## My Spy: FINALLY: A BEAUTIFUL, CAPABLE, STRONG, FUN-LOVING HEROINE. Thank you, thank you Ms. Marton. I am sooooo tired of these plump, plain, weak, doormats with weight issues. This is fiction and I want to be entertained, not depressed. This book was fantastic. I loved that the hero wasn't some ladies' man. That was so refreshing. He and the heroine had some major chemistry going on. Nice job. Will read again.

Wonderful Book!!! Dana Marton has done it again with another fantastic book. This book has it all romance, and suspense that will keep your attention from the first page. I loved Bree who is a strong willed Deputy Sheriff, and tough as nails Jamie who is working undercover to stop terrorists.I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down, I had to find out what happens next. They had to deal with emotional issues and healing, along with a stalker, gangs, counterfeiters, and terrorists. If you like a good romance with some suspense that will keep you reading until the end, then you need to read this book! I can't wait to read the next book in this series and see which one of Jamie's good looking partners fall in love next.  A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Jose Naroksy once said, “In war, there are no unwounded soldiers.” That’s why Ms. Marton’s book, My Spy, hooked me in the first few pages. The usual, Alpha Warrior male character that is focused, impenetrable, indestructible, and commonly written about in such intrigue mysteries, is actually a wounded warrior with prosthetic legs. He has as many internal scars as exterior. I found that to be refreshing and frightening real given his profession. The hero, Jamie Cassidy, a member of a six man team, tracking a terrorist, code name Coyote. This Coyote has operations that include smuggling humans, weapons, drugs, and possibly counterfeit money. Jamie is determined to identify the Coyote and stop his criminal enterprise. Ms. Marton’s revealing of layers of scars Jamie carries is impressive writing. These scars are revealed to be from a previous mission gone horribly wrong. The pain of guilt for the deaths of innocent lives he was unable to save, makes the reader want to reach out and comfort him. Ms. Marton’s accurate portrayal of the inner demons this character faces seems all too real in the war on terrorism facing our world today. The heroine, Bree Tridle is a Deputy Sheriff, and a former beauty queen of Texas. Did I buy what Ms. Marton was selling with this character? Yes, I could see the correlation of pageants and preforming, to the characters’ ability to make people respond to her. Several times throughout the book, Bree’s ability to communicate and sell herself to prospective informants aids in her investigation. Another aspect to Ms. Marton’s book that I found refreshingly real was the character of Katie Tridle. Katie is Bree’s younger Autistic sister. Although, I would have liked to know a little more about the detail of Katie’s work, I did feel Ms. Marton’s depiction of the behaviorisms of Autism, and effect upon their families to be precise. However, there were a few characters that I found to be lacking or just thrown in there. One was Bree’s stalker, Jason Tanner. I kept wondering, what does this have to do with the Coyote? It turns out, nothing. Then, the fatal shooting of a dear neighbor, Eleanor, seemed to be a little too convenient. Not to mention, Bree’s evening ritual of dinner with Katie. Given that Bree’s occupation is Sheriff Deputy, not a 9-5 standard business schedule, made the nightly dinners a harder sale for me. In the end, the relationship between Jamie and Bree is developed nicely. Other contributing characters are the Rivera family, Swenson the lawyer, and Agent Herrara. They all come together in the ongoing investigation and search for the criminal, Coyote. I enjoyed the realism, the portrayal of human frailty, the harshness of life, and the never ending curse of the wounded warrior and his quest that good must overcome evil. I look forward to more intrigue and real life characters in the world of Ms. Dana Marton!

My Spy by Dana Marton Jamie Cassidy is an undercover operative working for Homeland Security. He’s in Pebble Creek, Texas trying to track down a lead from a terrorist threat. Brianna Tridle is the Deputy Sheriff of Pebble Creek. She’s known for her charm and using her smile to corral any wayward would-be criminals in her town. While in town, Jamie runs into Brianna at the local independent bookstore. “The pure molten-lava lust that shot through him gut nearly knocked him off his feet. He tried to look at nothing but her eyes, but all that sparkling blue was doing things to him.” What a great way to start a romance. He’s nearly knocked off his feet as the sight of her. Very few authors sweep me instantly into their stories. Dana Marton is one of the authors that always hooks me immediately. In this story, I love that the heroine is smart, strong, and more than capable of protecting herself and family and able to “be the detective”. Sure it’s nice to have help and support of the brace hero, but they learn to work together and make compromises. Well done! And of course, it’s romance so you get the hea too. Yah! My Spy by Dana Marton is an entertaining read. My Spy is a well written book. Bree and Jamie's story is full of lovable characters, action, suspense and a little sizzle. My Spy is a fast paced, quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. I look forward to reading more from Dana Marton soon. My Spy is part of the HQ: Texas series but can be read as a stand alone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger. I purchased a copy of this book at a local library sale.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is another amazing book by Dana Marton. My spy is part of a series. I haven't read all the other books in the series but this can definitely be read as a stand alone. Jamie goes to a small town in Texas on a secret mission. While there, he accidentally pays for something with a counterfeit $20 bill. Only problem is, the deputy sheriff, Bree, happens to be there. She brings him down to the station to talk about why he has them. She finds out that not only is he hiding weapons in his car but he has two prosthetic legs. Sparks fly but both are in denial of their feelings. This was a really amazing story about an injured soldier and him finding life again. Jamie was a very strong alpha male character but had a lot of imperfections he had to deal with. I also loved Katie, Bree's sister. It was a great portrayal of the life of an autistic family member. Bree was also a strong character but she dealt with things differently. She knew how to get what she needed from someone with a smile and some nice words. I really love everything I have read by Dana Marton. She is an amazing writer. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.

This was my first Dana Marton book, and i was very pleased. The story flowed well and gave enough about the characters for you to be able to really get into the book without being overly descriptive. Looking forward to reading more of her work

I have a few of Dana Marton's books in my to be read pile and they all look great. My Spy found it's way to the top first. To start with I just have to say WOW! Give me a few minutes to catch my breath from all that excitement. I loved My Spy. There is plenty of drama, suspense, intrigue, mystery, romance, and chemistry in this book. Where do I start? Jamie Cassidy has led a VERY dangerous life and has a very dangerous job. He was drastically hurt on one of his missions. He has not wanted to get involved in a relationship because he just doesn't think he is cut out for that. That is until he meets independent, wise, and strong Deputy Sheriff Bree Tridle. The chemistry between these two is almost flame worthy. They fight hard against their attraction for each other however, they just can't seem to stay away from one and other. The more time they spend together the more the sparks start to fly.  I admire Bree so much for her strength of character for her job as well as the dedication she has to her sister. Bree is not only great with her sister but she does a fabulous job trying to keep peace in her county. I really enjoyed meeting Bree.  There is plenty of mystery in this book. Just when I thought they might be putting the pieces together to solve one thing, something else was happening! I spent most of this book sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what Bree and Jamie were going to get themselves into next. I loved how these two worked so well together from the beginning. Not only do they have great chemistry but they are great partners. Ms. Marton has done a fabulous job of creating relatable characters that are a whole lot of fun to read about as well as a wonderful suspenseful mystery that had me completely spell bound. If you are already a fan of Ms. Marton's work then I suggest you check this one out. If you have not had a chance to read any of her work yet, my suggestion is grab this one, I think you'll like it. I can't wait to read the other two books in my to be read pile. I have a feeling I am in for more fabulous suspense filled stories!  I was given the chance to read this book to share my thoughts on this book. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

Another great read by Dana Marton! I have to say I didn't realize that Harlequin had such a great genre of books in their ranks! This book is a definite must read. The story line has you intrigued long before you meet all of the characters and fall in step with their lives. Once again Dana has proven that she is a rockstar when it comes to developing the characters and turning them into the friends you have to help save the day by continuing to read to the end to discover whether the bad guys get captured as well as whether the heroine gets her man! Don't take my word for it, pick it up and give it a read to see for yourself...you really won't be sorry!

Action-filled, sizzling sex, heart-warming. We are made to feel Jamie's anguish and Bree's responsibility. The charaters are impulsive and improbable, but that is why I read. I want to escape to excitement. I was given an ARC for my honest review.

Dana Marton drew me in again. If it's an action scene with gun blazing or a love scene, I was pulled more and more into Jamie and Bree's world.   She brings real life details into each book that will open your eyes. Everyone can be whole in their own way.  Bree is protecting her town with a smile. Jamie is fighting himself about protecting her. Will they learn to work together to find the terrorist crossing our boarders? This is a very good read that you won't want to put down.

My rating: 4.5 of 5 ¿ Jamie Cassidy is working on a covert government operation when he bumps into what has got to be every man's dream woman, with a sexy southern accent to boot. Too bad that after his last failed mission, which left him with devastating injuries, he had written himself off for any kind of social interaction. As luck would have it, he stumbled into a local counterfeit money scheme and the lady turns out to be the town's deputy sheriff. Turns out that this particular beauty has brains as well and unfortunately, the use of Jamie's cover as a border patrol officer doesn't stand up very long to deputy sheriff Bree Tridle's scrutiny.  Killing with kindness, that is Bree Tridle's modus operandi. Rather than browbeating or using a heavy hand to do her job as a deputy sheriff, she manages more often than not, to use a friendly word or some kind manipulation to completely throw suspects of and get her what she wants, without needing to lift a finger. She finds it difficult to keep her wits about her around this man, however, he may be surly and gruff, but he is also all kinds of hot. Not that she is in the market for anything, her sister for whom she is guardian, will always be her first responsibility, and in her experience guys generally don't take well to coming in second. It doesn't take much for Bree to find out that Jamie is fact involved in a government sanctioned covert op, but she is eager to keep her finger on the pulse of what is going on in her town.  When Jamie accidentally discovers that Bree has been dealing with a  stalker, he insists on making sure Bree and her sister stay safe. Of course Bree is insistent that she is able to take care of herself, but after a deadly shooting at her house, she gives up any resistance. As the heat turns up, on their individual investigations and between Bree and Jamie, it appears that their cases may be related. They combine efforts to eliminate the threats and find that they partner up very well, both at work and..... in the bedroom. ****** Bravo!!!! Great read with all the necessary ingredients!! I love Dana Marton's books, she writes a great suspense and does so while still paying attention to character development and building chemistry and budding romance......not missing a beat!! Quite the balance artist!  Bree does not have the most conventional life. Hell, she is not the most convential person. A ex-beauty queen, guardian of an adult disabled sister and deputy sheriff, makes for an interesting package. Bree is insightful and senses there is much more than meets the eye when it comes to Jamie, and recognizes pain just below the surface. She is strong, sympathetic, likeable and credible with just a hint of insecurity. Jamie probably suffers from PTSD, having survived some horrific circumstances when he incurred his injuries. He lives with survivor's guilt and has some trouble adjusting socially. Initially, Bree's perky disposition irritates him to no end.... or so he keeps telling himself, while he desperately clings to his self-imposed broody exterior. Truth is, she is cracking his shields and he knows it. Jamie is damaged but not broken, protective of those he cares for but ruthless to himself, in need of someone to show him the lightness of being. I adored the choice of characters, two of them with disabilities, yet both highly functioning and capable, albeit with minor limitations, which they more than make up for with their other abilities. As someone with disabilities, I love seeing a disabled (I really hate that word!!) hero!! It is motivating and encouraging and it shows a different level of excellence. ¿A thrilling, fast-paced, sexy and intriguing book by Dana Marton!! ¿ **ARC received in return for an honest review.**

This is another can't put it down book. It started out as a Battle of the Sexes kind of book. Jamie tried to run roughshod over Bree who is a Deputy Sheriff. Bree on the other hand wanted to do all the work of protecting "her" town a to push Jamie out. They finally figured out that if they shared it all flowed easier. Bree is on someone's hit list. Is it a crazy stalker, a shady lawyer or the drug cartels? Jamie was trying to forget his past while working to stop drugs and terrorists on his watch. It was great to see the interaction between these two. There is romance but nothing over the top so you can recommend this book to all your friends. Get this book and add it to your library. It's a Big thumbs up for me!

Another fantastic book by Dana Marton.  I'm not good on reviews only know what I like.  This book starts out as Jaime an undercover operative in a small town  of Pebble Creek, Texas is frustrated at finding no new information on the terrorists crossing the  boarder.  He is going to have an evening off so goes & gets money out off the telly & goes to the book store to get a good book.  When paying for the book the employee lets him know his $20 is counterfeit.  Just so happens a deputy sheriff is in  there and takes him next door to talk.  Of course he doesn't want her to know who he really is..  From there the book has you hooked.  Action & romance between Jamie Cassidy and deputy sheriff  Bree Tridle keeps you glued to the book.

My Review: 5.0 Star Review - My Spy (HQ: Texas # 5) I recommend this book. I enjoyed this book by Dana. This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, a stalker, murder, handicapped characters and a bomb. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books first from “HQ: Texas” series. LAST SPY STANDING - this is included in this book SPY HARD THE SPY WORE SPURS MOST ELIGIBLE SPY Jamie Cassidy, an undercover operative, is working a case on tracking smugglers. He has to reveal his job when he almost gets arrested for spending a counterfeit bill he got from the bank on a book. Brianna 'Bree' Tridle, former beauty queen, now deputy sheriff takes him in custody. She is working on a money-laundering case that could be related to Jamie's case. After Jamie is told to work with Bree he discovers that she is being stalked. As their investigations continue the leads they get point back to each of their cases. As the stalker escalates the danger to Bree has Jamie in knots over his feelings and protectiveness to her and her sister. What is happening to the man who decided he never needed a woman? As Bree is drawn closer to Jamie she is wondering if he will want her to choose between him and her sister. The chemistry between these two is explosive. Bree is a cheerful sarcastic woman who is trying to keep her town free of crime and take care of her sister. I love how Dana wrote Jamie's character I totally love him. The storyline in the bank where Jamie opens up a little about his feelings and his loss just about breaks your heart. As tragic as Jamie's back story is you can get an understanding of his feelings and concerns from it. She totally cracked me up with him getting busted with the counterfeit bill while buying a book. Well played Dana well played. Very good read. Look forward to the next book in this series. Spy In The Saddle – Due out in November 2013 A few of my favorite parts: "I assume you didn't go get stiches because you don't have time, not because you're scared of the needle?" He shot her a dark look. He did that so well. Must have been part of his training. "Why don't I slap on some butterfly bandages, as long as we're both here. Then you won't have to go see a doc. You'll save a ton of time that you could use to glare at people. I'd hate to see you slip off schedule." His eyes remained stoic, but the corner of his sculpted mouth twitched. "Make it quick." "I'm not asking. I'm telling you. Don't involve yourself. Forget everything we've talked about earlier." "Or what?" A laugh escaped her and trilled along his nerve endings. "You'll spank me? For heaven's sake. I'm an officer of the law. I'm trained to handle myself." The visual of the spanking bit left him both speechless and breathless for a second. "You know, we do have a public-indecency ordinance in place. You seem to have a habit of going pant-less in public," she remarked as she stood and squeezed water out of her hair and clothes. He glanced back as he got to his feet. "You going to arrest me for that?" She sighed. "I kind of like it. Does that make me shallow?" Surprise crossed his face, then a half smile formed. "You're not what I expected."
