pace of the plot firmly in this story, guiding the reader to the satisfying ending. Not to be missed for romance lovers and others alike.

The book Black Inked Pearl: A Girls Quest by Ruth Finnegan is different than what I normally read but I did enjoy it. It's definitely written as romantic poetry and although I was afraid I wouldn't like that I found myself continuing to read to see what happened. It was difficult to follow at times but I just had to see if she found him! It is written more like her thoughts as opposed to a manuscript. It's about our heroine Kate. She falls in love at the age of fifteen with a mysterious stranger but turns him away out of fear. She spends time thinking about her life and the way she was raised and realizes what she's done and that begins her search for her one true love. She searches everywhere, even Eden and Hell and is helped along the way by some intriguing characters. I think the characters were my favorite part of this story! Such interesting people she meets on her journey. Such a lovely story! I love that through it all she realized she had to find herself along the way as well as her true love.

My Soul Belongs to You by C.L. Hunter is a fascinating story about two star crossed lovers who seem destined to be together, but they struggle immensely in trying to get their happily ever after ending. Katelyn, an American girl, with ghosts from her pasts that haunts her and keeps her reserved never thought she would find a man that she would open up to and trust. Deacon, the hunk from Ireland, has his own ghosts from the past that haunts him. When the two meet, the electricity sparks between them. However, their sordid pasts put up many obstacles that must be overcome before they can cement a relationship together. Hunter weaves a tangled web of interconnected storylines that keeps the reader intrigued and in suspense the entire time. You are rooting for Katelyn and Deacon to put their demons to rest and find a way to make their love connection work. Hunter does an excellent job of building each character so that the reader becomes emotionally invested in the character, which is crucial when writing a romance novel. The author gave an added dimension of a spirit world, with angels who watch over the main characters. I highly recommend this story for those who love romance with a strong edge of thrills and suspense. This story has it all, and I did not want to put it down because I just had to know how it was all going to end for Katelyn and Deacon. It was so enthralling that I look forward to reading C.L. Hunter’s sequel to this story! I give My Soul Belongs to You 5 out of 5 stars!

Katlyn and Deacon’s story in My Soul Belongs to You is so compelling I forgot this was the second book in the series. Of course after finishing I immediately started on the first, but I don’t feel I missed out on anything from beginning with book two. Hunter does a fantastic job of developing the characters, and avoiding the predictable clichés we as readers have gotten used to in the overcrowded romance genre. It takes a lot for a book to stand out ahead of its contemporaries and I believe My Soul Belongs to You absolutely does. The changing backdrop kept me interested while the writing and twists were the real hook. Hunter is a writer I feel will soon be discovered and become a household name, and I’m glad I got to experience her work without any preconceived idea of what I would find.

Man when you read this one make sure you are READY! This is a fast paced story of fantasy, angels, romance, and erotica all wrapped into an amazing story that I couldn’t put down. I really loved book one and this one was even better! It will touch both your heart and soul and you won’t be able to let it go until the last page. This author did a wonderful job with Katlyn and Deacon! I loved the weaving the author did and it worked out perfectly. The two had a ton of great chemistry and the intro of the angels was even better. This was a wonderful story that will leave you with the feels! And it will leave you wanting to know more! I can’t wait for book three!

After reading Book 1 of this series, I had to read this one! A great read. It is different from the first in a lot of ways; if you thought book 1 lacked the “intimate” scenes, you’ll appreciate that this book has several. Personally, I’m OK either way. The supernatural aspect of this book is more talents than spiritual.  The characters were well developed and easily relatable. The story was realistic and written to provide a smooth read. I would recommend this book and look forward to book 3.  Overall, I loved this book, but nothing can compare to Your Soul Was Made For Mine (Book 1.) I rate it with a strong 4 stars.
