From the author of My Highland Bride—hailed by Sandy Blair as “an entertaining time-travel story packed with spice, humor, fantasy, and nonstop adventure”—comes a sensual novel featuring a wolf-shifting chieftain who travels centuries to modern-day Scotland to tame his one and only.
Cursed to live forever with neither wife nor child, Ronan Sutherland has watched all he cherishes turn to dust—more than once. For hundreds of years, he’s been trapped behind the mists of Loch Ness, hoping to identify the one woman who is prophesied to break the spell. Now, at last, the fates have aligned, and he’s being sent into the future to fetch her. After a single glimpse, Ronan knows he’s been waiting all his life for this passionate woman.
Unlike her time-traveling sisters, Mairi Sinclair is perfectly content to remain in the present. As a hospital nurse in Edinburgh, she cherishes the opportunity to put her gift of healing powers to good use. But everything changes the morning a mysterious wolf darts in front of her car. Touching the wounded creature’s tawny coat, a tingle surges through her. Yet when she returns with aid, Mairi is shocked to find instead a man with broad shoulders and fire in his eyes—a man who tempts her to unleash the animal within.

Eliza softly coughed. “Please forgive my dear sweet Mairi. Her manners are usually much better than the slack-jawed mute ye see standin’ before ye.”

A warm flush of oh shit swept across her. Mairi had forgotten Eliza had a guest and here she was staring at the man as though she were about to trip him and beat him to the ground. “Uhm. Sorry to interrupt. Please forgive me.” Was this how Eliza selected her benefactors? If it is . . . damnation, sign me up for this one.

The man barely smiled. His chin dipped with a polite nod. “’Tis my utmost pleasure to meet ye. I am Chieftain Ronan Sutherland.”

He extended an open hand to her, moving across the room with such strength and grace that Mairi lost the ability to connect with the world around her. Damn. Damn. Damn. The words echoed the man’s every step and the seductive play of his muscles that made her hands itch to touch him.

With a loud impatient huff, Eliza floundered free from the depths of her overstuffed chair and hurried to Mairi’s side. She pinched the tender skin beneath Mairi’s arm and whispered, “Get on with it, gal. Do ye wish the man t’think yer impaired?”

The sting of the pinch effectively snapped Mairi free of her trance. “Sorry.” She scrubbed the still-stinging flesh of her arm as she smiled and reached for Ronan’s hand. “I’m Mairi Sinclair. Sorry if I seem a bit off. It’s been a very stressful day.”

As soon as her fingers connected with Ronan’s calloused palm, a delicious surge of erotically charged energy greeted her. The powerful sensation raced through every nerve ending, imploring her to never leave. Mairi’s senses shifted to high alert. Every instinct urged her closer. Her soul sighed in relief. Finally. Claim this one. Now.
Time slowed. Mairi grew more entranced as every sense sharpened. Ronan lifted her hand to his mouth and paused one long, breathtaking moment with his warm lips pressed against her skin. If she didn’t know better, she’d swear she felt the hot moist tip of the man’s tongue flick against the top of her hand as though he tasted her. She was left with the distinct impression he was promising even better tastings to come.

And his eyes. Mairi struggled to breathe between the ever-increasing thumps of her pounding heart. His eyes shimmered like bottomless pools of mercury. Unabashed hunger and I will have you shone in the depths of his liquid silver gaze. Mairi blinked hard and pulled her hand back, pressing it tight against her middle.

Mairi shook herself free of the heated spell and edged a step back. Thank goodness Eliza was in the room. If Mairi had met the man without Eliza looking on . . . Mairi blinked hard against the sudden image of them sprawled in an erotic knot across the pillows of the love seat. What the hell is wrong with me? Had Eliza accidently slipped one of her benefactors’ aphrodisiacs into the wrong box of tea? Mairi made a mental note to interrogate Eliza about that possibility later. She had been getting pretty absentminded of late.

“Uhm.” Mairi raced the tip of her tongue across her lips. Lord have mercy, her mouth had gone dry and her nether regions had gone so wet they ached. “Uhm.” Mairi took another deep breath. He was going to think she was an idiot incapable of stringing together a multisyllablic set of words. Mairi mentally shook herself. “I’m very sorry. It really is nice to meet you, but like I said . . .”

Mairi glanced over at Eliza’s smug expression. The woman looked as though she’d just gotten away with stealing the crown jewels. The victorious gleam in her eyes worked wonders toward calming the confusion currently holding her ability to speak for ransom. Eliza’s self-satisfied expression was just the libido dousing of ice water she needed. Mairi took a deep breath, squared her shoulders, and turned her full attention back to Chieftain Sutherland. “As I said earlier, it’s been a very eventful day.”

Ronan nodded politely. “Rest easy, m’lady. There is nothing to forgive.”

What an odd way with words. Very proper. Very . . . different. This was not one of Eliza’s perspective benefactors. This man was . . . something else.

The chieftain’s eyes seemed so familiar. But how could they? Mairi was certain she’d never met this man. No way would I forget meeting you. So how could she feel so certain she’d looked into those eyes before? Mairi shook herself free of the inner turmoil and backed another step toward the door. I’ll figure it out later.

She forced her attention away from the enigmatic man and turned to Eliza. “I’m sorry I interrupted your visit. Could you step out in the hall for just a minute? I need to ask you a question.”

Eliza made the irritating clucking noise she always emitted whenever she had been pushed too far. “Absolutely not.” Latching onto Mairi’s arm, she turned her back toward the chieftain and held her firmly in place. “Chieftain Sutherland is no’ just my visitor.” Eliza tightened her grip on Mairi’s upper arm. “He’s my . . . distant relative.” Eliza bobbed her head up and down. “Yes. He’s one of m’few relatives. He’s traveled quite far to have a fine visit with us both.”

“How distant?” Mairi’s rooted seed of suspicion fully matured, sprouted accusing leaves, and threatened to bloom with full-blown distrust. What was up? Why was Eliza trying so hard? And what the hell did she mean by distant relative? Did she mean distant as in a distant time?

“A nephew.” Eliza fluffed the hot pink layers of taffeta zigzagging diagonally down the front of her tunic. “Of sorts.” She smoothed her hands down her ample hips and drummed her sparkling nail tips against her black sateen leggings. “The two of ye sit and chat while I prepare a fine tea for us to enjoy while we have our lovely visit.”

Without waiting for Mairi’s acquiescence, Eliza’s four-inch wedge heels thumped out happy quick steps as she turned and hummed her way down the hall to the kitchen.

I am going to wring her neck. Mairi turned back to Chieftain Sutherland just in time to catch the man trembling with silent laughter. So, he thought this situation was funny? Fine. Time to interrogate him and unravel Eliza’s obvious plot. Mairi waved him toward the monstrous wingback leather chair angled beside the bookcase, while she settled on the armrest of the love seat. “So, Eliza’s your aunt?”

Ronan sank down into the chair as though he owned it. His large hands draped comfortably over the ends of the rolled arms as he settled back and crossed his boots at the ankle. The man looked every bit the chieftain of a powerful clan. “I believe Mistress Eliza might ha’ stretched the truth a wee bit when she called us distant relatives. We have no shared bloodline, but she was quite correct when she said I had traveled quite a ways t’meet wi’ ye.”

“Why?” Mairi wasn’t in the mood for polite conversation no matter how deliciously lickable the man looked. She needed to be out in the streets of Edinburgh locating her lost dog. She felt sure Eliza had ousted the poor stray. It didn’t matter if she confessed it or not.

“Why?” Ronan repeated. He uncrossed his boots and leaned forward as though ready to spring from the chair. Did the man sense she was about to make a quick getaway?

“Yes. Why did you want to meet with us?” Damn, the man was sexy as hell, but she didn’t have time for sexy as hell—especially without any pertinent details, like who the devil he really was. She struggled against the strange pull of the chieftain. She had to find her dog before the authorities picked him up and sealed his fate with an ending she’d rather not think about.

Mairi Sinclair is not interested in joining her time traveling sisters and Granny in thirteenth century Scotland thank you very much. She enjoys being a modern young woman so despite Granny’s demands, Mairi refuses to cross back into the past. Granny, who is known for her tricksey ways, sends Ronan, Chieftain Sutherland, to the future to persuade Mairi that she must come with him. Ronan has some dark secrets, none of which he wants Mairi to know, not the least of which is that he can shift into a wolf. Ronan has been under a curse for three hundred years and needs Mairi to break that spell to save him and his family. Mairi has some of the gifts of her kind including healing, and the ability to see when a man is not being truthful. In an effort to win Mairi, Ronan’s keeps far too many secrets so that each time they seem to be getting close, another one pops out to bite him in the usual place. Is anyone more stubborn than a Scotsman who refuses to take the advice of those who realize that he is putting their relationship in jeopardy? Ronan’s adjustment to the 21st century has some predictable and humorous moments. After they travel back in time, he still keeps with the same plan of not telling Mairi all that is going on until after the curse is broken which, again, does not work out well for him. Ronan’s stubbornness despite how many times Mairi told him truth was important to her gets aggravating after a while. As in the other two books in this series, Mairi faces the challenges of a contemporary young woman trying to navigate the totally alien world of thirteenth century Scotland as well as falling in love with a Scotsman who is a man of his times. And in this story, Ronan is even older having been caught of the cycle of this curse for so long. This can be read as a standalone, but Ronan is a major character in the second book so it’s better to have read that one first. Readers who liked the first two in the Highland Hearts series will enjoy this one as well. ARC provided by NetGalley

Ronan had been cursed to shapeshift into a wolf. His mother was now a wolf and his friend Graham was a dragon shifter. Graham was a dragon by day and a man by night. Ronan had been summoned to go to the clan MacKenna and that Lady Mairi Sinclair was the woman to be his wife. The he found out by Chiefton Guy MacKenna it was the ‘old one’ - the Sinclair matraich who had demanded he come. Ronan would rather face a legion of MacKenna soldiers than a private sitting with Lady Nia Sinclair- Mairi’s grandmother. Then Ronan finds out Lady Mairi is in the twenty first century - Ronan is in the thirtenth century- and having a good time there. Ronan would have to go to the twenty first century to get Mairi. Mairi has a job as a nurse using her healing power to help people. One day on her way to work she hit a wolf and Mairi brings the wolf home to heal him. Mairi is attracted to Ronan but doesn’t trust him and Ronan knows she the one but he keeps telling Mairi half truths even though she gave him a lot of chances to come clean. I didn’t hate hate this story but it wasn’t a favorite of mine either. It just didn’t WOW me. Ronan was afraid he would lose the chance to break the curse he had been under for three hundred years. I didn’t like the was Mairi treated Ronan most of the time. I liked how Ronan cared for Miri even if he wasn’t completely honest with her. So much banked on her marrying him. The plot was good but I am not really into time travel stories. But I at least liked this one as far as the time travel goes. I am sure others will find this a completely enjoyable read.

After her husband conceived him with a mistress, a witch cursed Ronan to live forever without a wife or children. For hundreds of years, he has lived behind the mists of Loch Ness, watching all those he loves age and die, over and over, while he waits until the fates align and he can claim the one woman who can break the curse. The only problem is, he must time travel to the 21st century to find her. Mairi Sinclair is his perfect match and they both feel it right away. But now Ronan must decide how much he should tell her about the curse and when. He doesn't want to scare her off, but will she trust him if there are too many secrets between them? What will happen when the truth comes out? This book is an enchanting blend of multiple paranormal elements. While not normally my kind of thing, I read this book based on a recommendation of a friend, and to my surprise, I rather enjoyed it. While this novel is part of a series, I read it without having read its predecessors and had no difficulties. Ronan and Mairi set the sheets on fire, and the dialogue is witty, sassy and fun. This is a quick, entertaining read that is great for killing some free time.

Reviewed by Angel's Guilty Pleasures ~ 3 Tempting Highlander Stars ~ My Tempting Highlander is book three in the Highland Hearts series by Maeve Greyson. We are treated to a curse, shifters, witches, time travel, heartache, love and meddling family members! I had a little trouble at times reading My Tempting Highlander. Historical Romances are not my normal genre nor are Time Travel, add in that this was the thrid book in the series and that I had not read any of the other books. So, we then get an up-and-down ride of trying to piece things together and understand the world created. The world was appealing enough. The more I read the more I got curious about the first two sisters and their stories. Also by the end I was left a little curious about the fourth and final sisters too. I do have to point out that I was a little confused at the very beginning, when they talk about Mairi Sinclair being the one. I started to think, at that point, that I might have missed some important events revealed in a previous book. As for our leads they where mediocre. Not overly inviting as characters and nothing really amazing or memorable stood out about them. Mairi was raised in the future even though she is from the past, so she is a sassy modern day women. Ronan is a highland warrior cursed. He needs to find the one who can break the curse and send the evil back into the pits of hell. I got frustrated with our hero and heroine, Ronan and Mairi, for different things. Ronan tells half truths instead of trusting Mairi. Mairi did a lot of whining, which got on my nerves. As for the big bad. It wasn't all that bad. I felt the main focus to this story was our hero omitting the things he should've told his women. Can you read this book with out reading the others? Yes, but you might get more enjoyment if you read in order. My Tempting Highlander was a nice quirky fun historical time travel romance. If you enjoy historical romances with a family of meddling time traveling witches and sexy highland warriors, then you might enjoy reading My Tempting Highlander. *Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy provided by Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley with the sole purpose of an honest review. 2.5 Stars My Tempting Highlander is the first book of Maeve Grayson that I have read and unfortunately I found the story confusing. The plot centers around highland Ronan Sutherland, who was cursed by an evil stepmother to be an immortal wolf shifter until his true love can be found. He is approached by Granny Sinclair who reveals that her granddaughter Mauri is his fated mate. The Sinclair family is gifted with the ability to travel through time and before you know it, Ronan travels to modern times and meets Mauri, who works as a nurse. She is attracted to him, but isn't willing to travel through time to fulfill her destiny. Ronan manages to agree to journey with him, but doesn't tell her all his secrets and almost loses as a result. As I read the book, I liked Mauri but didn't connect as well with Ronan. The pacing felt off, especially the ending. It wasn't my cup of tea, but many other people seem to really like this book. I was given a free copy for an honest review.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Another great story by Maeve. This is the third book in this series and it's just as good as the other two. I love time travel romances because of the reactions the characters have in the differences between centuries, they're so funny, and this book doesn't disappoint. There is also a shape shifting aspect that fits into the story perfectly. It's very well written and the characters are wonderful. This is one of my favorite series.

This is book 3 in the Highland Hearts series Living an immortal life has been a very tiring life for Ronan Sutherland. Watching as all of his loved ones leave the earth and waiting on the one woman that will break the curse that was placed on him. Granny Sinclair believes that her granddaughter is that woman and sends Ronan into the future to get her and bring her back. Mairi Sinclair is not like her sisters. She is happy to be living in the present and has no desire to go back in time to live the life that they are living. But everything changes when she meets Ronan, but he isn't telling her the whole truth about the curse. What will happen to Mairi and Ronan's love when she finds out all of his secrets? I really enjoyed this story as much as the other two in the series. I wasn't sure if I would, knowing that it had a little bit more paranormal elements in it. While they factor in quite a bit to the storyline, they aren't "in your face", so to speak. I liked Ronan. We meet him in the previous story, My Highland Bride. He was sorta the bad guy in it, but you knew that he was doing what he did because he was desperate and didn't know what else that he could do. Reading his story, made me fall in love with him. Although, I kept saying in my mind that he really needed to tell Mairi everything involving his curse. Unfortunately, he almost blew it... I liked Mairi, but she wasn't a stand out heroine for me. She was just ok... There is one more sister that Granny Sinclair needs to see married and at the very end of this story, we learn who is suppose to be her soulmate. I'm looking forward to it coming out! Thanks go out to Random House Publishing via NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

What a great read! Although this is book 3 of "A Highlander Hearts" series, it was very much a stand alone. The story was full of humor, family, time travel and the pitfalls of falling in love. This is my first book by Maeve Greyson, and I intend to go back and read books 1 & 2 of the series. I did not feel I missed anything in this book, but since I enjoyed it, I would like to read more of the series. I especially enjoyed the connection felt between Mairi and Ronan. Although poor Ronan couldn't seem to get it right by telling the truth, Mairi hung in there until he did. I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for gifting me with "My Tempting Highlander" and only asked for an honest review. Recommended read! 4 Stars!

A stimulating historical time travel read I love time travels, especially historical ones and this time travel did not disappoint me. The storyline plays on all your emotions and continues to keep you on the edge of your seat wondering if these two can find a way to each other in spite of the events going on around them. The Prologue starts out with the detailed description of the events around the event resulting in the witches curse that caused Ronan, his Mathair (mother) and his mentor, Graham to be stuck in an unnatural manner. The mystic presentation of this curse sets the reader up for a well written story between Ronan and Mairi. Ronan has searched for hundreds of years for the one women to break the curse and the author does an outstanding job of portraying his strengths, weaknesses, heartbreak and sorrow around this area. His character is interesting, funny, very sexy and loving to those close to him. Our heroine, Mairi is quite defiant to having things decided for her and she really dislikes falsehoods. This creates a fun time when Ronan comes into the future and tries to win her over with omissions in his story. She is written as an intuitive beautiful strong headed women with some soft edges that she doesn't want others to see. This book also setups the next book which I am excited to read. I am sure that it will be done in the same detailed standard as this one and have already added it to my reading list. I give this book 4 STARS for being a stimulating historical time travel read. Review: Again, I don't seem to pay attention when I pick books for review because this is #3 in the series. Well, if you follow my lead, have no fear you will be fine. This book is pretty self-contained and self-explanatory, I was never lost or confused when reading this book. The story does reference past events, especially what happened between Mairi's sister and Ronan, but they are used in way that helps propel tension between the would-be couple. I had not read this Author before and I found her very fun to read. I loved the wit and dialog between Mairi and Ronan, they were very entertaining to read about. The Author did a good job of blending a lot of supernatural forces together in a cohesive story. There are shapeshifters, a curse, witches and time travel that she managed all these things, says something, at least to me. Of course there is romance and obstacles to overcome and good smexy times. Loved the chemistry between Mairi and Ronan! My only thing was that I would have liked just a bit more action when they are fighting the witch and curse. Great time-travel, supernatural, highlander romance! I don't think I forgot anything ;) 4Stars *Received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

This is book three in the "Highland Hearts" series. I have read book two but I didn't see any issue with this book and felt it was a standalone book. So don't worry if like me you are jumping around in the series. Ronan Sutherland is cursed along with his mother and best friend. The only way to release the curse is to meet, fall in love and marry a women which meet the three criteria needed to break the curse. Ronan had been looking and finds that Granny Sinclair has a granddaughter named Mairi Sinclair that Granny Sinclair thinks too will fix the curse. By Mairi is a time traveler that is now in the present day where Ronan is in the thirteen century. Granny Sinclair helps Ronan to get to the present day to try to convince Mairi that they are meant to be together. But Ronan does hid what the curse does to him, him mom and his friend... he is scared that she will not agree if she has all the information. Which makes things a little tough for them both. I enjoyed this book and hope that you will too!

For the rest of Mairi Sinclair’s family, they’ve found their happily ever after in the past; but she is adamant that this will not be her future. Mairi is resolve in staying in the present, even at the much harassment and machinations of her grandmother. That is well and good until she runs over a poor defenseless dog, which happens to be a wolf, who happens to also be the shifter Mairi’s grandmother sent to retrieve Mairi and bring her back to the past and so the real fun begins. Greyson weaves a fun, entertaining, time traveling tale. You’ve got the hot, sexy, arrogant shifter that comes with unusual sidekicks, and is plagued by a vengeful ancient curse that might condemn them all…so there is plenty of suspense. Of course, My Tempting Highlander is definitely not lacking in the romance department either. What more can you ask for? Hot highlanders, sexy shifters, romance and suspense, it has it all. I guess you could add in a sexy dragon, but oh, it’s got that too. I received this ARC copy of My Tempting Highlander from Random House - Loveswept in exchange for a honest review.

**I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW** Another out-of-the-park-er for Ms. Greyson!! I adored the first two books, and this one didn't let me down with the vivid pictures the author's words created in my mind. Perfect setting, all the senses fulfilled, and an HEA...what's not to love? Fleshed out characters that complement each other (even when they don't know it yet) and laughter enough to keep the story light-hearted, this book is a must read!

First time reading this author and I'll be honest, I almost quit reading it. It was just a little confusing at first but then once you get into it I couldn't put it down. I'm not a fan of historical books but this one is different. Ronan is the Chieftain of his clan in the 13th century Scotland. He, his mother, and friend and mentor were cursed many years ago. His mother has been a wolf since he was born, he can shift into a wolf, and his friend us a dragon. The only way to break the curse, is to find the one special woman who is lightness of step, a soothing touch, and sight for the unseen. But she is in the 21st century. Mairi lives in Edinburgh in the 21st century and is a nurse. She loves this time but was born in the 13th and refuses to go back. When a handsome man shows up, she knows he is keeping secrets from her. She has learned that once men find out her secret they leave her. When they get word that Ronan's mom and friend are getting worse, they have to make her go back. Once she gets there, they tell her that she and Ronan must marry to break the curse. He is madly in love with her but she has built walls and it will take him almost dying before she admits how much he means to her. Sexy Scot, a beautiful woman, crazy Granny, and interfering guardian Eliza. Some parts absolutely cracked me up. *RECEIVED A COPY FROM NETGALLEY*

I love the continuation of this series. Visiting old friends is always nice. Mairi has a big heart but not much trust in humans. From the first touch of Ronan's wolf, Mairi is in deep. She takes pleasure in introducing him to modern life although unwittingly. Once all comes clear, she fights her attraction to Ronan but agrees to do what it takes to break the curse. Ronan does not know how to open up to Mairi. He thinks he is doing the best thing by keeping secrets. They both push the other away until the moment of truth when they both realize what that truth is. The humor and the pace of this story kept me reading. I am enjoying this series very much and look forward to the next one. I had a chance to read this through Netgalley.

This book is about a cursed wolf shifter (Ronan) who travels to modern day Edinburgh to meet his true mate (Mairi), the only one who can stop the curse. I really enjoyed this book. Ronan on modern times is very funny. His interaction with the car were just priceless. The one thing I didn't care for was that Mairi, who is a time traveller, did not want to believe Ronan was from the past. He doesn't tell her everything and everyone she finds out something he didn't tell her she get angry with him. If she had listened to her gut that he was from the past he would've had to tell her more and she would have had less to be angry about. Over all I like Mairi and loved Ronan he was funny and his accent was awesome. The secondary characters were great and I can't wait for Mairi's sister to get her story. This is a new to me author and I will definitely read her again. The sex scenes were more in line with a historical novel and fit into this book beautifully. I would absolutely recommend this book. I received an arc from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
